  1. Evernote urgently needs a way to clear recent search history. I see that people have been asking for this for years, and yet it's still not an option. Where is it even stored? I can't find it in any file, or in the registry. I tried uninstalling Evernote to clear it, and my recent searches came right back after I reinstalled. While trying to find out if this is currently possible, I came across one person who accidentally entered a password in his search history, and another who entered her SSN in the search box to find a PDF, where it is now stuck for anyone to find. Evernote has a serious security problem if its users can't control their own sensitive data.
  2. SAVE SEARCHES Please tell your software people to STOP - STOP - STOP making it more difficult to do things please restore the function where it should be - part of the search bar - saving a new search has NOTHING to do with ''File'' a simple right click on the search bar - so simple! (and for Saved Searches) ALSO the Saved Searches with Magnifying Glass ( right down left-hand side bar next to Trash) which I EVENTUALLY found a long way from the search bar! - was way down off screen because as is usual I had my Notebooks and Tags showing !!! What are your guys smoking ? - Evernote is starting to become like other software - forever meddling with functions and moving them to some stupid place - stupid because it is not intuitive. I love Evernote but it's going downhill! because of continual meddling and almost hiding functions from users. OH! I just ACCIDENTALLY discovered if you Right Click just below the search bar in the BLANK area between ''Viewing notes in'' .. and ''click to Add tag'' (Red area in attached Image) you get a ''Save Search'' popup - Now who would expect to click there to do that ? Please make it a right click IN the search notes area !!
  3. Fellow Users: I'm having an issue with OCR searches and JPEGS any day after the first day. Initially after I've uploaded a new note with a JPEG I can successfully search the JPEGs for words (I'm searching pictures of handwritten notes from a notebook). The weird thing is that I can successfully search for a word (for example "call") directly after I upload the note and JPEG and come back the next day and search for the same word and I get nothing. Any suggestions? My environment: I am not a premium user. My devices: A windows 8 laptop and a iPhone 5s / an IOS device. Both are running the latest software as of 8-13-14. My process: I take a picture of my handwritten note with my iPhone camera, I crop the picture as needed, I rotate if needed, and save the image. I then use my iPhone to open a new note, I title it, and I choose the picture with my notes. I like using the camera for taking the picture better because I'm trying to capture handwritten business notes from a notebook and with the standard IOS camera I can crop out anything on the sides that I don't want to include. Again, any suggestions are appreciated.
  4. I'm new to Evernote. I downloaded it to help organize my Recipes. So far I have 2 recipes. One I took a photo of and then shared it with Evernote from my phone. When I did a search for salt, it highlighted everytime it said salt in the recipe. Then I used WebClipper to download another recipe that was online. Now when I do any searches it only shows the word salt in the second recipe. Even when I'm looking at the first recipe it doesn't work. I've tried it with the search set at Search All Notes, as well as Search Current Context. So, what am I doing wrong? I'd also love to know if there's a way to cut off the parts (ads and extra copy) that came along when I used WebClipper. I tried the different settings (full page....) for that too. Thanks.
  5. Is there a short summary of searching syntax for Evernote? I'm interested in being able to search by date, date range, notebook, content within note, and with and without tags. I was sure there would be an entry in this forum, but have been unable to find it.
  6. Hi there, Windows version: I would like to be able to custom sort my tags, saved searches as well as these complete categories. Personally I want to have the saved searches on top, then my tags. The rest I do not use. iOS version: Would like to see that same nested structure for my tags as I created in the windows version. Now it is one huge, long, unworkable list. thanks Remco.
