  1. It is annoying when all my previous search words appear in the search field already by just entering a single letter. It would be nice, if one could turn off the suggestions. Same with the tag suggestions. Or is there an easy way to delete them now and again?
  2. Hello, my name is Marcus and I would like to send some suggestions to make the Evernote mobile Application even more powerful.Add the application new colors to the characters. 1. Add the color change option in the characters you typed. 2. Make it possible to include notebooks in notebooks for better organization of notes. 3. Include the option to insert tables into Evernote projects. 4. Add a very useful feature, to be able to hide entire blocks of text, leaving the show, just the title, that reveals its contents when clicked on it (just like the "inspect element" options in the Google Chrome). Please see if these changes are possible as I use the app every day and I really like it. But I miss the features listed above. What Do You Think?
  3. Hi, at first, sorry if there are too many grammar errors, because i am german, but i try my best for that Topic: so i use Evernote since a long time and have some Suggestions for the Program: (Windows 10 Desktop Version) 1.) Mark of shared content (especially Twitter, Facebook and so on) It will be cool, if i can Mark shared Notes, (for example with a color in the List) that mean, that i can immediatelly see i have the note already shared! 2.) control character like in Word If i write, i miss the control character (German: Steuerzeichen) it will be cool if i can fade in and hide him, like it in Word and so on. Best regards :-)
  4. I would love to use tags in the Evernote Desktop app more often, but use less effort in doing so. Perhaps Evernote could suggest or automatically append tags as I type the note, and I can approve them as they appear, or after I have written the note.
  5. You should add a button for existing users to log in below the signup button. I have to click the sign in link on top even though Chrome has auto-populated the login and password area. Its not a big deal but just annoying that I'm prompted to sign up every time I visit the site
  6. Hi. I'm a big fan of Evernote and have been using it for at least 3 years now. It's undoubtedly the best app of its niche, by a mile and half. However, the latest iOS Evernote's versions for iPhone and iPad left me with the impression that the developers put great effort on the interface and changed it so much that it worsened the user experience. The app was just fine. Now there are lots of things that are 1 more click away, which is bad UX. Other things you just can't customize, or can't filter. For instance: if I want to filter my notes by date reminder, there isn't an option available. The filtering options are few. We have to have all the options available, like on the Desktop version. Also if you want to create a reminder you have to click on a button, then select the reminder. Then the icon appears, then you click on the icon. Then you select that you want to add a date and then you have to roll until you get to your specific date. See how many clicks? That's just bad UX. BTW, this calendar format should be changed. It's terrible to roll forever and ever if I want to create a reminder for, say, a year from today. And I frequently do this, so having a more flexible calendar would be better. You guys could look into that Also, sometimes when writing a note, if I roll up or down, the keyboard sort of freezes and disappears, then a semi-menu pops and locks in the middle of the screen. To make it disappear I have to roll the page all way down and then up again. Just weird. To sum up: good UI, not so good UX. That's my take on the new version, but I'm sure you guys will keep on adjusting and making it better. Please, take into consideration the things I pointed out. The windows version is fine, btw. Thanks!
  7. Evernote allows you to record a meeting that you're in and take notes. But it doesn't sync the audio with the notes. So if I'm in a 2 hour meeting, and later realise that I was unclear about a certain point, I need to struggle through 2 hours of audio to listen to a 10 minutes section. Can Evernote make an update to the product to sync the text with the audio? Many note taking products do this, Notability being just one of them. If I need the section of audio, I just select the text that I was typing when that part of the conversation happened. This would allow me to rid myself of Notability, and just use Evernote for everything. Thanks, Jason
  8. It would be handy to see the url when the cursor is in linked text - like the link preview bar in the bottom left of Chrome etc.
  9. I am an ardent Evernote Fan. It organizes my life, my thoughts, but not my steps. Why? Because it doesn't have an easy and simple list making mechanism. You know one where you simply give it a title, add an item and swipe to one side to remove it, but keep a copy of that satisfied list item for research sake. I have a rudimentary list making app now called I Do Lists (on IOS) . It's one deficit is I can't share it with a contact. It seems a natural fit to have something like this in Evernote. Creating a list with a checkbox just doesn't substitute for this ease of functionality. There has been quite a bit of discussion out there Why Evernote is Not a To-Do-List , and I realize that a To-Do-List would involve even more functionality than I'm looking for in terms of prioritizing projects, etc. But it does show that there is significant interest in this area for Evernote. I'll hope they'll hear my plea and consider adding this useful functionality to platform that touts itself as " Evernote empowers people to fulfill their personal and professional goals. We're doing this by building a 100 year company on a foundation of incredible technology and design. We're just getting started." So get started adding List Making to your repertoire!
