  1. It would be ideal to have an option to edit the automated email message after scanning business cards, instead of only being able to edit the contact information. Would you please make this feature available?
  2. My ScanSnap Evernote Edition scanner has some kind of hardware problem. It will not power on. Where can I send this to get repaired? It is out of warranty, since it was purchased in 2014. I found contact info for Fujitsu on http://scansnapcommunity.com/ and gave them a call. Not open on the weekend, of course. If anyone has experience with getting repair service on one of these scanners, please share your story.
  3. Can someone send me the link to purchase the Evernote Scansnap scanner? I cannot find it in the Market. The link on the scansnap webpage takes me to evernote.com. Thanks, John
  4. Add feature in the Evernote Camera for direct scanning in PDF format without the need to use Scannable. In the Evernote Camera there should be the option to push a button and simply save the document in PDF.
  5. I'm getting closer to beginning the substantial project of going paperless using my new ScanSnap scanner and Evernote. Most of the documents I'll be scanning are two-sided black-and-white documents that were highlighted by me. I have some questions on what the optimal ScanSnap settings might be. Looking at ScanSnap Manager... 1) The "Scan to Evernote (Document)" profile seems like it would be the logical starting point, right? What's the difference between this and the "Scan to Evernote (Note)" profile? It seems like the former creates a PDF and the latter creates a JPG? For purposes of Evernote, why would someone ever want to create a JPG instead of a PDF? Are there any advantages? 2) Under "Application > Application Settings..." there is a checkbox for "Convert to Searchable PDF". See...http://d.pr/i/bQumJ6. I assume selecting this option has it so that Evernote performs OCR instead of ScanSnap's software? Is such a setup preferable? (I see a separate "Convert to Searchable PDF" option under "File option > Select OCR". See...http://d.pr/i/ezk4HH. I assume selecting this option has it so that ScanSnap performs OCR instead of Evernote? Or am I just confused here?) 3) ScanSnap allows you to select an "Image saving folder" on your hard drive. See...http://d.pr/i/E7M5tq. If the document is being saved in Evernote, what reason is there to have an additional copy taking up space on your hard drive? Is there any way to turn this off? 4) Anyone have any tips for best practices for "File name format"? Here are the options that are presented...http://d.pr/i/bZ3n3T. 5) What "Image quality" level do folks recommend? Or do folks just go with automatic resolution? Here are the options that are presented...http://d.pr/i/DYiIxr. 6) Given that most of my documents are highlighted, I'm leaning towards setting the "Color mode" to "Color". Will this be okay? It's important to me that the highlighting I did in these documents, in yellow, is captured in these scans. 7) Is there any reason to select the "Reduce bleed-through", "Brightness", "Increase text contrast", or "Deskew by text on document" options? See...http://d.pr/i/NnPIsE. 8) What do folks recommend for "Compression rate"? Given the massive number of documents I'll be scanning, I want to be at least somewhat conscious of space, but I also don't want to have any issues with legibility. See...http://d.pr/i/6YYLqr. 9) Any other key settings that I didn't mention in the above that are worth paying mind to, including any related settings on the Evernote side of things? I'm all ears. Thanks in advance for your guidance and insights!
  6. I'm considering purchasing the Fujitsu iX500 ScanSnap Scanner for the main purpose of integrating it into my Evernote workflow. I'm sure there are many others out there with this setup. I'd be curious to hear about their experience, both the positives and the negatives, as well as any tips they have on which model to purchase, the optimal settings to select, etc.. (Speaking of, does anyone know the difference between the two models currently available on Amazon...https://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-ScanSnap-Document-Scanner-PA03656-B305/dp/B01G3JYVYM?) Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi there, I've been reading around, but I can't find an answer to this question. Are there scanners which can scan multiple 2-sided pages directly to my Evernote account without the neccesarity of a separate computer in the middle? The Xerox machines here at the office have that option, but that's a bit too much for me ;-) . It's just for home use and school. I can't find if the affordable snapshot scanners have that option. Any suggestions?
  8. SCANSNAP evernote edition은 왜 국내에서는 정식 판매하지 않는건가요? 혹시 출시 계획이 있다면 언제인가요?
  9. I just purchased an Epson GT-1500 scanner as it has both a flatbed (for photos) and an automatic document feeder (ADF). I had significant issues with the packaged software, PaperPort and I really wanted to be able to scan a number of pages, turn the set of pages upside down, scan again, and have the resultant pages be properly collated. My finally requirement, of course, was getting everything into Evernote without any hassles. I finally succeeded in solving my problems. I wrote a blog entry explaining my adventure with this scanner. Read it here: Joe's blog entry.
