shekala 56
It looks like the behavior of shared links has changed and I could use some advice/confirmation. I often create a shared link to insert into other apps I use (like rememberthe milk, etc). Today I noticed that the link (created via right clicking on the note (in the Windows client), the choosing Share/Copy Shareable Link) takes me to a webpage that shows the note, but doesn't require me to be logged into Evernote. This leads to a few questions: 1) Are the links readable by anyone? It used to be that only someone logged into my Evernote account could access them. Obviously I would prefer the links to be private 2) Can the links be set to open in the desktop client? It used to work that way, although admittedly inconsistently and I had to constantly reset it. But now doesn't even seem to be a possibility. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! David Link to comment

On my Mac, I can force the classic link by holding down the option key when using Copy Note Link. Otherwise it has dual functionality; in-app if pasted within Evernote, private browser if pasted outside of Evernote To get the public link, I use the Share Note menu selection Link to comment

shekala 56
Does anyone know how to generate the different links on a PC? The only choices seem to be "Copy Internal Link", "Copy Shareable Link" (which is public). I don't see the private link choice. Link to comment

This is what I see in the current Windows beta (6.8.4.6134): With a note selected in the note list, Ctrl+Alt+L : evernote:///view/48005074/s244/afccaae4-c681-43f1-824a-363a60a2291d/afccaae4-c681-43f1-824a-363a60a2291d/ Note / Copy Internal Link : https://www.evernote.com/shard/s244/nl/48005074/afccaae4-c681-43f1-824a-363a60a2291d Right-click on note / Copy internal link : https://www.evernote.com/shard/s244/nl/48005074/afccaae4-c681-43f1-824a-363a60a2291d Right-click on note / Ctrl + Copy internal link : evernote:///view/48005074/s244/afccaae4-c681-43f1-824a-363a60a2291d/afccaae4-c681-43f1-824a-363a60a2291d/ Ctrl+/ : http://www.evernote.com/l/APSvzKrkxoFD8YJKNjpgoikdaY2kWeUYsrU/ Copy Sharable Link : http://www.evernote.com/l/APSvzKrkxoFD8YJKNjpgoikdaY2kWeUYsrU/ Link to comment
Level 5* CalS 5,280 Posted November 9, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted November 9, 2017 You could try the Sharing the note, either from the Note option in the menu bar or right clicking on the note. Not sure if sharing the note with a specific email address generates a private link or not. Would test first, pending someone coming in with a specific solution. FWIW. Link to comment
