  1. Hello there, I have just noticed that recently my Evernote notes started showing excessive blank space on the sides and a bit on top and bottom, as highlighted by the yellow bars on the attached screenshot, while before the text was shown closer to the note border. I have updated to version (305512) recently so I would like to know if this change was introduced by the update or maybe by something I did wrong or changed unintentionaly due to some mistyped key or something. I have looked in the application options and so on, but I could not find any setting to undo this behavior, so your help is much appreciated to sort this out. Thank you so much in advance for the kind feedback and support! Cheers, Vítor.
  2. My Evernote "Application Support" folder is taking up 4.5 gigs on my puny 2011 MacBook Air. Is there a way to safely reduce this huge footprint? Why is the app such a juggernaut when all the data is stored online?
  3. This has been happening for a month or so now - often when I start typing a note title, after a couple of seconds the spaces between words disappear, running the text together. EN Version 6.10 (454267 Direct) macOS 10.12.1 Sierra

    Sharing Folders

Hi, A few weeks ago I decided to introduce Evernote to my team of developers. We decided to create an Evernote account each to share interesting articles and information we find on the internet. We created 3 sharing folders with the team, but we found out that Evernote is (most of the time) not working with Safari. Some colleagues can't place articles in the sharing folders straight from the internet with the web clipper. They simply can't select the sharing folder or add tags (see print screen) to their articles they want to store in those folders. My question is how to fix that? Hopefully someone is familiar with this problem and can give me some tips or tricks to solve this problem! Thanks!
  5. As an Evernote user who writes Evernotes on a laptop, I like to save screen real estate whenever possible. Most applications, especially those that are built with the purpose of reading and writing text, provide users with the option of hiding toolbars. The multiple Evernote toolbars occupy approx three inches of unmodifiable grey space, so while I ruin my eyes reading my notes I have the pleasure of also having a redundant customized toolbar filled with icons, whose keyboard shortcuts I have memorized or never use. The ability to effectively modify toolbars won't confuse or lose users, but the inability to read your text without going into presentation mode or copying and pasting into a more user-friendly application such as Notepad or Microsoft Word will. I heard this complaint before. Thanks, Justin

EN Not letting me add any more tags?

