  1. Hi, how can I restore deleted notes? Thanks
  2. My File looks blurry some looks like the via has redacted the info. What the hell. And I can only upload 500...KB so you can't see how f'd the file is.
  3. Hi, I want to do some clean up for my old notes (My notes are taking a lot of spaces). Because we don't have the "auto-remove feature for Trash" and we cannot search notes in Trash, I have to delete my notes manually in Trash, which wastes a lot of time. For Apple Notes, notes are searchable even in Trash, and notes in Trash will be auto-removed after 30days, and will be completely removed from iCloud from the next 40days. It is very convenient, we don't have to search for notes in Trash to delete manually (for e.g. look for notes in Trash which is older than 30days). I hope Evernote can implement some features to easier remove old notes to save spaces.
  4. IS THERE A SETTING TO NOT SEARCH THE TRASH ON THE PHONE? (I've looked, not seeing it.) I've discovered FacileThings facilethings.com and combined with Evernote it seems to be a easier way to acclimate to GTD. In the process I've deleted and almost tagged my 4000+ notes. They sync fine with web.evernote but not the phone. On the phone I have items I trashed on the app that are still show up on the phone with a -tag:* search. I know because when I search notes with -tag:* I get 193 results on app and web, but 594 on the phone. I've cleared the phone Evernote cache (account>settings>clear cache). What else should I try?
  5. It's way too easy to delete a note without realizing it. Would love to see a warning "you are about to delete this note" or pop-up confirming "do you really want to delete this note?". Way better than sifting through the trash to find accidental deletions in the slurry of intentionally deleted notes that perhaps share the same name...
  6. Is it possible to reposition the position of the trash Folder? It resides way down at the bottom after all of my tags.
  7. I opened my Evernote desktop app window, and ALL of my business notes were gone. I use Evernote for work, so this is a HUGE issue. Notes are not in trash, not in the web app, nowhere. I did not manually back anything up, as I believed everything would be stored on the web. PLEASE HELP.
  8. I've been using Evernote on my mac for a few years now, and I have 10 versions of Evernote in my applications folder. When it updates to a new version, it doesn't delete the older version for some reason. Older versions of Evernote are using up over a GB on my hard drive for no reason. Any time I've tried to delete the older versions myself, it says I can't empty the trash because some files are locked. But I can't find the files and I've never been able to find information about it online. I can't believe I'm the only one with this issue though. Does anyone know how to get rid of the older versions? I've even tried deleting the current version and just wiping all traces of Evernote from my mac and starting over - doesn't work.
  9. Hi, 2 days ago my phone was stolen, and the person who did it, delete all my notes of my evernote account and also from trash, so is there any posibility to restore to a last point , or get all my notes back because it was not me? thanks
  10. Hello, I'm a long-time user of Evernote, I like to copy-paste articles from the web and read them later on my preferred device, I'm quite happy of such tool. However it's not so perfect at all, not on this particolar "issue": deleted notes on the trash bin are losing their formatting, especially the older ones. I could move them to another notebook but on mobile it's faster to delete and keep them on the "trash" notebook... My main language is not English so please bear with me. Thanks in advance. Bye.
  11. Deleting notes, fine. Works great and goes into the trash like it's supposed to. Does anyone know how to delete the Notebooks via the web, or even the iphone Evernote app? I have a bunch of " conflicting ...." & useless notebooks that I can't get rid of or drag to the trash, and the delete option ends up not being available in the edit menu. With a lot of them, it's just a useless note, in a notebook. I can delete the note in there fine, but the notebook still exists. It's really just starting to look cluttered. Many mess... much annoying.
  12. Emptying Trash is suggested as a cure for syncing problems. However, there are those who want to keep 'trashed' notes available for later search. To keep that option available, one must either 1) move all 'trashed' notes to a new 'Ex-Trash' notebook or 2) export all trashed notes. (Restore' doesn't help here because that puts each note back in its original notebook rather than keep all 'trashed' notes together.) But sometimes the 'Move' runs into the problem when the 'Move to Notebook' button is dimmed; or the 'Export' either issues an error dialog or a dialog indicating all selected notes were exported when in fact no notes were exported. Possible workarounds for these 'Move to notebook' or 'Export' from Trash problems: Sign out of the account and back in. Or select a smaller set of notes and Move (to an 'Ex-Trash notebook) or Export. (If the problem recurs, select a still smaller set. Problems with a multiple note selection might disappear when notes are selected individually.) Repeat until larger sets of notes can be successfully moved or exported.
  13. Has anyone noticed that the "Date Deleted" column in Evernote for Window's trash bin has been cleared prior to May 29, 2016? I have a few thousand notes in my trash bin and just went in to retrieve something and noticed that the Deleted date is empty on most of them. It would seem some version of Evernote I installed either cleared them or the server did. I am putting this in the Windows forum, but honestly, it could be a Mac or iOS version that did it. I get betas on all 3 platforms. Not the end of the world, but kinda frustrating, and something I hope isn't repeated.
