  1. I reported this bug to tech support a couple of weeks ago and so far no resolution. When I try to drag an unannotated screenshot from Skitch to another application, or just to a finder window, one of two things happens: Skitch crashes, or The previous screenshot is dragged instead of the one I just took. Anyone else seeing this?
  2. The "Tool Size" feature seems to have no effect on the size of stamps. I am trying to markup screenshots of charts and graphs, and since the stamps are set to an obnoxiously large size, it makes it virtually impossible to use them in this way. They would be an awesome tool for what I'm trying to do (e.g., making flashcards with the "?" stamp) but until I can make them a lot smaller it's just not going to happen =/ Is there a way to change the size of stamps? (If not, there definitely ought to be!) Thanks!
  3. Yesterday I used Skitch to take images of furniture, added text (dimensions) then saved to Evernote, received the confirmation note that Skitch puts up. Today I see in Evernote the notes were posted, but there are no images. instead there are those little broken image placekeepers. Are the images gone forever? I can't find them on the iPhone 5 running 9.1 Very frustrating because I am now in a different city! Especially because I tested it before and it did work.
  4. On Mac and iOS, for documents with many Skitch annotations, the annotation summary presents as a single page that includes only the first ~20 annotations. Is this a known problem?
  5. hey to all! Wondering how can i change default hot keys for Skitch especially Crosshair Snapshot? I'm using Box app which have same shortcut for video capturing so both running same time.. And i can't find how to change it in both Thanks!
  6. I'd like a way to more quickly navigate between a number of Skitch image files. Currently, there are two views: gallery and detail image. To go from one image to another, it's necessary to back out to the gallery view, then double-click on the thumbnail to access the detail image. When working with a number of images it would be nice facilitate this somewhat awkward navigation. Two ideas: Add Previous/Next buttons and keyboard shortcuts Have a persistent view (like Evernote) on the side showing all the Skitch images
  7. Skitch does not capture color depth accurately. Please see attached (cropped) screenshot which shows the original image (captured correctly by Mac OS screenshot!) next to the poor color depth as captured by Skitch. Perhaps Skitch developers do not have professional monitors to see this discrepancy?
  8. I LOVE Skitch! I use it all the time. I use it so often that it's hard to find the pics I want by scanning the thumbnails that don't show the whole pic. 1) I really want to be able to view a full size pic and then go to the next one without having to go back to the thumbs. I want, I want, I want!! 2) It would be nice within the thumbnails to group them by folders. E.g. 4/5 Design Review Mtg Screen Grabs. Then it would be easier to find what I'm looking for. 3) I have been using Skitch as a whiteboard. I work with a team in a different city. We have meetings via AT&T Connect. They can see my screen so I get a screen capture and then mark on top of it. Skitch use to have a "bucket" fill with color function. I'd like to be able to block out part of what I've grabbed to quickly demo what I'm thinking. You've got a rectangle border tool. How about a solid rectangle tool... circle... Again, I love this tool. Let's make it even better. Thanks, Laurie

mac How do you use a fill tool?

How do you use a fill tool in newer versions of skitch for mac?
  10. Is there a way to lock the window size and position of skitch on Mac os x? When doing many screen captures I'm forced to chase the window around on my screen and can't keep it sized like I want it. It resizes according to the size of the image. I do not want this behavior. Just curious if there is a way to make it behave. Love the app otherwise.
  11. I've started seeing an odd behavior with Skitch in the last few weeks. I'm not sure what has changed, maybe the upgraded to Yosemite but I can't prove that. When I do a screen capture using hotkeys (e.g., Shift-Command-5) Skitch opens up with the image just captured. But within less than a second, a second Skitch window opens up with the previous image captured. Even if that image was captured days ago. Really odd and frustrating since I have to close the window with the prior image. The prior image has been synced so it is very unclear to me as to why this happens. I've used Skitch for years and have never seen this behavior until the last few weeks.
  12. Hi, any suggestions? Skitch was working fine until a few weeks ago and now I'm unable to capture screen shots (or anything else). Skitch generates a blank document and dutifully posts it to Evernote, but the document is blank. I've looked at Skitch Preferences, but there does not appear to be anything that can cause this problem. I'll try unlinking it from Evernote to see if that helps. Suggestions?
  13. I can't take a screenshot with Skitch. It just does not work, nothing happens when I click on screen snapper button, the button looks like it's disabled. Does anyone have the same problem?
  14. I can't login on Mac os 10.13.4 - I have an evernote business account, I deleted skitch, installed evernote and reinstalled skitch - I can login to evernote no issues but still can't login to skitch. Any ideas? Tried without the proxy, still get the same error message every time of "no internet connection" (everything else works so I defo have a connection!)

