I have downloaded Evernote onto my laptop, which is running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2. When I try to open Evernote, I get a dialog box appear, which reads. CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER. You need to be on-line to register or perform an initial sync. Please check your internet connection. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Evernote several times with the same result. The internet connection is working, I've also checked the firewall which is set to allow Evernote to connect. Can anyone help with this problem please? Alan
This undoubtedly a duplicate post. But the search displays a popup in which the links are unclickable, and going to the displayed URL says the page doesn't exist! I'm sync'ng from work computer just fine (Win7), but my home computer has been offline for a week (Vista). I checked for updates, restarted the computer, and ensured that IE isn't in offline mode. (Don't use it, but I checked to be sure.) I still get the message that Evernote couldn't connect to the server. It happened once before, a few months ago, too. Darned if I recall what the solution was. But it was something weird.
I run Evernote on six computers and two tablets. It's works fine on all of them and ran OK on this one until today. Now it just won't sync. I get a note that says, "Can;t connect to server. Try again later." I deleted the program and reinstalled it and now I get the same error message just trying to sign in. I made sure my Windows firewall was set right and even offered the thing a nice piece of cake but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.
