  1. Hello, I'm new to the forum (not to Evernote) and apologize if this is not the correct forum and/or if this issue has been addressed. I am working on a late 2011, 13" MacBook Pro, running Os Sierra 10.12.6. Following is my problem: If I right click on a note, the formatting options appear (bold, italic, attach, font, size, indent etc.). However, if I take my cursor off the formatting window, in order to select the text I would like to format, the formatting options disappear. Does anyone know how to fix this, so that I can use the formatting options? Thank you very much, Laurie
  2. I tried to search if this was asked before but with no luck. I wish that note formatting tool bar can be customized. For example, I don't use Google Drive, so I want to hide this button!
  3. There is no print-preview button to choose for the toolbar. Before I print a note, I need to check the preview. Nowadays I have to select print-preview from the function menu. See: http://www.evernote.com/l/AKbLxuThuuZIGo4ctpGsfThb9mwh-0rh5OU/ Cheers, Tom.
  4. Evernote has been missing from the Share menu in the Mac task bars for over a month! Has any progress been made in restoring it?
  5. Hello, I am QuasiBasi and I am new to the forum. I like Evernote a lot and I'd like to give a feedback on a bug that I found, so maybe the developers can fix it in the next releases. Or maybe you'll just tell me that I don't know how to use Evernote, which may be more than possible. The issue is very simple: if I hide the Toolbar and then I make a search in the notes (I use a shortcut for the Menu Title "Search Notes..."), then the toolbar is displayed again and doesn't hide automatically once I complete the search. Actually, I think that the internal state of the toolbar is hidden (even thought it's still displayed), because if you use the menu, then it proposes to Show Toolbar. In fact, if you click Show Toolbar, then the menu Hide Toolbar appears and you can hide it again. That's it, if there exists already a solution to this, please let me know. Best, QuasiBasi
  6. I've just switched from a PC to a Mac and find myself searching for the Increase/Decrease Indent buttons that I am accustomed to on my PC. I have found that there are keyboard shortcuts for this function; however, I firmly believe the buttons should be added to the tools at the top of each note, near the font, formatting, align left, etc. buttons that are already there, the way they are on the PC. I can find a button much easier than I can go "Format>Text>Increase Indent" and much easier than I can memorize yet another keyboard shortcut. Ironically, the buttons I am requesting are showing above, in this very box I am typing my request in - but not on my MacBook. I hope you will consider adding them to the Mac version of Evernote in an update very soon! Alternatively, the ability to drag and customize the toolbar would be wonderful!
  7. Hello there I am missing a feature to take a screenshot within a note and add it to the position of the cursor or the end of the note. This button or whatever should be on the editing toolbar of the note. I am thinking it should go something like this (step by step). Click "take screenshot" button on the editing toolbar Note minimizes Crosshair for screenshot taking appears (similar to when you make a "new screenshot note") Select area to take screenshot of Screenshot is added to the position of the cursor or the end of the note Note maximizes again at the position of the new screenshot The option to take a "new screenshot note" is for me mostly not very useful, because it creates a new note every time and i mostly want to combine several screenshots into one note. Please consider adding something like this. Thanks and best regards, Leu
  8. To Evernote Development team: The teeny tiny icons next to notebooks/stacks/tag shortcuts in the navigation sidebar are way too small and too gray to distinguish from one another. Could you please: 1) Make the icons larger/more distinguished. Color or even some sort of shading would help. 2) Allow for setting a color for the icon/label, for easy picking out when I'm navigating the sidebar. 3) Color coding elsewhere, such as for notes, the tags themselves, and notebooks. These colors could automatically carry into sidebar shortcuts. Thank you, Judd Volino
  9. Is it possible to customize the Evernote toolbar on Mac OS? I'd like to have the search bar visible and available while the main window is at its minimum width (I work on a 13" Macbook and often need multiple Evernote notes open at the same time). Currently, at the minimum width, the search bar is cut out of the toolbar. Somewhat annoyingly, the "+New Chat" button remains, even though I never use the chat. It would be nice if I could reorganize the toolbar so that the chat button is the furthest to the right and then when I need to scale my window down to the minimum width, the chat button would disappear but my search bar would remain visible. Screenshots attached.