  10. I have an old ScanSnap 1300 and like it, but it is tethered to a machine via USB. I need to move to a WiFi model because the machine it is tethered to is about to die and can no longer serve as my "scanner server." So I want a good scanner that will do double sided scanning (don't have to switch the paper out) and then log into my Evernote account and drop the PDFs in my @Inbox notebook. Evernote used to have a good set of web pages that had partner products on it, but those are only accessible now via Google and often have dead links or links to discontinued products. It would need to connect to the internet through our Apple Timecapsule router. We use Evernote for iOS, Windows, and Mac. Any recommendations? Edit: to clarify, I don't want a scanner that requires a PC/Mac be on and working to scan, even through wifi. I want it to send it directly to my Evernote account. I don't mind having to have a PC/Mac to configure the scanner, but after that, the scanner should be on, drop sheets in, press scan, and magic - document is in my Evernote account minutes later. All of our machines are now laptops and my wife has an iPad only, so I don't want to have to fire up a machine to scan just to scan in docs received in the mail, etc.
  11. So I bought the Fujitsu Scansnaps s1100 a couple years ago before Evernote had the giant scansnap they now sell in their marketplace. At the time this is what Evernote recommended and I chose it because of it's integration with evernote and because it's so compact and I live in a small San Francisco apt and prefer something compact. So I was dissapointed that the new software Evernote has for Scansnap doesn't work with models like mine and the software downloads from fujitsu no longer have the "Scan to Evernote" feature that the software used to come with (I have an new laptop). Ideally, I'd just prefer Evernote's version of the software to work with the s1100 since it's much nicer then fujitsu's (this is for Mac OSX btw). But even if Fujitsu's would Scan to Evernote again that would at least work. I can't be the only person using the s1100 for Evernote? Anyone have a solution for the s1100 and Evernote?
  12. I have an Epson ds-30, a simple portable scanner I use a lot. The software, Epson Document Capture Pro, does most of what i want easily, but I am having 2 problems I can't find an anwer to from Epson's support 1)It comes with a button for sending directly to Evernote. When I click on it, it tells me I don't have EN installed, which is not true (had EN long before this scanner, and am running the most current version on Windows). The work-around is to save to a folder, and I use my "Into Evernote" folder on my hard-drive. It's just an extra step and I wondered if anyone else had the same problem. 2) there is a button in DCP to make pdf's searchable. It came bundled with ABBYY fine reader 9.0, but I eventually bought ABBYY FineReader 11.0. Both are still installed. When the searchable button is on, I get an error message that it can't connect with finereader's ini. I have re-installed the FR 9 software with no help. Mainly, I'm trying to figure out if I should just leave the searchable part off, and let EN do it, or is it better to have the OCR done locally first and then upload? I have a basic account, and I thought only jpgs are searchable, which is why I was doing it this way.
  13. Im going to purchase an Epson V370 scannner for my son to use, after a bit of research I discovered that the company claims that it is compatible with Evernote (can scan directly into evernote) and other cloud storage applications. Since I couldn't find a list of scanners that are compatible with Evernote in the website, I want to make sure that it is compatible before buying it, as my son uses Evernote often. If the Epson V370 is not compatible are there any other low budget scanners that are compatible with ever note?
  14. I am looking for a guide to setting up Evernote and my Canon MX410 printer / scanner so that I can scan documents directly into Evernote. This will be for a Windows 8 environment. Any help will be appreciated.
  15. I bought my Fujitsu iX500 Scanner before Evernote began selling theirs. It came with a utility to enable it to scan directly to Evernote. Now in the latest update, that utility seems to have disappeared. When I look in Mac Evernote Preferences, the features related to ScanSnap are greyed out (unavailable) with link to buy the scanner from Evernote Market. Have any of you encountered this? What's the work around?
