  1. If Evernote's team think this will be so hard, just look at this application be reference: https://leanote.com/ It able to styling the text with markdown: The normal rich text editor also able to apply predefined styles to texts:
  2. I know EN does not try to be a word processor, nevertheless I think it would be very handy (in PC versions at least) to define text "styles". I have a number of text styles I use in my notes that involve a particular font, color, size, etc.. At the moment I have to select each piece of text within the note and repeatedly set the same font, color, size etc. in order to have consistent formatting. In the case of the font itself, this means having to scroll through a long list of fonts to find the one I want every time (usually Courier because I want fixed pitch on that section, but I don't want the whole note in Courier). I try and use the same styling in most of my notes. Does anyone else think being able to define a handful of styles would be handy ? They could then be selected in a drop-down list on the formatting toolbar.
  3. Option to create your own heading styles and add shortcuts to them would be super effective. At least create predefined styles like mac notes app has. This basic feature is needed, the only thing that stops me from completely switching from mac notes app. That and simpler harmonious design, a little better synchronization.
  4. A quick search shows me this has been discussed in different forms over the years, but can I just add that I would absolutely love to have CSS-like styles that I can define and then apply with a click from a dropdown menu? It's really tedious having to select a header in a note then pick a font size/face/other attributes. I have no consistency for between notes because I can't memorize the size, whether it was bold or not, etc. Most paid Evernote features are irrelevant for me, but I would pay for the ability to format whole notes with colors, fonts, sizing, whatever. Thanks.
  5. I'd love to be able to have presets normal text, Title, Subtitle, Header 1, etc etc the way that Google Docs does. I rely, heavily, on visual hierarchy when it comes to text content. As such I'm big on using Various sizes of text. It's a pain to constantly hit enter > change text size > change font weight. Would love this feature. Would be EVEN better if I could tag my note with a link to my Google Drive that would then create the document (in a folder you'd set up when creating the tag) and have two way sync. This way I can keep documentation in ONE place (since I'd rather have some stuff private).
  6. I am missing one very important thing on evernote. This is styles as most text editors offers. The "bold", "italic", "size", "font" are aweful and even Microsoft Word offer a much better solution: styles. Styles allows you to customize text format such as title, subtitles, alignment, code block, quotes... While taking a note I don't need funny formatting. I just want to classify and organize my thoughts efficiently. So please, remove (or at least add an option) and replace the B I U button and Size, Font menus with one single menu with customization styles: titles, subtitiles, paragraph, emphasized text, ... 1. A section 1.1. A subsection A paragraph 1.1. Another subsection Another paragraph From this it would be great to get a table of content for each note. This feature would make evernote perfect.
  7. Hi everyone, So … I restarted using Evernote, mostly the web version, and here's my feedback: we are in 2017 and Evernote is one of the only apps I know that doesn't allow to apply styles or format text with headings and so on. IMO, it doesn't make sense. Even Google Docs allows some styles, or at least, allows to import/paste from word and maintain a few styles. Evernote does not. I kindly request the Evernote team to add this feature to your roadmap. I really want to keep using Evernote but I really need to use something better for my notes. Kind regards, pedr
  8. Hello, I'm new to the forum (not to Evernote) and apologize if this is not the correct forum and/or if this issue has been addressed. I am working on a late 2011, 13" MacBook Pro, running Os Sierra 10.12.6. Following is my problem: If I right click on a note, the formatting options appear (bold, italic, attach, font, size, indent etc.). However, if I take my cursor off the formatting window, in order to select the text I would like to format, the formatting options disappear. Does anyone know how to fix this, so that I can use the formatting options? Thank you very much, Laurie
  9. Feature request - I'd love to see some kind of feature similar to InDesign's Paragraph and Character style functionality. I understand this might not be really considered as a good feature for Evernote in order to avoid feature bloating (too many features, leading to poor UX/UI), but in case isn't hasn't been considered, here it is! I was just writing out my notes for a speech, and I've been highlighting all the quotes from others I'm using in red, and at the end I wished I had done it in a different color, so now I have to go through one-by-one and change the colors. With Character styling, I could just change it in one place.
