Copy text with markup syntax

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm trying to copy and paste text out from evernote. I want to copy the markdown syntax (especially the code block) but I couldn't find a way to do so.

Can anyone point me to the right direction?

Andrew

just to make it a bit clear, I want to copy the code block as it is. So I want whatever application I copy the text to recognise the code block as code block rather then just a normal text

The perfect scenario will be copying the text on evernote and have all the markup syntax pasted on whatever application i'm using.

Still not completely clear

What aspects of "code block" are you wanting, and can the destination application handle it.
For sure, the simple text should copy/paste without any problem

So for example, if I type something like this:

```
code block here
The above will be recognise as code block on evernote and the "```" will disappear because that's the syntax for code block on markdown.
I want to copy the "code block" into a raw text file editor (vim for example).
If I do a normal copy paste, it will just recognise the codeblock as normal text.
Is there a way for me to copy the text with the markdown syntax intact?
