The feature I most often use is taking photos of documents and saving them as JPG. Sometimes finding dark colored background to contrast a paper document is impossible, and the Automatic Mode (which autofocuses and crops out the background except for the document) won't function properly without contrasting surroundings. When I switch to Manual Mode, surrounding unwanted objects/background is included and cropping is unavailable in this mode. If manual cropping and auto-straightening functions are available, that would solve the problem in Manual Mode. It would be useful too in Automatic Mode as sometimes auto-cropping isn't perfect.
So far I've been using CamScanner to take pictures of the documents that Evernote failed to autofocus and crop properly, manually crop out the background (CamScanner automatically straightens images with irregularly cropped edges), then share to Evernote. Hope to see similar function incorporated into Evernote in the near future.