  10. I have been an Evernote Premium client for many years now. I have made many suggestions through Customer Service and some in the forums also. But nothing seems to be done about my suggestions (I just added a note to a questions about page numbering in footers that I made exactly 3 years ago!!!). I had an issue with Hootsuite recently and, after tech support resolved it, I suggested that they make a change in their help files and better explain the particular procedure. The Hootsuite CSR pointed me to the Hootsuite suggestions page, where I made my suggestion very quickly. Someone replied back that it was easily done and would be taken care of after the holidays. Anyone who goes to the Hootsuite suggestions forums (https://feedback.hootsuite.com/forums/40182--hootsuite-com-web-dashboard) will see that thousands of suggestions have been made! And some of the suggestions have thousands of votes and hundreds of comments! Hootsuite uses UserVoice for suggestions. Evernote should consider using UserVoice or similar for suggestions as well: by letting Evernote know what is important to the user base, I think it will really enhance the engagement level of Evernote users! Hope someone at Evernote listens to this! Thanks, John
  11. My intent is to be able to view my notes in List View with the following columns: Name, Tags, and Due Date. Obviously the first two are currently available, but the latter is not; the only way to currently view due dates on notes is either in the Card or Snippet views. Even then, thought, you're only able to view notes with due dates separately from the notes themselves. I think the addition of a Due Date column in List View--with the ability to sort them--would create a better flow. It would not only give me an easier way to view upcoming tasks/notes, but also be able view tasks/notes that need to have a due date. If I didn't already imply it, notes that don't have a due date would simply be clumped together at the bottom or top of the list (but not separated from the rest) based on how you sorted the list. With this addition, it'd also be nice to have a pop-up dialog box for adding due dates to notes without having a open the note itself (i.e. right-click context "Add Due Date" that opens a dialog box for adding a date/time). Not only would serve an easier way to add due dates, but give us the ability to add due dates to multiple items that need to be due at the same time (or due dates removed from multiple items). If you guys could add this option to Android/IOS, as well, we'd be best friends. I must also add my most needed request to each and every suggestion I put on here: please, please, please, add multi-select with multi-tag/-move/-delete of notes in Android/IOS. The mobile OS for each already provide a native way of long-press to multi-select. Thanks for the great product, guys/gals! I've been a faithful premium member for over 2 years now, and don't see me changing that anytime soon. Keep up the good work, and God bless!
  12. I'm a new member of Evernote. I'm not sure where to post my ideas. Did not see a forums listing for it. My idea is to add these features. Highlighting and Progress Bars. Thanks
  13. Hello, One of my daily workflows in Evernote is to dispatch into folders stuff that is inside my inbox folder. So I regularly use the Folder pulldown and start typing something. However, the search function in the pulldown is alphabetical rather than 'filtering'. So as to constrain the list of folders from which to pick and choose, I always add two characters such as PS or WK in the folder names: Home.PS Errands.PS Friends.PS Expenses.PS Errands.Wk Expenses.Wk This way, when I search, if I type in PS, then the filtered list only shows folder names with the PS string in the name. Any chance I can have this in the next beta ? F.
  14. I trade the Forex market and I track my trades by keeping an Excel file and also by taking a screenshot of each trade. Unfortunately, this means I have the information in two separate places. I have the general trade notes (i.e. Time, Price at open and close of trade, Profit or Loss, Notes about the trade, & some other fields) in Excel, but then the screenshots that show the chart candles are not right there with the notes. It makes reviewing the trades a disjointed process. Is there a way in Evernote to have a screenshot of the trade side by side with the info I currently type into Excel? Thanks for the help!
  15. I've tried using the much anticipated Reminders feature for a while, but have since given up on it, finding it actually unusable (I don't want to, I'd like to keep using them!) Why? Because they are not handled well by Evernote, and in general they hang around like a bad smell, getting in the way like yesterday's newspaper It seems the only way to get rid of them is to go in and manually delete them – which is really not the way to handle temporal events Here is what I can offer with the time I have available to devote to this issue: Why aren't they in the sidebar, and out of "Notes"? Why isn't there a case for an "expired" (i.e., the date has come and gone), but not marked done reminder? These need their own treatment (i.e., hide them), they don't need to hang around collecting dust – it just makes Reminders unusable Even if you mark them done, they don't go away as they should; and in fact, even so much as clicking on Reminders automatically checks the "Show Recently Completed Reminders" Box ! Are users expected to go into EN and delete reminders after marking them done? If that's the case, why even have a marked done status? TL;DR: Reminders are a very cool idea, need to keep iterating on it, don't just leave as-is to rot! This is a first attempt and there are almost certainly going to be issues like this to fix This analysis is done because I like Evernote and want to see it improve; it's a valuable asset to me and my work, so thanks very much for it
  16. Hi all, When I use the web clipper, I see evernote shows me a few "related notes" - at least evernote relates it to the capture. I can´t say it´s always accurate, but I like the idea and would like to be able to have this option in Evernote... Is it possible to "see related notes" - especially with photos? If not, it would be a great feature to add!
