Evernote Web Clipper 6.9.3 for Firefox released (Official Thread)

Recommended Posts

I'm very pleased to announce Web Clipper 6.9.3 for Firefox.

Thanks to the new 'Web Extensions' API in Firefox we're able to jump from version 6.2 to 6.9.3 and provide you the same feature set we have on other browsers. Moving forward, we'll be much quicker to update it. (We'll submit 6.10.1 for review today).

To install Web Clipper for Firefox, go to:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/evernote-web-clipper/
This new version works in Firefox 49 or later. For older versions, please visit the extensions versions page and download Web Clipper 6.2.

Installed without a problem,  and it seems to work nicely - but the last version had an option to save to the local -or- the server database.  We no longer seem to have that.

Which is a pain because clipping used to generate a new note immediately for editing as necessary,  but a sync is now required to actually see the content.  It's more difficult to edit,  and to check the quality of a clip.

Is this another 'design decision',  or was it really not technically possible to include the option?

I do not like what this change has done. In the past, Clipper was immediately available when I opened Firefox. Did not have to sign in or anything. It was great. Now when I start Firefox, a Clipper help tab automatically opens. Why? My home page opens as well, but this Clipper help tab also opens and that's the tab that is acting as my home tab even though it's not set that way in Firefox. I don't need or want this. Plus, I now have to sign in to use Clipper. I have disabled it for the present. Any idea what's going on? (Firefox is up to date and Clipper was just updated yesterday with this newest version.)

I can confirm that the new clipper seems to require a sign-in each time the browser is started,  and you get the annoying 'help' page along with it.  I'm sure I didn't miss a step during the install that would have 'registered' the add-on to avoid this... :(

Link to comment

And I also did not do anything to cause this change. It started for me today when I first went online this morning. It was not doing it yesterday. According to Firefox recent updates, Clipper automatically updated at some point yesterday to the current version.

I had to sign in the first time, but subsequently have not.  One thing, my options were changed and I had to reset them.  Other than that everything seem fine.  Thanks.

Even less working than in the last version. At least then I could use the toolbar button to save notes, now that doesn't work either. The options have appeared in the right-click menu but they don't work either. Latest version of Firefox, Windows 10, tried on both desktop PC and laptop.

I have to open the page in Google Plus in order to continue my work.

Evernote sent an email recently saying the price was going up… good grief.

This is the biggest disappointment I had in 6 year that I've been using Evernote and the Webclipper - not being able to save locally. Not everybody has unlimited bandwidth available, and it has just become impossible to continue using the application. Sorry to leave but all good things come to an end it seems.

Web Clipper is something I use regularly. But I am unable to use this new (today 11-17-2016) version in Firefox (Mac). This update won't sign me in to my account - I get "Unknown Error".  I've done all the normal things to fix it - update Firefox, uninstall and reinstall Web Clipper, and no go.

Of the few comments in this thread at this moment in time, a good percentage are having problems - so I see I'm not alone.

First of all, thanks for continuing to develop this product. But I, too, confirm that the Web Clipper is broken. I'm prompted to sign in, but I get the "Unknown error". For me, both updates occurred in the same day, Web Clipper 6.9.3 and Firefox 50 on Windows 7.

However, I'm going to suggest that the issue lies with your update. This is because I'm still using Evernote's legacy product Clearly (which you discontinued last year), and I can successfully clip content to my Evernote account that way. I'm glad I didn't take your advice and uninstall it; it's my hedge against Web Clipper bugs.

I really hope this is not another unsigned certificate issue for the new version, but at least it would be a non-technical fix. In any case, this latest episode is unhelpful to my workflow.

Yes, this new Webclipper is very disappointing.

Whenever I open firefox, the Web-Clipper HELP page opens in a separate Tab. I don't want this.

I have disabled the Clipper for now.

Also there is no way I can change the Shortcut for the clipper.

I  triedf to change it, but after the change it still uses the old shortcut, despite the "change".

If this is not fixed I have to stop using the Clipper. It is simply too annoying.

Please let us know if there is a way to stop the web-clipper help page from opening when I start Firefox. It is aggravating and causes a slower browser start. The web-cipper does not work as well as previous versions as well. Selection method ( =/-) is terrible and I can no longer choose which folder to save a clipped note to.

