Autocorrect does not behave as expected - and is relentlessly annoying

Idea

Autocorrect in the desktop version is inconsistent with other autocorrect experiences (iOS, for example, which does it well).

On Mac Evernote desktop, when autocorrect acts incorrectly and you want to revert to your original word:

1) CMD+Z should undo the autocorrect action, returning to your original word. Instead it undoes the typing of the original word; you have to type the word again and the process repeats itself;

2) backspacing over the autocorrected word and retyping the original word triggers the same incorrect autocorrect action.

In both cases you are in loop, forcing you to engage the suggestion pop up to proceed - which is both disruptive to workflow / train of thought and annoying.

To reproduce, try to enter the name Babitha in a sentence:

RE-TYPE
-> type: Babitha
-> "Tabitha" autocorrect suggestion bubble appears (ignore it)
-> type: [space]
-> autocorrect incorrectly changes Babitha to Tabitha
-> backspace to delete Tabitha
-> repeat steps above for some, endlessly looping result
CMD+Z
-> type: Babitha
-> "Tabitha" autocorrect suggestion bubble appears (ignore it)
-> type: [space]
-> autocorrect incorrectly changes Babitha to Tabitha
-> CMD+Z starts over at step zero - nothing has been typed
-> repeat steps above for some, endlessly looping result
