effcee 0
A problem started today with Evernote being blocked by Avast. It is claiming an infection VBS:Malware-gen in the Evernote.app process in an Evernote container ending in /note.index/_0.frq Have deleted Evernote and reinstalled a version to run pre os 10.10 - but same problem. Upon opening Evernote, Avast pops up an Infection Blocked note as above and Evernote pops up an 'Internal Error' message "An internal database error has occurred that prevents Evernote from functioning properly. If the problem persists, please contact Evernote Support." A couple of example messages from the Avast block attached. Any ideas or solutions? Link to comment
amanda_h 300
Hi @effcee - It looks like this is a false positive, you can read more about it on the Avast Forum. Updating Avast to the latest version should help to resolve this issue. Link to comment

I cannot access Evernote on Mac now. Please advise. Thanks Hi @techinshanghai, Please try recreating your Evernote note index to resolve this. If Evernote is not crashing: Open Evernote Hold the Option key down on the keyboard and click Help in the menu bar. Go to Troubleshooting and select Recreate Full Text Search Index. If Evernote is crashing: Open Finder, then select Go > Go To Folder from the menu bar. If you have the Mac App Store build, paste: ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote/Data/Library/Application Support/com.evernote.Evernote/accounts/www.evernote.com/ . If you have the direct download build, paste: ~/Library/Application Support/com.evernote.Evernote/accounts/www.evernote.com/ Locate and open the numbered folder Locate and delete the folder called note.index Open Evernote Link to comment