I really like Clipper, so I sure hope they get this fixed. Having Clipper Help essentially opening up as my home page is not acceptable. (My home page also opens, but the Clipper help tab is the tab that Firefox goes to first.)

Link to comment

I was also getting the "Unknown error" issue when trying to log into the clipper from Firefox 50 (for 6.9.3).  I traced the problem to another addon called privacy badger.  If I disabled this I could log in to the clipper.  If I turned it on it would no longer work (it gave an error like no internet connection found).  If you're not using this add on, then check other add/privacy blocking addons you may be using.  I also uBlock origin, but that seems to work fine with this addon, but privacy badger will break it.

Link to comment

Yes, please fix this.  Every time I open Firefox, I now get the "Web Clipper Help" page showing up automatically and prompting me to log in.  I see no way to permanently get rid of this.  Please fix!!!  I have Web Clipper version 6.9.3 and Firefox 50.0.

I use Privacy Settings and uBlock Origin. First I dactivated Privacy Settings, but have the same problem. Then I deactivated uBlock Origin and I could login. After this I activated both addins and I'm still logged in.

The funny thing is, that I also use uBlock Origin with Chrome, and with Chrome I don't have this problem.

´The big question is, why uBlock Origin blocks the login to Evernote. Are they tracking something?

Couple days ago web clipper work fine. But now it is dead.

Now it ask to login, but it's frame has no text and don't do it works.

And it always open new tab with empty help page, and ask allow scripts from strange domains zendesk.com and others "zens"... I don't trust them.

Is any way to install previous version?

I also reverted to version 6.2.0 and can confirm that clipping is functional.

GambaJo, thanks for mentioning uBlock Origin, it might be the problem for me too but I can't spend time troubleshooting today.

I'll just wait until we hear from the Evernote dev team on a solution before I update again.

Link to comment

I turned off Addblock Plus and was able to sign in.

But after sign-in, if AddBlock was turned back on, Clipper said "no internet connection." Turning off AddBlock allowed clipping.

I would call this a serious bug - should have been tested.

Hi Evernote Employee !

This is simply unprofessional to leave us with an unfixed problem ever since the new release was published. I keep having this page tab when I open Firefox and this is most awkward for my job. Also have to login systematically if I wish to grab a note. I am a paid user and I truly hope you're going to have a look at that and find a fix soon. And yes, I do not have brandwidth wherever I go, so please do let me the possibility to capture without being connected. It seems that Evernote choices have not been going in the right direction over the past few months. I might consider using One Note ...

OSX FF50, this web clipper is not working even with ublock disabled. Downgraded to 6.2 and it works.

Firefox 50 is super fast on OSX and I'll be using it more than Chrome now. Please get the clipper functioning properly. Thank you

No more clipping of local files with this update! – I downgraded to 6.2 and it works again. – I lost one hour to solve the problem and I am really frustrated and angry. Instead of using my spare time on Sunday for some housekeeping of local files I had to troubleshoot…

Link to comment

With FF50 + Noscript, this breaks.  I get clickjack warnings, whereas 6.2.0 worked before.

Meaning that you did not test the Evernote Clipper plugin with a browser with Firefox and/or with the very popular Noscript plugin.

This means that somebody was unprofessional and simply did not care.

It would have taken 1 person all of 15-30 minutes to test ... let me write the test record out for you:

  1. Reimage test machine
  2. Install latest Firefox
  3. Install Noscript
  4. Install Evernote Clipper
  5. Login to test account and clip things

So this is unacceptable.  Part of your release management does include manual testing, right?

I pay for annual service so that you can test and debug your app, not the other way around.  Please do your job!

uBlock origin (and other ad blockers using adblock rules subscriptions) block work Evernote Web Clipper.

Reason filter "BitBlock List" it contains a rule

||evernote.com^$third-party

If you disable it, the problem goes away. You can add a filter permitting.

Does this mean Evernote is giving data to thitd party companies?

No.

This rule, in effect, blocking all access to evernote.com from third-party domains. Hence the problem.

Third-party domains are all sites that we are opening in the browser and on which we want to add a bookmark to Evernote.

This sounds strange to me. Some people here reported, that they downgraded the clipper and it works. So something seems to be different in the new version of the clipper.

I don't wont to give up ad and trecking blocker and I don't want to edit the filter lists, because the 6.2 clipper worked.

I hope Evernote will fix this quick.

Thanks for the problem reports.

