  1. I make extensive lists in Evernote using the "check box" icon. Suddenly, when I print a document, those boxes no longer show up. Just the text next to it. Anyone else have this problem?
  2. I am reaching out to see if anyone has the same interest in: Automation of tagging Example 1: if i put a To Do "Box" in my note it would be nice if a tag "To Do" was added automatically So i guess I trying to understanding if anyone else would OR has the need for automation within Evernote. I believe it would compliment the Evernote platform.
  3. Please find a way to make all text in Moleskine notebooks extractable & importable into other uses/applications (like calendars & To Do Lists). At present, it's supposedly "searchable." However, the search never works for me. This was the whole reason I got the Moleskines & Evernote Premium. As I understand it, it's supposed to only be searchable, and it simply inserts images as a jpg (rather than doing anything with the text.)
  4. I use Evernote for academic purposes and I'm often selecting several bits of text to add to the same note via the Mac services "Add to Evernote". At the moment, Mac service Evernote create a new note for each addition. I would like an option that is "Add to existing/selected note" and 'Add to new note"
  5. Hi all! Love Evernote! Use it both private as business. Very important for both is the TO DO function! Can't go without it ;-). But...... with all those notes and different TO DO list I lack overview. So who can help me with 2 questions below? 1) How can I make sure my unfinished/unmarked tasks are in the top off the list and the marked are down in one single note? 2) How can I get a total overview of all unfinished/unmarked tasks of ALL notes? So a master view so to speak? This should be the answer according to Evernote but I can't get it to work: list all the notes in your account with unfinished tasks, click inside the search field, select Add search option > Contains, then select 'Incomplete todos' from the list of options. So above does NOT work: who can help me with Q1 and Q2? How can I get a totall overview of ALL outstanding/unmarked/unfinished TO DO items? Thanks!!!!!
  6. Hi - Would be great if I could have one master to do list that is automatically populated from individual note to-do items.. I would use a special character or key code or something to mark to do items form individual meeting notes (as I write or after) that then also show up in a master to do list that I can reference.. Saves having to go back through all sorts of notes to pick out the action items. Don't think I can do this today with Evernote.
  7. I am a BIG fan of the Evernote "To Do" Checkbox feature, & I use it daily. LOVE that I can search for my notes for all UNCHECKED items! I also use the handwritten note upload, taking photos of things I've jotted down that need to be added to my notebooks. What I'm wondering ... is there any thing / tool / way that I can mark or flag a note when I write it so that on upload Evernote will automatically create the "To Do" checkbox -- in the vain of character recognition just that I want it to "recognize" that this note contains a "To Do" item as well. Willing to use whatever is necessary to do this ... I have iOS devices, both Mac & Windows platforms (client versions) on computers and a Premium account. From Moleskine to Penultimate & even Livescribe ... I will use whatever it takes! Thanks for any ideas of suggestions. Pamela
  8. I've reached the conclusion that Evernote is a dream for collecting, note-taking and archival (of some things), but I don't want to use it for task management - I've been doing so, just to avoid re-entering data in another app, but it's not a fit for me. I guess I actually like to use it the way its creators intended - as an "external brain" that collects data and eventually stores it long term. But I want to work with/through that data outside of Evernote. What I'm looking for is a system that lets me import things from Evernote and then use them as I see fit. Zendone is too focused on "inbox zero", which isn't quite how I work. Because I'm incredibly picky about my to do management (I want reminders and due dates on some things, not on others, I need notes, I need web and iPad support, etc.), I'm not asking you guys so much to find me a tool as to let me know if I'm missing an easier method of accomplishing what I want. I've looked at task management apps that accept emails since EN can send that way, but very few keep the body of the email, and those that do strip the HTML which is a problem if the body contained research links necessary for the task (then I have to go hunt them down in EN anyway). I've looked at Zapier and IFFFT, but they don't seem to have any options that will work. If I have to cut and past from EN into something else, then I guess I will. It just seems like there really ought to be tools out there to make this happen more automatically. There are so many apps that allow you to send to EN, but very few that fetch from it - or even do a good job of handling emails sent from EN.
  9. On the windows version of Evernote I was able to mass uncheck all the to-do boxes. I am having trouble finding this option on my new mac computer. Does it not exist? If not, can someone recommend another program where you can mass uncheck all the to-do's? I need a program that I can use every week for the same tasks, and manually unchecking 50+ tasks a week takes too long..
  10. I've been using Followup.cc for a while to set up reminders by email - it's the service where you join your email address, then send emails to "2weeks@followup.cc" to get a reminder in the appropriate time. There are variations for days, dates, times etc.. and now there's a Beta service for their Evernote integration, which also allows you to set up repeating reminders. That's not supported in Evernote (big surprise) but it is possible using Followup's own (paid) services. Repeats can be edited on their website. Oh - and you can create a note and add tags and tasks with #<tag> +<task> as part of the process. More information here - https://followupcc.groovehq.com/knowledge_base/categories/evernote-integration-beta-feature and here https://followup.cc/addons
  11. I'm sure this is addressed someplace but I couldn't find anything... Is there anyway to put reminders or alarms on individual notes? If not are there plans to do so? This would be a great feature! RBSplat "This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when the baby gets hold of a hammer." ~Will Rogers
  12. Hi Everyone! Is there anyone that have figured out a way to make hand written to do's and make them searchable in Evernote? I woud like to be able to write to do's in my normal notebook (mixed with other notes) and highlight them with a tag, symbol etc. and after each meeting, I will scan the page, and Evernote should then gather all to do's from different pages and note books into one Evernote page with to do's only. That would for me be the function that got me to really use Evernote. If this is not possible to do, I am very surprised. Doesn't more people want this function? Must be easy to make. Thanks! Best regards, Johan
  13. Is there a way to sort To Do items? I have a note with all of my To Do items. Some are checked as completed, some are not, and they're all mixed together. I'm looking for a way to sort by status so I can more easily tell what needs to be done. Any way to do something like this? I've been searching the forum and the web and haven't found anything helpful.
