Why does this bother you, and Is there a reason for "Especially in mac application" I personally dislike that the metadata is stored separately from the note content. I have a script on my Mac to append the metadata (title ...) to the note I'm thinking a note title field is necessary. For example, sort by title, intitle: search Link to comment

The title field is unnecessary. Disagree. If you've ever read a book, the title is often not the first line of the book. If you've ever read research, the title is not the first line of the paper. Web sites often have a title that differs from the first line of the site. The title describes the content, but isn't necessarily the content. On the other hand, some people like having the first line of a note be the title. Evernote can do that too, which is handy sometimes. As an option? Sure. But as a general rule? Not for me.