The reason for the differences between Web Clipper 6.2 and 6.9.3: The new version builds on top of Firefox WebExtensions, which got introduced in FF 48.
WebExtensions allowed us to make FF Web Clipper compatible with the latest version in Chrome, Safari, Opera, and Edge.

Local Saving: Isn't possible with WebExtensions.
Help page: We're investigating.
Ad blockers: We're investigating. Please use workarounds suggested above.

Just unintalled and reinstalled web clipper 6.9.3 a few minutes ago. Attached is the blank screen I get when I try to log in - some empty fields and no labels, I can type user name and password in but I can not enter them, these fields never change. The only reason I bought premium Evernote is to use web clipper. What is the fix for this problem? Please advise.

What is needed to keep persistently logged in to the extension? Now I have to log in every time I open my browser and want to use the new extension, and then separately reset my clipping style preference, disable PDF integration and related results, which is all pretty annoying as overhead for a "convenience" feature..

I'll add my voice to the chorus of people who are unhappy with this update.

  1. Saving the login in a cookie isn't okay. Web cookies should be separated from software. I do not want any cookies to persist when I restart my browser, and I don't want to have to create a cookie exception. I don't want my evernote.com web cookies to be permanent just so I can stay logged in to the web clipper.
    • I'm guessing that "Show Related Results" being pre-selected every time is also a result of not saving cookies.
      • Note that unselecting it when I log in doesn't actually appear to set the proper setting until I edit the setting in Options.
  2. I can't clip anything. This is obviously a fatal flaw to the update.
  3. As others have said, FF+NoScript causes clickjack warnings anytime I try to use the webclipper interface.

The goal of having the Evernote webclipper is to improve my workflow. Everything here breaks my workflow. :(

Update: I have reverted to Web Clipper 6.2. Everything works again.

Since it seems that WebExtensions are here to stay, can Evernote commit to ensuring that the clipping service will maintain compatibility for Web Clipper 6.2? (Or if perpetual compatibility isn't possible, fork the project so that there's always a non-WebExtensions version.)

I don't intend to update the Web Clipper ever again, and being a premium customer, it would be nice to have peace of mind that the Clipper will continue working. 50% of my Evernote usage is via the Web Clipper and I'd really rather not have to start from square one and try to find new workflow tools after 6 years.

We've been working on investigating and fixing the 6.9.3 issues:

1) NoScript incompatibility: We've been able to fix it. It'll be in the next release.
2) Ad blockers: Please remove Evernote as one of the blocked sites.
2) Help page showing up: Still working on it.
3) Unable to login/no login button: This is caused by 'Never Remember History' in Settings > Privacy > History. This problem was introduced in Firefox 50 (FF 49 works fine). Firefox has fixed the issue in 50.0.1, which will be released in about 2 weeks. Workaround until the release comes out:
- Disable the 'Never Remember History'.
- Or install the FF 50.0.1 preview build: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/2016/11/2016-11-23-18-25-36-mozilla-release-l10n/

I don't understeand this. With the clipper 6.2 it seems to work. So I think not the Ad blocker is the problem. They won't block this without a reason. I would prefer, if Evernote would make it like in 6.2.

Maybe the reason is: Firefox changed the architecture of its plugin platform. With FF 49 was coming the new cross browser platform "WebExtensions": https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions  The new Web Clipper based of this architecture which is recommended by Firefox for new plugins in general. And WebExtensions has new - and maybe better - security standards than the old standard. I'm not an IT spcialist but I suppose this makes a difference and Evernote can not use the old code ...

I don't want to have to sync in order to view the note I just clipped, I want it to open in the Evernote desktop app.

Therefore, I have reverted to version 6.2.0 - however, it says I'm signed out no matter what I try, and under Options it won't allow me to select a default notebook, yet it will still clip to the desktop app - but now I have to update the notebook every time. This version worked fine before and now it is broken. Please advise how I can return it to former functionality.

This is not a small frustration, I use Evernote every day and now it is annoying to use, and I'm seriously considering looking at alternatives. It's hardly progress when you remove user choice and configurability. Since Windows 10 started with the dumbing down of apps, it's becoming all too common to slash functionality of software and leave it a shell of its former self. I find it really really hard to understand the logic of this.