  16. Owned a Doxie Go for some time and love this little portable battery powered scanner. It goes with me everywhere. For those of us who own and registered this product we appear to have an unbeatable offer! The new Doxie Go Wifi list price is $229, but we get if for $149. Just ordered mine along with the case as I keep turning mine on accidentally in my bag. http://www.getdoxie.com/info/products.html Best regards Chris
  17. I am using a Scansnap S1300 and Windows 7. In the taskbar, the Scansnap Manager icon is crossed out (has a line through it). This happens frequently, even though my Scansnap is turned on, plugged in, and recognized by my computer. I have to restart my computer and then the Scansnap icon is not crossed out and I can use my Scansnap. Then, after a while, it will become crossed out and unavailable once again until I restart my computer. Any ideas on how I can make my Scansnap available for use without having to restart my computer? Thanks, Todd
  18. I have been using scandrop to scan directly into Evernote without saving an additional copy of the PDF on my pc. It was super simple to use. I went to run it today & it no longer loads on my pc. It says it has timed out or something like that & never opens. I searched around & it seems they may have discontinued the windows version & only offers mac version now. Any other similar option to scan into evernote using my neat scanner? Jason
  19. I read somewhere that the app for Android has a built in scanner. Is that true? If so, where? I can't seem to find it and I am running the latest app on Android 4.3 If not, what are the best options out there? Thanks! W. Hill
  20. I purchased a Canon P-150 scanner that came bundled with CaptureOnTouch software. I loaded the CaptureOnTouch software on a previous computer and would often use the “Scan to Evernote” feature. I recently changed computers and reloaded the CaptureOnTouch software, but now discovered the “Scan to Evernote” feature is missing (the software installation never prompted me to select the Evernote add-in). Called Cannon tech support – un-installed and re-installed the previous and most recent versions of CaptureOnTouch software – no luck. Cannon could not provide any additional support. Any suggestions? Is there a registry edit I can make? I loved that feature and would like to have it back.
  21. Hi all, I'm in the market for a new multifunction printer for home use. While looking at the Evernote Trunk the other day I noticed the link to the Brother web site. I followed that link, searched everywhere on Brother's (UK) website and couldn't find a single model that said it supported a Scan To Evernote feature. So I started Googling and I've found so many vague documents it's unbelievable. I did find a link to a Brother printer that may support this feature but it was really vague and only appears to be available in the US. The only document I found that said a specific model of printer (made by HP) has a scan to Evernote feature built in to it was for a model that is no longer made. I don't really want to but a multifunction printer AND a separate scanner just for Evernote. Is there a list somewhere of printer models that have a scan to Evernote feature (or the ability to add one) so I can do some comparisons or am I misunderstanding this whole concept? Thanks Steve
  22. I use the portable Canon scanner P215 with the CaptureOnTouch software that comes with a Evernote Plugin so you can scan directly to Evernote. After installing te Capture software and the Evernote Plugin, I can't select anything in the Capture software to scan directly to Evernote. In the settings of CaptureOnTouch, I find out that the Plugin is installed, but where does it fit in the scansoftware?? If I look in to the manual of the Canon scanner, there has to be a extra outputsetting to Evernote, there isn't one! Ofcourse there are a few work arounds, like scanning into a folder that is set as auto import folder in Evernote.. Or scan to a selectable EXE in CaptureOnTouch, and select the Evernote.EXE... But thats not the meaning of installing a plugin. Does anybody have information for me what is wrong and solve this Issue? Edwin. System: Windows 7
  23. Hello everyone, I am hoping to trial Evernote for student portfolios in my English classroom, but am not sure which scanner would be best for the job. I will teach aprox. 150 11-16 year olds and want their best work, and reflection to be on Evernote for school and home use. So that I can comment on their notes, I will create a notebook for each student in my premium account (that will be a late night!), and then share the notebook with each student. I envisage having mobile devices like iPad minis or ipod touches that can photograph paper work, but from reading Rob Van Nood's Ebook on this topic, feel that a dedicated scanner is a good idea too. Perhaps the ipads will be in use by another class one day? My main question is then, what scanner do you recommend? Rob used a Lexmark Pinnacle Pro, which I believe is an all-in-one printer/scanner- but looking online, I don't think this is a current model, nor do I envisage I will need a printer. My wish list is as follows: 1/ Can scan pages from notebooks (does this rule out Doxie?) 2/ Can be fed single sheets too (flatbed with ADF?) 3/ Is fast 4/ Can send to Evernote quickly and easily 5/ Can store Evernote notebook names, so that students can easily send their work to the right notebook, and not need me to move scores of notes, probably without names on, to the right notebook. 6/ Is affordable! Does anyone have a view? Thanks for any help! Toby Ray London
  24. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M scanner. When I scan a document, I would like the new Evernote note to open in a new window. Instead it is just placed in my Inbox notebook. That means I have to go hunt it down and give it a title, tags, notebook, etc. My previous scanner opened the new note immediately in a new window that popped right up after scanning. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing? Thanks in advance for your help. BTW - Yes, I did buy my scanner 2 days before the new iX500 was released.
  25. Hi All, Does anyone with a Documate 152 scanner, or anyone with the same problem, know how to assign a notebook to the scanned documents. When I scan something, the scanner sends it to the active notebook. WIndows XP version of evernote Thanks EDIT: Notebook