  10. As an Evernote user who writes Evernotes on a laptop, I like to save screen real estate whenever possible. Most applications, especially those that are built with the purpose of reading and writing text, provide users with the option of hiding toolbars. The multiple Evernote toolbars occupy approx three inches of unmodifiable grey space, so while I ruin my eyes reading my notes I have the pleasure of also having a redundant customized toolbar filled with icons, whose keyboard shortcuts I have memorized or never use. The ability to effectively modify toolbars won't confuse or lose users, but the inability to read your text without going into presentation mode or copying and pasting into a more user-friendly application such as Notepad or Microsoft Word will. I heard this complaint before. Thanks, Justin
  11. I have begun using Evernote recently, the Premium edition, and am quite appalled at seeing titles next to the oh-so-obvious and well-known icons. What a waste of space. I have made my bookmarks on Chrome browser icon-only, no words, which is so helpful when I'm working on several screens and multiple pages at once. If Evernote had the same ability to choose icon-only, my Evernote would also be much easier to manage, rather than having to spread horizontally across a screen. Please think about providing this icon-only as an option to "Customize Toolbar". Cheers, - Celia
  12. I love Evernote. I think the "slick new look" of Evernote 6 is great. But I've grown concerned about the usability of the product. I noticed that with each Evernote release comes new things to click. Each new thing makes things more crowded. It's finally gotten to the point where it's seriously affecting the usability of Evernote. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about: Why are things that I never use (and frankly, the great majority of the users) taking up valuable screen real estate and hiding the features that I think are important? This can be easily fixed by adding the option to customize the generate and note editor toolbars. I'm sure I'm not the first to propose this, but it's been bearable until now... I can't even see the search bar without expanding the note window to cover up everything. Is an option to customize these things in the pipeline?
  13. Product Feature Request. I'd like to have the option to have more than one Shortcut Toolbar's at the top so that part of the shortcut's aren't hidden. This is an out of sight out of mind issue, but if the shortcut's would wrap around underneath the other shortcut's that would be very helpful to eliminate this.
  14. Is there a way to widen the toolbar? The search bar is longer than needed. When I drag a button onto the toolbar it gets lost on the down arrow. Thanks in advance for any help.
  15. I would love some assistance with re-discovering my Evernote Toolbar. It is missing. I have tried every possible exploration, but I cannot change font, add check boxes, or any other useful thing besides type text into a document. Has anyone else had this issue? Thank you.

  17. I'm trying Ink Notes on a Windows 8.1 laptop/tablet convertible. My only issue is that so much screen space is lost to the Evernote 'chrome'. This bothers me about Evernote in general, but using Ink Notes on a smallish, landscape, screen it is even more bothersome. I opened the Ink Note in a separate Window, and this helps, of course, but the note still has 3 toolbars: - notebook, tags - created, update - ink note toolbar This Windows tablet only works in landscape mode, so though each toolbar is very small it takes up the entire width of a line. The 3 toolbars could easily fit on one line, but that doesn't appear to be an option. Ideally I would hide at least the first two toolbars - I don't think this is possible but want to double check here before giving up (it makes a huge difference to usability).
  18. Hi Would it be possible for Evernote to implement favourite colour palate in the toolbar? Open colour palette taking precious real estate on he desktop during note formation Image 1 Ideal placement of favourite colour palate within Evernote toolbar Image 2 Skim free PDF utility software can do it... Image 3 Any suggestion appreciated Ed.
  19. Skitch does not remember what tools and color are selected on the toolbar from document to document. The user is forced to re-select their desired tools and drawing color for each image when trying to mark up multiple images. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open an image 2. The default color is pink. Set it to orange. 3. Set a different line thickness than the default. 4. Select the rounded rect tool from the toolbar popup 5. Save the document and open a new one with CMD-O Result: All the changes you made to the toolbar revert to their defaults. Expected: App retains the user's settings on the tool bar between documents. This does not scale, it gets more inconvenient and annoying the more you try to use Skitch. This is a regression from earlier versions of Skitch. 20. What happened to the "New iSight Note" icon in the last update? It's not among the choices for customizing the toolbar. I use that icon a lot (as well as photos on my phone).
  21. New Windows 7 64-Bit comptuer runing EN 4.6.7.8409. I customize the toolbar to my liking, sync, completely close EN, open EN, the customizations are gone. Toolbar is back to it's default state.
  22. So I had *hoped* to be able to tweet a note directly from EN. I assume that's what the Twitter icon is for that I dragged onto the toolbar? I select a note and click the Twitter icon and......................nothing happens. What am I missing? v4.6.7 If I click the "Share" button and then "post to twitter" EN does exactly what it is supposed to do....works fine.
  23. Hi, New Evernote user here. I'm using the latest version of Firefox (and I tried this in Chrome as well) and I can't see my toolbar. I tried using keystrokes with the control and alt tags and none of those do anything. Also, I don't have any WSYWIG commands at the top of my notes. Here are my questions: Where to I go to create the toolbar? What do I need to do to get keystrokes working in Evernote? How do I get my WSYWIG commandsWhere do I create or delete tags?Screen Shot Attached. Thanks
  24. Just encountered a slight graphical issue. - Click on the skitch button in the toolbar. - Press Escape to cancel - Click on the drop down arrow to show more toolbar items - Results in a large white bar that spans the screen. (or just the shadow for this bar) instead of the menu items. This doesn't always happen, but it is repeatable for me. Also, not really sure how related this is, but the first time that it happened, I had quite a lockup of the screen and everything went unresponsive for a while. It hasn't happened since, so I am not sure what to read into that. 25. Evernote has been great on my Mac; using it for trade journal notes on investments & other stuff. Helpful would be a text color icon (like the one above) that could be inserted into the toolbar rather than going to Format>Text Color. Not a big thing; just useful. Good trade/day Hide your head in shame & the notes about other things. Thanks