I'm new to EN and my account shows I have 948.9 MB (92%) remaining this month but, when I add a new note and try to add tags to it sometimes it will allow one and sometimes none. Why is that and How do I fix it? Thank you for your help. g
  7. After adding notes to notebook, I realize that my 27 Gb of free space in my Mac dropped to 10 Gb. I read that this is due to "no connection needed" settings. OK, just change that, I'll manage with local only utility... Not possible. Evernote says I cannot change that setting for a notebook... after created. Does anybody know how to set up a "no connection needed" before creating a Notebook?.... That's not all unfortunately... Removed all notes within notebook, emptied Evernote Trash. Deleted even the evernote app from my Mac... still my free space only lifted to 14 Gb!! Lost them forever?....
  8. Hello, I use Penultimate for my handwritten notes and Evernote for all my notes on my Mac and iOS devices. What I want to do is to delete my 'completed' notebooks in Penultimate app on my iPad but leave them in Evernote so I can access them on all my devices. I tried copying the note to another notebook using Evernote client for Mac and then deleting the notebook from Penultimate but unfortunately it doesn't work. Even if I copy the note (made in Penultimate, synced to Evernote) to my hdd, delete the notebook from Penultimate and then re-add the note from my hdd to Evernote, the notebook appears again in Penultimate and when I delete it - my new copy of the note is gone from Evernote. For now I can't find any way to leave my notes only in Evernote (not in EN + Penultimate) = save a lot of space and I find it very frustrating. Thank you in advance for any help.
  9. When using the evernote desktop client (windows 7) sometimes when editing a table a space does NOT emerge when the space bar is pressed. Forexamplerenderingmysentencessomethinglikethiswhichisratherannoying. In the table attached (below) (crop of screenshot) for example when I would start writing a word longer then 'relatively' in cell D3 (I added letters and numbers for essay reference) this problem would occur. The condition under which this problem occus thus seems to be a word is written into a cell which is wider then the column that the cell is a part of. When this happens the space bar is 'ignored' as it where and I need to go back with left cursor to add the required spaces to my text. I am currently using evernote version 5.7.5753, but the problem also occurred in previous versions. Please let me know if this is unclear and/or if you require any additional information.
  10. Hello! In order to save space on our MacBooks I would love to have an option in the OS X App to stop storing everything locally, instead access notes from the web. I think as we are moving our stuff to the cloud, we may rely less and less on local storage in the future and instead have gigabytes of data always available in the cloud. I myself only use Evernote in this way and it is the reason why I have to put up with the web interface, which although nice, logs me out each week and an app interface (just like on my iPhone & iPad) would be the preferred option. Your thoughts? Roman
  11. Hi all, A couple of weeks ago I jumped back into Evernote after testing it initially several years ago (back when it had the original interface that I hated, looong ago) and so far I love it. It seems to be exactly what I've wanted for years. When I signed back up Evernote had me resurrect my old account (same e-mail address) and I had about 8 days left on my monthly cycle with 0mb usage (I had nothing stored). I racked up about 250 notes in that week and hit my 60mb limit right at the end of that cycle, and considered upgrading but decided to wait and see how I use it this month before making the final decision. My issue now is that my sync usage has spiked dramatically just in the past couple of days. A day or two ago I suddenly leapt up to about 29mb usage (from a few mb) and today it reports 43.7mb! Not sure how that happened, as I still have 27 days left! I know the expected answer will be "surely you put in some very large files" but.... no, not really. As you can see from the screenshot below, these are all of my file attachments going back to the day of the rollover. (filenames removed) (The two files at 3,257kb are a PDF and a "backup" Evernote created, not sure why, maybe I deleted it and re-pasted it in the note accidentally?) I also checked my Trash, in case I had something huge in there that I subsequently deleted after it was transmitted, but see nothing very large at all, certainly not in the mb range... So my question is, why has my sync usage spiked so high? I can't see any explanation for it. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, is there any way to view each sync to see what is being transmitted to find the root cause of these spikes? Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can provide! Dave Edit Well I feel a bit foolish. After writing this post I later tinkered w/ Evernote some more and discovered the ability to view notes by list view, which shows the size of each note. I had a suspicion the issue was something pasted into a note but couldn't understand why it wasn't reflected in the attachments directory. Apparently Evernote only saves actual file attachments, not images that are pasted in. One of the images that I pasted in (a picture of a painting) today created a note 12.9mb in size! There was another image around 10mb and a collection that hit 6mb so that explains my jumps. I would have deleted this post but don't see a way to do that either, so I'm just leaving this edit here to answer my own question, and hopefully help somebody else who runs into the same issue.
  12. (The other two posts on a similar topic are unresolved, I'm hoping this one gets fresh attention.) I just started getting the "insufficient space on SDcard" message two days ago. I also get this message with Amazon MP3 downloads. I have an Evo3D (Android 2.3.4) with a16GB SD card. The SD card currently registers as having a total storage space of 14.83GB and 99.88MB free. The obvious answer would be to delete some stuff off of the SD card and free up >= 100MB so that my Evernote can update. The problem is that this SD card is nearly empty. Yesterday I plugged in the phone, mounted the disk drive, and moved all of the music and (most of) the photos from the SD card to my computer's hard drive (deleting them from the SD card). When this did not clear up the desired space, I unmounted the SD card, removed it from the phone and used my card reader to look at it on my computer. I examined all the file-folders on the SD card (and there should only be about 0.34924 GB total on the card), but my computer still registers it as being filled with 14.83GB of stuff. Has anyone else run into this problem with their SD card? Any fix ideas?