  17. hello, i want to create a huge database on ancient history. this request is regarding creating a document kind of application which has a fine search facility. for example, i want to start writing notes on illiad. i ideally would like to open a simple word kind of document and start writing notes. notes may vary in size, 2 lines/10 ines/ couple of pages. i can leave a line space between the notes to differenciate between two notes or i can number them. now, when i search for a word or words , the notes containing that word should appear (of course in editable/open form). if i search for achilles or war strategy or children of zeus, the notes with the word should be displayed. and only those notes should be displayed and not the entire page on which the note is written. because there could be other unrelated notes on the same page. so, the unit of inputting and search output is very important. and that could be a note as i have described. many academic researchers and others too are looking for a product like this but not finding one. after i finish illiad, i may start on mahabharat. i will open a new doc and start writing notes. thus, i may write notes on many more books. therefore the search facility could be multilayered. if i search for 'chariots' on the first level, all the notes containing 'chariots' from all the books could appear. and if search the word within a single book, the notes from that book only could appear. as evernote has created a good convinient note based app, i am requesting the experts to please create something like what i have described. what we have currently is a little tedious for my kind of job. everytime i have to open a new note/window to write a new note. then i need to think of tags etc. but if all these facilities are incorporated in simple document form, it would be easy to write and search. forgive me for explaining it in detail and in non technical term as i am no expert in this field. thanks.
  18. Love the product and am always thinking of new features that can be included. So, what if there was a way that a formula could be calculated if written into a note? Is there a way that this can be done? Origin: I use my notes for many things, one of which are grocery lists. It would be helpful to use the note to calculate the amount of the items on the list for estimating budgets, etc.
  19. It would be nice if we had one folder designated for automatically importing AND the option to tell evernote which account to import them into when two accounts exist on the same installation
  20. This ar some suggestions that arose from daily use. If anyone has more and whant me to put them on the list, just reply this thread. Evernote in general: Ability to place a link to another note. For example you have one note that is a list and some items are explained as other notes Windows program: Ability to show notes as a post it on the desktop (gadget maybe?) Android app: Ability to create a widget that is a note (not a link, not the current widget that shows several; I mean a SINGLE note as a widget) iOS app (don't have iOS device so this will be empty 'till somebody drop a note):
  21. Hi I wanted to make a post about suggestions I have. Perhaps people have suggested these before if so, so what?, it only goes to show that they are wanted... To folks that read this I'm not going on the warpath and neither should anyone else if you read this the suggestions are in full here https://www.evernote.com/pub/sentinelgre/evernotesuggestions and only because I'm a kind of visual guy (isn) for disambiguation and quick reference here's the list which is explained in the notebook much better Shop suggestion - how the shop should behave Sharing suggestion - how the sharing windows can be clarified Standalone internet browser - where it could go and how it would work Standalone web search - where it could go Annotations interface suggestion Cascading lists similar to explore evernote for user defined stuff I wrote these tagged for mac only because I use evernote on Mac mostly (iPhone too) it may be that windows users have different interface but if they don't have any of those features I think they would benefit from them too George
  22. I would like to suggest, if already not in developement, the option to tag a tag. That means being able to associate tags with other tags. For example, I could associate the tag "Arnold Schwartzneggar" to other tags like "governor", "actor" or "male". So everytime I add "Arnold Schwartzneggar" as a tag, the other tags would "tag along". This way the user would be able to reduce significantly the number of tags needed to add to each note, be able to easily add tags to pre-existing tags, and would REALLY help note organization (maybe even revolutionize it). Thanks, Pedro Ken
  23. Hello, I love the "outline view" in Pages and Microsoft Word. I find seeting up a page with heading, subheading, and point form notes very cumbersome in Evernote, to the point that I thought it might be easier to make an outline in a word processor, and import it in. A different suggestion is for the viewing mode. I know you can have drop down menus in the left bar, but it would be helpful if you could see all the levels at once: Stacks, Notebooks, and Individual notes all in one flow. There does not appear to be an option for that, and there is lots of room for it, even on my little macpro 13" screen. I hope this is helpful!
  24. I'm studying computer science and I have a strong passion for user experience/interface design. I haven't been the biggest fan of Evernote and I've realized that it comes down to a few pretty simple issues that I feel would enhance the usability of Evernote for many people, including myself. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate what Evernote does and the quality/reliability. However, I would love to see it improve in the following 4 main ways (in order of importance in my opinion): 1. Have a "Sort by" setting for each notebook so that it can be sorted by things like the date they were created/last edited (or user's chosen order). 2. Have a quick and easy list entry (comparable to Google Keep) 3. Change the reminders...I feel they should be a separate thing within evernote (possibly displayed on a calendar style layout) with a note attached to them (rather than the reminder attaching to the note). I would also like the option to have a recurring reminder. 4. Allow for a larger hierarchy of notebooks for better organization beyond two layers (good for OCD people like myself) A point of lesser importance: I would also love to see one or more alternative layouts/color schemes available if possible...I feel this makes a big difference to potential users. Perhaps take some inspiration from EverMemo or Google Keep.
  25. if you added a feature that allowed users to compare two similar blocs of text, drafting attorneys around the world would unite in rejoicing. And who wouldn't want to see that? Oscar