  14. Hi, My day-to-day work involves lots of meetings. I currently use paper and pen to take notes in the meetings. What would be the best way to do this in Evernote. So far I have set -up]: - One Notebook called 'meetings' - Notes within this notebook for each type of meeting (e.g. different people/ functions) - Each note would then have two types of info; a) important notes and action items for either me or my team to work against How can I then: 1. Compile all of the 'to do' items together in one Note to save me going through each note individually (ultimnately with a note per meetign this could be 100s of notes very quickly) 2. See who is assigned to complete each of these items Thanks!
  15. Hi Guys, I take meeting notes regularly with Evernote and I have a bunch of to do items added into them as the meeting progresses. Currently I use a saved search "todo:false" to find anything I haven't done yet, but because it is all over the place as to where the items could be, I want to try and put them into two new notes "To Do" and "Done" (automatically shifting to the done pile when they are checked). Is anyone aware of a way I can get this to happen? I am not fussed about them being removed or synced with the original note (i.e., they can stay in there, that is actually a good thing anyway), but I do want to copy them out, plus useful info such as the original notes creation time and the note name (so I can reference back easily). I'd like them to end up in the new note something like: [ ] To do item as from the original note [Original note name] {Original note creation date} Then when it is complete, shift it to the Done note. Happy to only do it once or twice an hour if that is the best way to do it. Been digging around IFTTT but can't seem to figure out a way to do it reliably. Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers Chris
  16. Hey Evernotians! You simply must build an integration tool for Finish or some other form of similar reminder tool. it needs to be pretty flexible to set up so whatever form of daily/weekly/lifely reminder set up a give Evernote user has in place can be connected to the reminder system easily. Finish is huge and you incredible people can distill that approach to reminder management into some kind of tasty green interface that will, again, instill great loyalty, love and enthusiastic proselytization for your products and services. PLEASE, I don't need to integrate another tool into my external brain! I want you to do it! I will give you money! Mike connector of dots
  17. I know Evernote acquired the company behind Egretlist well over a year ago, and, after that, the App remained inert. I only just noticed that it had been removed from the App Store, though, and I can't remember Evernote announcing any plans to discontinue its development. Does anyone know what happened there?
  18. Created a note with a to do list on my macbook Pro. The note itself synced to my iPhone, but the to do list does not appear. Any suggestions?
  19. hi there. I'm using the 'to do checklist' in notes. How do I set it so when I 'tick off' a task it gets deleted? Thanks a lot.
  20. The most pleasant news that i read sometime ago was that Phil Libin telling business insider that To Do which have been popular is coming. Having said that I wonder how people envision their Do functionality will be shaped Evernote, the popular note-taking app that wants to be "your external brain" has recently been adding more apps to its roster: it first bought the popular screenshot/sketching app Skitch, and yesterday released two new apps, Evernote Hello (a contacts manager) and Evernote Food which is, well, like Evernote for food. What's coming next? We asked Evernote CEO Phil Libin point-blank if to-do lists, which are a popular use for Evernote, are coming. "To-do lists are coming," he said after taking a deep breath. While Libin gave us the traditional line Silicon Valley startups always trot out about not wanting to "kill" anyone or "seeing the world in a zero-sum way", we're sure this will give cold sweats to the legions of to-do apps like Remember The Milk, Things, OmniFocus and others. So many people already use Evernote to organize their lives that, if it's as well thought-out as Evernote's other apps, it will get many people to use it. Libin also took pains to stress that it wouldn't look and feel like traditional to-do list apps. "I don't want a to-do app, I want a DO app. I don't want a list," Libin said. Perhaps it will look like OneTask, the productivity app we use whose utter simplicity has made this writer more productive. Here's how it work To do have always been implemented differently but they can be generalize into the following funtionality A detailed task with a due date, possibly a start date with a note A status field Reminder functionality Repeating and scheduling of task Generic Tagging functionality Projects Subtasking to 2 or more levels Cloud syncing every where I am thinking Evernote will have other ideas and it will probably touch on 1,2,3,4,8 thats all. what do you guys think
  21. I have been using Evernote to keep track of the daily assignments that I give to my employees. The title of the note is usually their Name and "To Do" and the date. I then list and number each task for them to do. Some times this list might be 20 items long and have some notes. I review their completed tasks and create a new note for the next day. Here is my issue: I want a new note with the next date on it, but they do not always complete all the tasks. So in order to create a new note, I copy the text from the day before and paste it in the new note. This means I have to go back and re-number items. This process is not that big a deal, but it does take time. Is there a way to roll the note over to the next day, put the new date, remove the completed items and have it auto re-number. I have set them all up on Evernote (but we have not implemented the ToDo list in a shared notebook yet, but it will be coming). Ultimately, I want this to end up being a shared item so I do not have to print it and I can update it as things change during the day and they can use the check boxes to show completed items. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  22. I have the last EN version on Lion. If I edit a note and create a checklist, when I hit enter it doesn't create a new checklist. But it does if the note is new.