But @rubenb implied that one result of the change is that Clipper can no longer save to the local database,  but must always sync to the cloud.  That's the one feature of Firefox's clippers that I require and use.  Waiting for the note to sync down to my desktop adds several seconds to each clip where that is necessary.  :(

Link to comment

Well, uninstalling the web-clipper app 6.9.3 worked, but I could not get Firefox to re-install web clipper 6.2.  So now as a result I have no web-clipper until Evernote gets the issues fixed.  I prefer it this way over having the annoying sign-in reappear like an old wart every time Firefox boots, totally disrupting my workflow and my train of thought. By the way, not one of my other Firefox add-ons interrupt my work like that. (By the way, I am using Firefox 50.0 on OSX 10.10.5 ) In the meantime I will "make-do" with the mail-to feature as a Premium user, but I am getting interested now in seeing how One-Note works...

No. When I click on the Evernote icon in Firefox, an empty and smaller browser window appears and disappears after 1 second. And nothing happens then.

I downgraded to 6.2, and this works. So it's definitive not a Firefox and not an ad blocker (uBlock Origin + Privacy Settings) problem. There must be a change between 6.2 and 6.9.3, that is the problem.

There is a version, that works, and another, that doesn't work. It's easy to reproduce the problem. So I really don't understand, why it seems to be so difficult to solve the problem.

The list can't be the only problem, because then 6.2 wouldn't work too.

Installed beta,  which logged itself into the 'wrong' account initially - I have another Basic account.  When I noticed the error and logged out / back in to the correct account I got the 'can't start' error again.  Reloaded the page and then got my clip...  Otherwise,  seems good!

6.2 installed that list enabled all works ok

that list enabled with anything newer than 6.2 it fails

this was on ff50 +

on ff 49 though all works correctly so...who knows.

something in ff50 + along with that ublock list causes issues with 6.3+

disable list and all works fine

Hi,

I am really, really missing the local save option for the clipper.

I clips some large (100 pages+) HTML docs and it's really annoying to wait minutes for the clip, then the upload, then force a sync, just to get it in the local client (I rarely if ever use the web client). The same clip to local database happens in seconds then happily syncs in the background whilst I work locally or off-line even, so it's a vast improvement.

It would be really good if you could add back the local save feature. It's very annoying to have to push it to the cloud then pull it back down just to work with the clip. Very slow too in my case.

Thanks.

since yesterday, whenever I start Firefox (win and mac) the " Kurzanleitung" for the webclipper starts and the Clipper does not work. I have to connect to Evernote to use the Clipper, but when I stop and then start Firefox again it is the same procedure.

Any help

Thank you Thomas

I just saw  Terp66 has got a similar problem

Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, apparently the link above for a beta version should fix the Clipper help tab/page that automatically opens when starting Firefox. I haven't tried it, as I went back to the previous Clipper version where that wasn't a problem. I am staying with that for now since it works great for my needs.

Just tried v6.10.2beta2.

  • There's a new login window that now works with password managers (LastPass and 1Password tested) - thumbs up for that!
  • Help page is no longer loaded at browser startup - thanks!
  • No login required on browser restart, provided evernote.com cookie is allowed to persist.

There is a newer version of the Web Clipper (6.10.2.0), but it doesn't install: FF 50.1 says it's broken.

Just spent half an hour believing I could finally come to an end to this major mess. Tried everything including adding the ".evernote.com" exception and carefully following the guidelines mentioned before. Here are the results :

Firefox 50.1.0
Evernote clipper 6.10.2 beta2

Results :

* the last evernote clipper (6.10.2 - not the beta version) won't install : says it's corrupt !! (hullo ? has anyone been testing before putting online ? ... is there anyone testing at all ??)

* the beta version of the clipper keeps showing this red point everytime I open Firefox , meaning I'm not signed in. If I click on the elephant, a popup appears and I can insert both my login and my password. Then I'm logged in. If I clip a page, it does not save locally, which forces me to open Evernote Desktop and sync if I wish to access my notes. Yesterday, I clipped several pages and - shame on me ! - forgot to open the desktop app and sync. My internet connection went down for some time and I couldn't access my notes after clipping them !! How charming ! This is definitely a BUG for me as the extension was not designed to work like that. This is more than a regression.

When I exit Firefox, and reopen it, the red point is still present ! If I click on it, both password and login are present, so I "just" have to accept, ... but is it still acceptable ?