  10. It would be tremendously helpful to have styles we can use, create, modify for easy breaking up of note content. Heading 1, 2, 3, Title, subtitle, etc Bullet styles which allow for different symbols per level This would be great in help read through notes without having to manually highlight, select a font, color, etc each and every time - just pick it from a list.
  11. Hi I've got some problems using custom styles in Evernote They are perfectly displayed on the device where I created them, but they are showed in white on my other laptop. If I change them on this laptop, they become white on the original device. What can I do? Here are a few screenshots
  12. Hey! As I am taking notes with Evernote, I have to manually create headers and sub-headers for my paragraphs. Normally I do it by copying previously created text. Although this works for me, it is not really convenient as it involves making some extra clicks&hits, i.e. scrolling and changing formatting back to 《normal》 style. Any chances of getting some simple styling options soon? Thx, Andrey.
  13. I like the color-coding of notebooks that is now available in Evernote Windows v. 6. When I upgraded on my desktop (running Windows 7) I assigned a system of colors to my notebooks by right-clicking on each one and selecting Style. When I upgraded to v. 6.1.2.2292 on my laptop (also Win7), I expected the color-coding to come through. I synced a couple of times, and even signed out, quit EN entirely, and signed back in, but nothing. I submitted this to EN support, and received this reply: However, this is the same application under the same OS, on two different devices. I can understand why styles might not sync from Windows to the Android app, but it seems to me that they ought to sync to the same application under the same OS. Frankly, there seems to be no point in doing the color coding if I'm going to have to reproduce it manually on my laptop every time I make a change. I gather that color codes on tags do sync, so it seems like it wouldn't be a problem for the same to happen with notebooks. The style dialogues for notebooks and tags are even identical, though of course that doesn't necessarily relate to how the underlying data look.
  14. Hi, Evernote has recently been updated to remove paragraph formatting styles. I was using this feature a lot and it made my notes visually meaningful very quickly. It was rather inconsistent between platforms, I agree, but still, at least it was practical. Now, to accomplish the same thing, I need to select the text I want formatted, select a font, select a size, select a style (italicized, bold or underlined) and hope I'll remember it on the next heading. I hate that! It slows me down and takes me away from writing the note to formatting it. So I've turned to the next best thing: markdown. Markdown is actually very good in helping format my thoughts while I'm writing them, which is the whole point. Now the problem is, Evernote doesn't render markdown, so I need to take my note to a third party app to convert it, and then paste it where I need to use it (like back in Evernote!). Very dumb process. I think I'm not the only one missing paragraph formatting styles and/or markdown support, here. I saw other threads talking about alternative (and sometimes complicated) work-around to this issue. I just don't see why this could be so hard to integrate. Thanks for listening. François
  15. It would be nice to have headings in Evernote, in order to have similar structure in the notes. Regards, David
  16. Is anyone else experiencing technical difficulties since updating to the latest version? My notes are a mess, especially those with checkboxes. There are gigantic gaps between items, which makes scrolling thru a list nearly impossible now. I've had to just turn off the checkboxes altogether. I've also been having ongoing syncing issues with Evernote, but now with these style issues too, I can't even look at these lists and see what I'm looking at. I am so disappointed. What can we do about these issues? Are developers working on it, or can we go back to the old version?
  17. Probably a dumb question and the answer is hiding on the screen in front of me in plain sight: Using Evernote on a Mac: How do I create Favorite Format Style so they are available on the fly when creating new Evernote notes? I have a relatively few font/formating conventions that I use when typing notes. Things like heading styles (Increase font size, add bold, change color, add space before and after) when a new subject is added) and content identifiers (to indicate for example taken in a phone call). The iPad version comes with a few formatting styles pre-loaded (the paragraph character ( ¶ )in the toolbar), but I do not see an analogous functionality in the desktop version for Mac. (And while I am at it, is there a way to add to or modify the default style options in the iOS version?)
