  1. Hi, I have the professional membership of Evernote. Could you restore the function that can search notebook in the "web clipper"? I think it's waste a lot of time to pull down menu when we without that function.
  2. Web related: #1: Repeatedly having to click a link as a frequent user creates frustration. New users will sign up, they don't need it to be the front-and-center call to action of the page to do so. #2: Landing page after log in should be the "Notes" page, not prompting you to create a new note. Notes, by their nature, are referred to more so than they are created. Mobile: #3: Clicking anywhere, as opposed to the icon in the lower right corner, should initiate editing a note. IDEALLY: wherever a user clicks within the note is where a cursor should automatically land, instantly opening editing mode in the spot clicked. I love Evernote, and correcting these 3 issues would make me love it even more! Please feel free to add an UX-related issues to this thread. If these have been mentioned before, I apologize in advance - mods, edit accordingly.
  3. Hello. I'd like to say that I didn't appreciate too much the change on the user experience when selecting the Notebook for a note. (Version 7.15) Before, it showed last used notebooks, but not anymore. Besides that, current screen takes a long time to load so user has to wait before being able to make any choice. I currently have 185 notebooks grouped under 15 notebook groups.
  4. Feature proposition : add a small area dedicated to tags directly in the editing note interface : This feature would give the user the possibility : to quickly see which tags are used on the note, to be able, by clicking on the keyword used to tag the note, to list all the similar notes tagged with this keyword >> improvement of the navigability through similar notes, to easily add new tags to the note (without having to go to the back interface through the button "i") What do you think? All the best, Alex
  5. Hi everyone, I wonder if there is a way to turn off the feature in which Evernote Web prompt a link for me to click on whenever my mouse is hovering over the text that is embedded of that link. If there is no way to turn it off yet, I will create a product feedback. This feature really annoys me when I have many nearby texts that contain link. The link boxes keep prompting and I cannot work with my note. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, I will update with a screenshot. Thank you!
  6. When i go to facebook.com or amazon.com i immediately get to do what I visited the side for (in this case shopping). When I go to evernote.com I actuall want to go to https://www.evernote.com/Home.action. I sure bet it would make Evernote Web more usable and more appealing when I would be able to get to it when visiting evernote. I as the customer with an account wants to use the service I paid when browsing to the service provider. I actually only found this forum because i wanted to complain about the above stated problem. Sure the homepage might be home of the "Forum" Link and maybe other links you might consider important. I rarely need non-service things (such as Forum and whatnot) so why don't you redirect evernote.com for existing users to EvernoteWeb and then provide a Button to go to the "home page". Evernote would become better when you would add that. Thanks for reading
  7. Hi Everyone, I am a premium Evernote user for more than two years. The RTL Support makes poor user experience for me & any Arab & Hebrew user (Population:300Million). my idea is to have an automatic cursor positioning depending on the language you use. So, when I change keyboard language from English to Arabic to automatically move the cursor to the right of the new note. What I am doing now is writing a word in arabic then highlighting it to show the iOS menu (the one which has: cut, copy, paste.) then Changing the orientation to the right of the note. Most of other apps have this feature. Thanks!

    Feedback on User Experience

The new beta experience is sub par. In fact, it's worse off. It feels like you made a good product look pretty just because you could. The functionality is less efficient, navigating around my notes/notebooks feels cumbersome, and generally I agree that less is more, but it seems like you went too far with going "less". On that note, I want to make a comment about the experience of trying to use tables. It's very hindering that we cannot edit the tables after they are created. The auto-sizing of the columns is downright horrendous. For example, I use Size-Up on my Mac, and resizing the window smaller makes the table smaller, fine. However, making the window take up the full screen again does not put the table width back to 100%, as it was before. I read somewhere that Evernote doesn't want to take over, or compete (or whatever), with more robust note taking software. But let's be real, I would bet that there are a lot of people that want Evernote to do just that. Why hold back on features that are very helpful (damn near essential) for people that want to use your product? I will admit, however, that the aesthetic look/feel of the beta is nice. But the functionality went completely the wrong way. I'd rather have something that works well, than looks nice. Overall, I don't understand why Evernote is holding itself back.
  9. I'm studying computer science and I have a strong passion for user experience/interface design. I haven't been the biggest fan of Evernote and I've realized that it comes down to a few pretty simple issues that I feel would enhance the usability of Evernote for many people, including myself. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate what Evernote does and the quality/reliability. However, I would love to see it improve in the following 4 main ways (in order of importance in my opinion): 1. Have a "Sort by" setting for each notebook so that it can be sorted by things like the date they were created/last edited (or user's chosen order). 2. Have a quick and easy list entry (comparable to Google Keep) 3. Change the reminders...I feel they should be a separate thing within evernote (possibly displayed on a calendar style layout) with a note attached to them (rather than the reminder attaching to the note). I would also like the option to have a recurring reminder. 4. Allow for a larger hierarchy of notebooks for better organization beyond two layers (good for OCD people like myself) A point of lesser importance: I would also love to see one or more alternative layouts/color schemes available if possible...I feel this makes a big difference to potential users. Perhaps take some inspiration from EverMemo or Google Keep.
  10. Dear all, is there a way to dis-able the automatic drop-down and whatever-evernote-does when keying in a search term? To be frank, this feature introduced end of last year is destroying my 'pleasant' user experience with evernote. Whenever using the search function, keying in the first characters (or term) triggers a drop-down with the recent / saved 'similar' searches and makes my evernote stall for quite some time (recently for almost a minute) (c.f. attached snapshot). I can understand that this feature requires evernote to run through the notes and/or recent search history to help the user, and with a considerable number of notes this takes time. What is extremely annoying is the fact that I cannot even help to shrink the search (script) universe by keying in further search words as I am stuck in the aforementioned stall. I run evernote on Windows and have around 3500 notes spread over 10 notebooks. My primary notebook / most frequently used contains around 2000 notes. I suspected in the beginning that the 'symptoms' described above were related to this notebook and the fact that I hit a certain performance ceiling. However, the "search stall" has become a constant annoying feature in all notebooks. I really like working with evernote and would love to learn 1.) how to disable this search feature; 2.) whether there is a recommended not-to-exceed number of notes per notebook 3.) how to efficiently organise notes to avoid this feature or help the evernote search function to perform better. Thanks for shedding some light on me ! Servus from Brussels, Rainer
  11. ( If you can't see the image for some reason, here's a direct link: http://cl.ly/image/2D3i0N0x2637 ) A small clarification: The problem is that when you want to show that tag from all of your notebooks - you have to manually select a different notebook, which then automatically deselects that tag. You then have to search for that exact tag again on the tag list. Pretty frustrating since it happens all the time. Thanks in advance, Zeev.
  12. Hi, Is there other person who prefer the previous user experience concerning the web clipper ? On safari 4, the oldest version just launch the evernote app and create a new note directly inside the app. It was really more efficient, because we can access directly to all the functionality with real comfort . Add a long comment directly inside the screen capture, add images etc... Now we must do this in few boring steps : 1 - Catch my page. 2 - Try to enter keywords ( if I hit Enter when i want to add new tags by error my note is clipping etc.) 3 - Waiting for clipping ( not so long ) 4 - Open evernote 5 - Waiting for synchronization 6 - and just at this moment, i could edit and arrange my web clipping Before : 1 - Catch my page 2 - automatically open evernote app 3 - Could edit and arrange my web clipping in my usual user interface If like me you prefer the previous user experience, comment this post ;-) Hope Evernote read our suggestion and propose 2 different option for clipping : the new and the previous way. PS. I'm not an english native... Be indulgent with my writing style ;-)