Regarding all those points and the time I spent , I really think I'm losing money at the moment. Money that I've been investing in my work as well. I'm not a paid beta tester, as of now, and don't want to be. I'm waiting until the end of the year, and will seriously consider either giving up my paid subscription or quitting Evernote, or both if the problem is not solved at all.

Like I said above somewhere,  it's currently 6.10.2 on one machine that I use and (currently) it's 6.10.2 beta1 on my main machine.  (Check in options,  because the main Clipper Window still says 6.9.3,  but the Options page says different...)  Both working well,  though not clipping to my local hard drive.  :(

EDIT 18 Dec..  -In case anyone hasn't noticed my deliberate mistake,  the reason Clipper shows 6.9.3 on the drop down is that I was on this thread when I triggered it.  That's the page subject coming up,  not the version number!

So this is one month later, I'm using Evernote Web Clipper 6.10.2, updated today.

Yet, both the problems reported on day one of this thread, over a month ago now, are still there:

  • Evernote Web Clipper does not log in automatically and I have to look up the password manually (!) in my Password Manager each time I restart Firefox
  • Evernote Web Clipper opens a new tab each time I restart Firefox with a "Quick start" guide and video

Both problems started with this new clipper, got released without proper "real-life testing" - and apparently no support (one month, c'mon guys?).

In the mean time, I have been trying Microsoft's OneNote and can recommend a switch as the only viable solution I've found.

I tried 6.10.2. The help tab doesn't open every time I open Firefox, so that's fixed. But I can't use it at all. It makes me sign in first, which I tried to do. I type in my info, the window sits there for five seconds, and then it disappears, but apparently I'm still not signed in because the little red "x" is still sitting there next to the clipper icon. After that, every time I click on the icon to clip, a blank window pops up for about 1 or 2 seconds then disappears. Back to 6.2.0. (Don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm running Windows 7.)

Evernote Web Clipper 6.10.2 + 3 released

This is what I can read on Evernote forums (posted Dec 23rd, 2016). Rubenb posted it and so, I figured it would be the final episode of the clipper story. Alas, when I go on the official Firefox download page :

https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/evernote-web-clipper/versions/

the module download is impossible. A message indicating the module is corrupt shows off. This has been the case since it was published.

Is there going to be an end to this ?

Firefox 50.1.0, so I guess, the latest official version.

(and by the way, a message pops up when I click on "install" on this page. Says the module was not verified by Mozilla so I should be careful about it. But I guess it's standard procedure related to Mozilla publishing rules. Yet, the message also stipulates that this version can't be installed for the above reason.warning.JPG

I thought this missing option, WebClipper to Evernote Windows, was a bug that eventually would be fixed. So this time i decided to swallow the inconvenience for quite some time and don't waste time reading long community threads. Well then!

I understand that you really wanted to go the route with Firefox WebExtensions, get some out of the box coding benefits, and sacrifice web clipping to windows.

But removing essential functionality, that you should know is deep in user's workflow, is serious. I have not been warned directly.

Have someone been approached by Evernote, asked to sign up for email alerts (or RSS feed) on "Very important product changes"?

That would have been professional, and I wouldn't have the feeling that I should spend some time testing alternatives.

..forgot to say: Also tons of new bugs in the new WebClipper shell.

Really no need to use it at all, because it fails to clip much of the page 4 of 5 times. Specially when making a selection.

So it is copy from web page, new note, paste, copy from  web page title, paste in title field and so on.

Evernote for Windows also struggle a little these days:
Notes need to be edited more often than before it seems, to be readable Undo hardly works, definitely not when pasting.

Strangely enough, the latest version of the webclipper published that was supposed to solve all problems (6.10.3) for Firefox 50.1.0 has disappeared from the Firefox Add-ons page. Seems like @rubenb has disappeared since his last publication which mentions something that does NOT exist (anymore).

Evernote Web Clipper 6.10.2 + 3 released

Well, everything's fine. Users are left by themselves. Really unprofessional.

So I have the problem (2nd time in last couple months) where since last night, my evernote cannot connect to evernote servers from my home. This is a complete pain in the ass, because without the local save option, every time I try to clip a web page, I cannot. The evernote clipper just sits there, icons spinning, trying to bring up the organise section. There isn't actually another way I know of to easily clip the web page with the right formatting etc as clipper does. In the prior version with local save, this is no issue as the note is clipped locally and syncs to evernote in the background, seamlessly once EN server issues/internet issues are resolved.