  14. Just found out that my most used notebook in evernote, with over 600 notes, all tagged, is moved to trash! I'm pretty sure I didn't do it. It's my most active notebook, there's no reason for my to delete it. In fact, I don't even remember any of the notebooks I created. I hope someone can explain how this happened. I managed to restore the notes from trash, but all the tags are now gone.
  15. thankfully this is a hypothetical quesiton if i delete a note from a notebook, then delete it from the trash, then buy evernote premium afterwards, can you recover that note ? thanks
  16. Usually you hear horror stories of people losing data because they didn't backup, but in my case, my horror story is due to a slip of the mouse, and I accidentally selected "Restore Deleted Notes" when right-clicking on the Evernote "Trash", instead of "Empty Trash". Now I am staring in horror, watching Evernote restore hundreds of deleted and redundant notes to my account, because the "Restore Deleted Notes" option does not warn you that it's about to restore the deleted notes and give you an option to abort the operation. I dont suppose there is any way to "undo" a "Restore Deleted Notes" operation, is there? If not, I would like to submit a formal Feature Request to the Evernote Mac development team to implement a modal warning dialog box to this feature, so as to avoid mistakes like this. Either that, or implement a user-definable "Empty Trash after xx days/hours/weeks" option, so the magnitude of making such an error won't be as bad as accidentally restoring notes from an infinitely non-expiring Trash folder.
  17. Hi, I had this problem months ago and now it happened again. I deleted a note accidentally and there is no simple way to find the trash if you don't know where to look. I remembered it was easy to find online, but in the months I didn't connect they changed the UI to make it hard to find online too. So in case you have the same problem, login online, from the homepage ( https://www.evernote.com/Home.action ) click the 2nd green icon from the bottom (left bar) named "notebooks". To your surprise (or at least mine) there lies the trash. The trash is one of your notebooks. No, it does not make sense to me. I'm trying to attach an image to make it easier to find. hope this helps, alfonso
  18. Halo, I have trouble syncing my Evernote in android. It wont sync. I have checked by logging into evernote web. my updated data from my android is not showing, but if I sync my evernote in windows it works just fine. But I use my Android all the time so I need my Android to be sync, otherwise why I need to use evernote if the sync failed. in FAQ page it suggest: Empty your 'Trash' notebook - Sometimes a note in your 'Trash' notebook will cause sync problems. In this case, emptying the 'Trash' may resolve the sync issues. There is no way to restore notes once they have been emptied from 'Trash'.Uninstall/Reinstall Evernote - Before uninstalling Evernote, ensure that all your notes are synced and visible in Evernote Web. You may also wish to backup or save a copy of your notes. How to uninstall and reinstall Evernote on your device.I am going to try emptying my Tras.h Notebook in my android as evernote suggest. How to do it? since I didn't find the option to do it in Trash Notebook. But The main issue is the syncing matter. Could anyone help me with this matter.? I Have attached my Account and device info and also my log for refference. Best regards,
  19. Hi, perhaps someone has come across this? I want to empty my Trash. I've read the guidance for Android but the only option I get when selecting a trash note in Trash (using three dots) is to "restore note". No other option avalable eg to fully delete or remove from Trash. Thank you in advance for any help. Regards graham.
  20. Trash is good. No need for starting the computer for save a note. And the new note button is adjustable in tablets. Fix and improved camera function (don't know more, hope it's meaning that there's no need for 2-4 pictures to get a scan...)
  21. Deleted notebook of 19 notes. I can see them in the trash, but am unable to restore them. Please help, someone.
  22. Maybe this is a feature request? I'm not sure. But I would like an explanation as to why whenever I apply and update to Evernote it has to dump all my local notes into my local trash on my Mac. This doesn't seem so secure and I sure don't like it. I'm on my work computer and have to empty the trash. I have over 6,000 notes at this point and it takes over an hour or more to delete. Meanwhile my system slows way down. And these items in the trash are also being backed up by our system administrator which I don't like. Can someone explain the good reason behind this process? I feel most apps today can update the app itself without copying and then deleting all data. Thanks so much, Bobby
  23. HELP HELP HELP. I may have accidentally deleted a note, i have looked in the trash but its not there , i tried restarting my phone . nothing !!!! I started the note on my phone. and it was supposedly synced to my other devices, my other device is a mac but i cant get a hold of it right now.. I really need the note back ! what do i do ??
  24. A note I've been editing just... disappeared. Sorry, I really don't understand what has happened. It's been there, but not any longer. So, my question: where is now trash folder? Help section is not very helpful in this respect. It encourages me to get started with Evernote 5.0, or to learn more about annotation, but nothing about important stuff, like keyboard shortcuts or location of trash.
  25. If anyone can help. One of my notes has disappeared. Is there any way to recover it?
