I am moving my life to Evernote, and I'm loving it so far. However, I'm struggling to use the speech-to-text functionality, as in: I have no icon for that function. I have an Android Tablet, Asus Transformer Pad TF300T, running android 4.1.1. I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled Evernote, and am running version 5.7.1. I have searched the forums with my best Google skills, searched the web with Google, and then Bing just in case (I do NOT choose Bing, unlike the commercials. Those fools!) But I cannot find this problem. I have seen screenshots of this working on android devices, and have viewed YouTube videos of people using it with great joy. I want great joy. Unfortunately, I have no "microphone in a comical thought cloud" thing as somebody described it. I can record voice memos in a new note. But following every instruction I can find, I cannot find the "speech to text" icon, and cannot get speech to text to work. I refuse to shop for Valentine's Day until I have this problem solved. I worry that not having speech to text on my ASUS Transformer TF300T will ruin my relationship. Save me! Thank you in advance for your kind consideration. Evernote rocks.

Hopefully someone can help me solve this problem, as the Evernote support team has been trying for 5 days. I'm unable to play .wav files within the notes on my windows client (4.5.4.6498). I'm running windows vista. On my Android phone I record a speech to text note and it translates it fine. Evernote then saves the audio as a .wav file on the phone, which then syncs to my windows clients. I attempt to play the file within the note on my windows laptop and Evernote locks the note up. I'm able to jump to another note, create new notes, edit notes, but any note with an audio attachment I can't play until I totally quit Evernote and get back into it. I'm able to play the .wav file on my Android phone with no issues. I've noticed regular audio notes without speech to text are saved as .amr files. Speech to text files are saved as .wav files. My default media player is VLC on my home laptop. When I drag the .amr audio note to my desktop, VLC plays it fine. When I drag the .wav file to my desktop VLC plays it correctly. When I right click on the .wav file and say play with Windows Media Player (from my desktop), it throws up an error and says it can't play the file because it doesn't have the correct codec, so I went down the codec route. I installed the K-lite codec pack thinking that would have the correct codec, with no luck. I've uninstalled and re-installed Windows media player, checked for windows updates with the same issue. I also have Evernote installed on my work computer (WinXP with 4.5.4.6498), which doesn't have VLC installed. I see the same behavior on my work laptop, as the .wav file is unplayable and locks up Evernote until I restart my whole computer (even worse!!). After dragging the audio .wav file to my desktop rears the same error in windows media player as an "incorrect codec". Any help would be much appreciated. I love Evernote and this is the only issue I've had in the past 3 years as a premium subscriber.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of any formating that can be done with the speech to text feature. I know about the simple punctuation however is there a way to add checkboxes when making a list or bullets. Any formating or tricks regarding this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Dear EverNote Community ~ I'm a brand-new EverNote user, with a brand-new Google Nexus 7. Speech to text is not working for me. I'm apparently failing to connect some basic dots. Here';s what I have tried: CASE 1: I start a new note. I click the microphone button. The square-in-circle icon appears in the bar below the text pane. I talk. I hit the square-in-circle icon. A new speaker icon appears above the text pane. I click on the speaker icon. A panel pops up offering me "View" and "Remove" options. I click "View". The audio plays back. But NO TEXT TRANSLATION APPEARS. And I can't find any way to make it appear. CASE 2: In that same note, I click the microphone-in-comic-book-speech-cloud icon (just left of the microphone icon). The square-in-circle icon appears in the bar below the text pane. I talk. I hit the square-in-circle icon. No new speaker icon appears. Apparently this has not been recorded at all. So somebody please explain: How to get the recoreded speech translated into text?? ~ Thanks in advance for your help ~ Ken