PLEASE, PLEASE bring back local clipping. I am seriously less satisfied with EN since this change happened. You do not realise how many issues it causes until the change came about.

Although I love the cloud backup/storage and the whole sync thing, this type of issue is the reason I will never, ever go 100% cloud by choice. I need to be able to access my data when I want to and no matter how reliable EN side is over time, it always tends to fail when I need it!  Cloud is my backup, not my primary. With the local storage option, you turn internet/en issues like this into a near non-event, vs a complete failure. Local save has to benifit EN as an organisation greatly?

Please can someone from evernote comment on this. If the feature is never going to be brought back, I need to look at alternatives to the clip tool and in extreme, Evernote.

Hi.  Evernote don't (usually) comment on individual issues - if they identify an issue,  they'll work on a fix and release it when they can with no particular fanfare other than a release note here (also usually).  I totally feel your pain - my usual working process is to grab a clip of a confirmation web page or email and add my own comments and tags in Evernote.  Every time I clip now,  I have to manually sync before I can continue.  Also I recently clipped a page of banking details which I wanted to encrypt - which is now somewhat less secure because it went to the cloud before I was able to encrypt it.  Memo to self: don't clip personal stuff.

Even so - we won't know whether local clipping is coming back - or even possible - until Evernote is ready to release something - or @rubenb is able to comment...

I'm with pjsmith on this. You can only rely on the Cloud if you have 100% network uptime which NOBODY has.

And if it's not bad enough that I can't clip locally on Windows/Firefox, now I've lost ALL my local/offline notes on my iPad because it has updated to the latest version of Evernote, which kept crashing and would not run until I removed the app (which also removes all the data, i.e. offline notes) and reinstalled it.

But now the app is running, it will not download any offline notes or notebooks, so I can't get them back. No matter how many times I try everything (including turning the setting off and on again, removing the app from memory and reloading, restarting the iPad, leaving it sitting waiting to download with the app open for a full 12 hours, everything). It refuses to cooperate.

I don't know of any way to roll back to the previous iPad version and disable updating it EVER. If someone could help me on that, I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise I have paid for something I can't use.

What a car crash these updates have been. I feel really let down, because I have relied on Evernote; in hindsight, perhaps too heavily.

Using Waterfox 51.0. Latest up update of web clipper won't install. Installation dialogue box says it cannot be installed because download "appears to be corrupt". Using version 6.2 of web clipper opens the clip dialogue box and allows me sign in, but doesn't select anything on the webpage to save. Really disappointing as I use the clipper quite a lot, and it'll be a pain if I have to keep using a different browser just for this purpose.

I'm currently using Clipper 6.9.3 quite happily with Firefox 53.0b2 although there is a newer version that I don't like much.  Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Clipper in your Firefox and what exactly happens if it fails?  Have you tried the clipper in other browsers like Chrome?

Clearly will still work if you have the app installed,  but the current clipper versions now include a 'simplified' option which is pretty much the same.  If you really want Clearly, this app developer - http://readable.tastefulwords.com/ - was taken over by Evernote to create Clearly,  but the original bookmarklet app still survives.

And no,  there's no 'print' option in Clipper - just use the Browser print function for the page,  or print from Evernote for articles and clipped selections.

Greetings to the list!

I seem to be having a problem with web clipper 6.13.2 on Firefox 61.0.2. I am running OSX 10.12.6.

Sometime recently the webclipper just stopped working. I have tried removing the web clipper ad in, removing firefox and reinstalling. When I go to a page, any page at all and press the webclipper nothing happens.

It does work fine in chrome but I don't really like my workflow changes in chrome.

If I go to the firefox plugin debug page I see this for the firefox web clipper...

Reading manifest: Error processing background.persistent: Event pages are not currently supported. This will run as a persistent background page.
Reading manifest: Error processing options_page: An unexpected property was found in the WebExtension manifest.

I see lots of people talking about problems with the clipper in firefox but not much troubleshooting to resolve it. Is there someway that I can help or get some pointers troubleshooting the incompatibility? I would love for this to work again.

Hi.  I don't think there's a current problem with Clipper not working at all - if you (re)install Clipper do you log into Evernote normally?  Can you check options to set a default notebook for clips?  Is it possible that Clipper is working,  but saving the clips somewhere you're not seeing them...?
