Hi Everybody I have a Desktop Evernote (18.104.22.16887 (306387) Public (CE Build ce-1.36.3494)) installed on my Windows 10 Home edition 1709 Version. Since a couple of month both Evernote Icon on the start menu and on the taskbar have no evernote logo on the icon. I have tried to uninstal and install it a couple of times withous solving the problem. Another interesting thing is that when Evernote is running on my computer, it creates another icon, instead of showing that little white bar under the icon fixed on the taskbar. Thank you for your comments. All the best,
Evernote for desktop generates a duplicate icon in the taskbar in addition to the pinned program icon. It ends up making my taskbar look very cluttered when I have Evernote open; I'd appreciate a more seamless, integrated look. Instead of adding a blue bar to the bottom of the pinned icon, a duplicate icon with the blue bar appears alongside the original. From what I have read, this is an incompatibility issue that can only be resolved by the developer (https://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/04/fix-duplicate-icon-issues-on-the-windows-taskbar/).
I like having Evernote pinned to my taskbar for easy access. However, everything I update, its icon disappears from the taskbar. It is a minor annoyance, but it would be great if it would stay there.
This issue is really bothering me, so I created an account here just to ask for help. I installed Windows 10 Pro today and Evernote is the only app that isn't behaving normally. The app itself is fine, but when open it produces a second icon in the taskbar. If you pin either icon they are both pinned, and the same with unpinning either one. I have tried pinning the .exe in the Evernote directory to no avail. When Evernote isn't open, only one icon is present in the taskbar. But once opened the second annoying icon appears, whether or not Evernote is a pinned app.