    skitch Alternatives to Skitch

This annoying "feature" with the image automatically downloading when sharing with the "Direct Image URL" option selected is beyond ridiculous. I don't think I have to go into details as there are plenty of other threads detailing why this is beyond ridiculous: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/85333-images-are-downloaded-instead-of-displayed-in-browser/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/27778-archived-is-there-a-way-to-copy-a-direct-linkurl-of-an-image/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/30716-archived-solved-auto-copy-direct-image-linksagain/ Furthermore I don't like that the URLs are so unbelievably long. Are you trying to get into guiness book of world records? However, it has come quite apparent that Evernote intends to do absolutely nothing to fix these issues (or at least offer the configurability). So, has anyone considered any other apps than Skitch?
  16. I just purchased the annotate tool by skitch for PDFs on Google drive. Using on my OnePlus 3 android. When I annotate I select done but the annotations don't save. Or if they do elsewhere I don't know where to find them. Hope someone can help.
  17. Here are my FTP settings. These are the same creds I use in my FTP program, cyberduck. http://jmp.sh/OpPJwAU But when I hit the share link option, I get the following link: https://www.evernote.com/l/Af_1ZkRFDa5A6pVjMRoK8CUkSNoQdxC4WQkB/image.png Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? thanks!
  18. Hi, Problem description: Capture a screenshot with Mac OS Skitch Attach it to an Mac OS Outlook email Send If the recipient opens the email on Outlook (Windows or Mac), he can visualize the screenshot. If the recipient opens the email on Outlook 365, he cannot visualize the screenshot. Renan
  19. Because it is difficult to explain I have made a screen cast of the thing that happens. But in short, you have to force quit skitch to place the correct image, when you keep it open it will always place the first screenshot you took (see youtube link) this only happened to me since High Sierra Mac OS 10.13
  20. Normally: i take a screen shot, and then I use the lines in the bottom middle of Skitch to drag and drop the image wherever I need it. Now, in version 2.8 unless I make some change to the image first, when I drag and drop I get the PREVIOUS image, not the one I just took. So let's say: 1) I take a screen shot of an apple. 2) I take a screen shot of a banana. 3) I go to drag and drop the banana in another app. like I have always done, but the image of the apple is what is dropped, not the most recent image... UNLESS if: 1) I take a screen shot of an apple. 2) I take a screen shot of a banana AND then make a change on it, like add a square or arrow or text and if I do: 3) I go to drag and drop the banana with a change in another app, and it works. In other words, I now have to make a change in order to drag the most recent image. This is an undesirable change from the way it was before - and I consider it a bug. Anyone agree? thanks!
  21. I admit the title to this topic is a little tongue and cheek, since I have been using the PDF Expert iOS app for a good long time. I really appreciate its usefulness for my needs. However, it cannot sync my PDFs to Evernote, and I find it too cumbersome for me to use two separate programs/sync services for one PDF. So, to see Skitch come with the ability to annotate PDFs AND take care of the Evernote syncing for me, I was thrilled. Unfortunately, it has not lived up to the level of PDF Expert as of yet, but it sure seems to have the potential to. A little background on my situation: I live in the academic environment, and so I find myself having to interact with PDF copies of various scholarly journal articles, theses, dissertations, etc. Such sources require a "power user" type program, as I am constantly making notes to myself and highlighting significant information for research purposes. In a lot of ways, PDFs are my books, and I think maybe that is why PDF Expert has been so captivating; it has been able to take the PDF concept and turn it into book form. If Skitch could tap into that same magic, I'd be willing to pay double for my Evernote Premium account (but don't get any ideas! ). Here are a few areas where I think Skitch could improve on PDF annotation. My apologies if these have already been said elsewhere in the forums: 1. Selecting text. This is REALLY important for me because it makes the highlighting process a snap. Literally, I tap and hold, the text is selected, and I can move my finger directly to the last word of the sentence or paragraph without having to drag across every single line. Not to mention, it makes for much fewer mistakes. It also allows me to copy and paste text should I ever need to. Currently, I am not using the highlighting feature at all because this feature is missing. I am too