  1. I frequently use Evernote to store snippets of code. The spell check feature marks variable names, function names, method and property names, etc., making it difficult to read. Is there a way to turn off spell check for just that note? Thanks.
  2. I have odd words and #'s I use in lists once in a while. I do not want add these to the directory so I click "ignore word" but this feature doesn't seem to work. I still have the annoying squiggly line underneath.
  3. Suddenly my F7 shortcut key has stopped opening up the Spell Check tool. I have verified that it is not an error within my computer by confirming that it still works in all other programs. It is only occurring in Evernote. This is a very important issue for me. I use this key constantly as I am a very poor speller. If this is not the appropriate place for this question please re-direct me. I have searched the web and it seems I'm alone in having this issue.
  4. Evernote automatically rejects an unfamiliar word and replaces it with a suggestion. I can override this by placing the unfamiliar word in quote marks. Can I disable this function?
  5. When I write (in English) the spell-checker detects for some reason every word I write as misspelled (exept words that I've added to user dictionary). When I right click on it it never give any suggestion for alternative spelling. Seems like the issue is that default dictionary is missing. Checked in options that spelling lang is set to English I'm using Windows 10 Updated Evernote recently, but that did not solve this issue.
  6. hey all, when i do a right click, or alt menu key, to correct a typo, part of the text turns greek(ish). Of course the language doesn't change, but the typeface changes into "symbol", with the exception of the word that i just corrected. A similar problem was described in 2014 by another user https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/66236-evernote-changes-my-text-to-another-language/, but no answer or solution is given. Who also experienced this and knows a fix, preferably without updating evernote? I currently use 5.8.6 on windows 7 (i downgraded on purpose sometime ago since I need multiple emails to be changed into notes in one flow, a feature that was lost in the newer versions). BS
  7. The lack of spell check for iOS renders Evernote as the biggest disappointment in App World. And it completely takes any thoughts of an upgrade to EN professional off the radar. Heck, even this "discussion" site performs spell check. What app is out there that provides the overall functionality of Evernote and has spell check operational? OMGosh I cant believe that we are still talking about something so basic and simple.
  8. I attempted to add a note in EN on my Kindle Fire and the note was essentially a list of place names in England. EN kept attempting to correct my spelling even though there was nothing incorrect. I found this to be very annoying, but was unable to find anything in settings that would allow me to turn off spell checking. Is there a way to turn off spell checking or can anyone suggest another workaround? Thanks!
  9. In my notes, spell check is suggesting to change correctly spelled words to a different language. The two words are categorize and investigate. I will attach pictures that shows the corrections. Is there a reason or a fix for this? It's hard for me to tell if I really spelled the word wrong.
  10. Is there a way to set a specific language for the spell checker for each notebook or a way to turn off spell check for specific notebooks or do I have to change my default language? I have a notebook for each of my classes but I take 2 foreign languages and the red squiggles are distracting.
  11. I misspell words, as im sure you do as well from time to time. i end up with multiple tags that technically mean the same thing but have different spellings because if im unsure how to spell a word it often gets multple versions of spelling on accident. thus i would apreciate an auto complete function that would popup when adding new tags and have evernote auto suggest tags that we might be typing despite the spelling not being correct.
  12. Is there a way to toggle the display settings of spell check in EVERNOTE? I am using an Apple iPad 2 and have just recently updated it this morning with the new OS (Version 6.13). I attempted to type around in EVERNOTE and while doing so had noticed the spell check red line was no longer displaying on incorrect/false words. The settings of the iPad 2 appear to be fine as all other apps are able to display this function without issues. 'English' is the 'Language' used under 'General' > 'International', 'Check Spelling' along with 'Auto-Correction' is 'ON' in the 'General' > 'Keyboard' settings (along with all the other preferences) and for the 'Keyboards' I am using 'English (Australia)'. However, EVERNOTE fails to display the spell check red lines all of a sudden. Please let me know if there is a solution to this. Thanks, Kaya
