Why can't one send an Apple Note to Evernote?

When I choose a simple text note in Apple's Notes app and then go to the "Share" menu, Evernote does not appear (it is enabled). Is this a bug or a feature?

I'm on the beta version, and I think EN has some issues with the share menu

On IOS, the share to Evernote works for Apple Notes

Not sure why you think this is Apple's fault. It's up to Evernote to appear in the macOS share menu or not

Without knowing many details about this, my understanding is both apps have a responsibility
- Apple Notes has to indentify itself as a certain type of content
- Evernote has to identify itself as able to handle the content

Apple Notes on the Mac identifies itself as shareable content only to selected Apple apps

Not true. I think that displaying a share menu means that the app has shareable content (regardless of other apps). In any case, DEVONThink Pro can receive notes from Apple Notes, for example. My guess is that Notes is sending information in rtf format, which Evernote can't handle.