perfectionist to want to do it in the current form, because the highlighting just looks really crooked. Using lines/underlining is an ok workaround, but even with that I must drag my finger (or stilus) accross the tablet for every line, and that gets really tiring on my hands after a while. I could do without any of the other suggestions below if I just had this one. 2. More intuitive selection of tools. Kind of related to the above, it is quite difficult to get used to the maneuvering that has to be done to work about the app's tools. I can never remember to go back to the top tool (the four arrows?) to move the PDF down after using another in the arsenal. If maybe you could maneuver them into the text selection, this would be a huge improvement. Select the text, and then, as with the copy and paste commands in other programs, there are "highlight," "underline," etc. at the top. Maybe you could leave the more advanced stuff for the sidebar, like the shapes, arrow and text box. These basic ones though are actually more of a hassle in their present form. 3. Better text box. The text box in its present form is abysmal, in my humble opinion. There are situations where I find myself having to write a substantial amount of text on a given PDF, and presently I'm having to type it out as best I can and then drag and resize and hope that all of it will fit on the page. All because the text does not wrap. One workaround I have found is to hit "return"/"enter" once the text gets to the end of the page, but a needless hassle. We ditched the typewriter a long time ago. 4. Ability to edit note details either in Evernote or Skitch. Setting the author is extremely important for my PDFs. Presently, I'm seeing no way to do that, however. The tags are good, at least. But they're not enough. 5. That "cancel" button has got to go. There have been a few times where I will get quite far into a PDF, do something by mistake, and accidentally hit the cancel button instead of undo, completely eliminating all my work. The button really needs to be eliminated, moved, or at least given some sort of feature to prevent something like that from happening (dare I say an "are you sure" dialogue box?). I think I've seen other programs that have a drop down menu upon hitting the button that will have a red "discard"/"delete" button and maybe a "cancel" (as in cancel the cancel!). I don't know. Something at least to make discarding my work not so easy. 6. Return to PDF at the place I left off. I was surprised at how much I missed this feature. Some PDFs I read can be 100s of pages, so having to find my place again is a chore. One workaround I've been using is scrolling down to the last page I have annotated, but even that requires a bit of scrolling for the really big PDFs. Other, "wish list features" (not necessary, but sure would be nice!): Ability to annotate the source PDF without having to create a new, seperate "skitch" version. Ability to save the annotated PDF in whatever location I want (though the ability to annotate the source PDF would really take care of this). Ability to save annotations in the PDF without closing. PDF editing on other devices, desktop versions especially.
  22. Since upgrading macOS to High Sierra, I am no longer able to share using an SFTP account.
  23. Here's the situation: I have almost 8000 "skitches" I uninstalled and reinstalled skitch (per support advice), and then skitch seems to be sync'ing up 8000 skitches The performance of skitch is almost unbearably slow when drawing arrows or writing a text annotation Performance is often 50% or more of CPU I'm on a 2015 brand new fastest, most powerful macbook available I have 3 displays: 4K at almost max scaling, 27" thunderbolt cinema at default, and retina 15" at max resolution on the laptop. What can we do to improve the performance of skitch? It seems unreasonable that just moving a text field can take 5 seconds.

    Menu Bar Missing

Yesterday, the Skitch tool disappeared from the menu bar; it had been there previously before I rearranged my menu bar items. I'm running macOS 10.12.1: Yes, I've already tried restarting and it still doesn't appear. No, I selected the Finder and the Skitch tool was NOT hidden behind an application's menus; Yes, the Skitch app is running and in my dock. Yes, I looked at the Skitch preferences and both helper options are checked. How do I get the Skitch tool back into the menu bar? Thank you. - nello

    Skitch crashes on 2FA login

I'm unable to login to Evernote with Skitch running on IOS10. When I enter my username and password it is asking as expected for the extra security code from the Authenticator app or SMS, however Skitch is crashing when I try to enter the code. To get the authentication code I need to open first an external app, next I return to skitch to enter the code, however as soon I try to enter it in the box it crashes. Is there a workaround without disabling 2FA?
