Hello, Wouldn't it be great if Evernote could recognise bookmarks and clippings you've already tagged and made notes on?! Also via the Firefox addon button - let's say I'm on a webpage and I've added it as a bookmark to Evernote - but I've forgotten to add a few extra notes after viewing the rest of the webpage. Now, if I click the Firefox button again, it won't recognise that I've already clipped/tagged it and I can't see what I just entered, and can't make any quick amendments to it. So so frustrating... When I click the add-on again, I'd like to be able to make a few m

I want things I scan to automatically get a tag for “student’s name.” Is there some way I can mark the student’s papers — with a bar code, or a checkmark in a certain spot, or a big number in the upper left that will get OCR’d — anything, really! — so that a corresponding tag will get applied to the Evernote note when it’s scanned? I’ve looked at some integrations (Rocketbook) but haven’t found anything quite there yet. I’m open to workflow thoughts, too! Many thanks, g.

A wish list, I guess. I clip a lot of stories, articles, reviews – for research, or the basis for further work. This involves subsequent organization into overlapping and constantly developing areas of interest. I find myself wanting to be able to do two things: 1. Highlight and annotate text in notes. I know you can do this with pdfs, but I wish I could highlight text selections or add comments to things in notes – much in the way I might use a highlighter in a physical book or notebook, or scribble some comment in the margin. 2. Add the same new tag to multiple notes. My a

I am reaching out to see if anyone has the same interest in: Automation of tagging Example 1: if i put a To Do "Box" in my note it would be nice if a tag "To Do" was added automatically So i guess I trying to understanding if anyone else would OR has the need for automation within Evernote. I believe it would compliment the Evernote platform.

Hi there, I know this topic has existed somewhere here, but I hope someone could help me out here, as Evernote may have since done a workaround. My question for this perennial issue is - Is it possible to automate the tagging system with newly imported doc? If there is this solution, am I able to 'switch off' the auto tagging whenever I want? Thanks very much for any suggestion here. Cheers. Ash.

Hi, I ran into an issue today while preparing for a business trip. I will be without a PC for a few weeks and using my iPad. (Internet access will also be limited.) I have trip-needed documents in several folders on my work PC with (mostly) PDFs and .xlsx files, as well as a few other random formats (.pptx, .docx, .msg). My goal is to have all these documents easily accessible on iPad for my trip. I figured the best way is through the Import Folders function in Evernote Windows. I did this and got all the files into Evernote. These are all downloaded to my iPad as I utilize the "Download

Notes I create using web clipper in chrome have a tag already assigned to them. I want to eliminate this apparent "auto tagging." This started a week ago. I discovered one forum post on this issue that was closed though contained a link to a supposed solution, but that turned out to be simply the support page. Searching endlessly produced no answer, though I noticed requests for having the ability to auto tag notes. Well, it seems that EN already has it, but I can't figure out where to turn it off. Ideas welcome.

I have search to no avail to find an answer to this question. I am a premium user and am sharing notebooks with my co-workers. I found out yesterday that EN will not let my boss tag a note he created in a shared notebook with a tag that doesn't exist yet. I had to go into the note myself and tag the note. Is this correct? Is there a work around?

Say I highlight text blue in multiple notes as a form of tagging text down in notes, does there exist a third-party tool that will let me see all the text from multiple notes (displaying like it's all in a new note) highlighted with that color?

Hi, Is there a way to assing tags to phrases, sentences or paragraphs within clipped or copied content and then display the tagged bits according to the assigned tags? I mean a similar feature to what qualitative data analysis software does. Perhaps via some sort of extension? Thank you

Great iPad upgrade recently. Finaly it is posible to combine a normal text search with multible tag searching on the ipad after taking it away a couple of years ago. This is also possible on the windows version. Nou after manny years of asking I ask it again Please make this also possible on the Mac version. Then the Mac version wil be mature and I don't need a window emulator on my Mac or use my iPad anymore.

I started to rely heavily on tagging after seeing what good it could do. I had long refrained from tagging notes because I knew how unreliable syncing was when it came to tagging. I realized this 2-3 years ago. Now I'm back to tagging notes and see that the problem remains and hasn't been fixed. I see tens of tags not syncing in my account. Why does Evernote do nothing about it?? I don't even bother to ask customer support, because I know it won't solve any problems. Yet my curiosity remains. Why does Evernote not fix it? I'm a user from Korea. Is this particularly a regional issue? Then what

Is there any way to replace Evernote's awesome hierarchical tagging system on any of Evernote's alternatives? Now that Evernote has reduced their "seamless access on all devices" to "seamless access on 2 devices", I am thinking of switching to something else. The main thing I'd miss about Evernote is managing my learning. I tag every note with: Discipline. Some things are multidisciplinary. For example, my notes on the book "Thinking, Fast and Slow" are tagged with "Summaries", "Cognitive Biases", "Key Mental Models", and "Education - General". I can easily synthesize my learni

Hi Evernoters, I'm a church-based family worker who has been using Evernote since 2008. I use it to store meeting notes, logs of pastoral visits, sermon notes. I also have a resource library notebook of scans, notes, and web clippings on work related topics that, at the time of writing, contains over 1,200 entries. Despite this, I have never gotten my head around how to best use tags. I dabbled in the past but I ended up deleting them all in favour of a prefixing methodology. For example, meetings note titles always follow this format: YYYY MM DD Meeting: [Person/Reason (eg. Staff)
