  1. Hello there Among the numerous useful features that vanished with this "upgrade" to 8.0 version, I just found that i cannot manually upload the details of a business card to my contacts. Running on latest iOS and iPhone 6 Tassos
  2. I've been using Evernote for years, but I've encountered something I'd never seen before. I routinely keep handwritten notes in a pocket notebook or steno pad and scan them into Evernote for safekeeping and search. Today I scanned my pocket notebook, dropped the PDF into the Evernote app on my MacBook, but when I checked it in the app on my phone I saw some of the text had been removed. I've attached two screenshots, one taken from a page from the original note in the Evernote app on my MacBook, where everything still looks fine, and the other of the same page as it appears when I call up the same PDF on my iPhone. If I tap the Annotate button in the app on my phone, I can see the original writing on the page — but even if I annotate that page and save it, the redacted page still displays. Is this because I put a line through some of my notes? If that's a feature in the iOS app, how can I turn it off so I can see my complete handwritten notes as I intended them to look?

  4. In an effort to move towards a paperless office, I've been scanning my documents into EN for quite some time. I haven't scanned anything in a few months and my papers were starting to pile up. I noticed that when I scanned my documents this time, the pages are out of order in EN after it is processed by the scanner (I place the document(s) in order into the scanner chute). I googled it and looked through this forum and didn't find much help. I've always scanned them as pdf into EN with OCR with no problems. I made sure that the file format was still in pdf. Anybody else experiencing this? It's driving me nuts! I'm running macOS High Sierra Ver 10.13.1, EN Version 6.13 (455674 App Store) with ScanSnap Manager Version 3.2 L91 (ScanSnap S1300i). Thanks in advance for your help!
  5. Can QR codes be added to documents to include metadata for Evernote scans. (Similar to products like Rocketbook) Use case: Scan a paper-printed notepad containing a QR code that when scanned with Evernote will associate metadata contained in the QR code to the extracted PDF image of the page content Examples of metadata included in QR code: Notebook: assign the scan to a specific notebook Tag: tag the scan ie "paper_notes" Date: assign the scan to a specific date / time Questions Can this be accomplished with the current version of Evernote and if not, can this be accomplished via a custom app and the Evernote API.
  6. Hello, some of the business cards my assistant scanned to Evernote were saved as notes, not cards. Can I save the notes as business cards so the text will be recognized without having to delete & rescan? Thanks!
  7. hi iam a teacher who recently have discovered evernote... i am always taking notes in meetings, and would like to have all notes in my tablet or mobile, via evernote i have several folders in evernote to organize things, use web clipper, pending tasks, etc... but i do not know how to scan my sheets with notes, i have a htc mobile, and send them to evernote... i can not find any app that scans note sheets properly, and even my main worry is how to do a workflow and do it asap not to lose much time could you help me the goals are quite simple, write notes in a paper, (could i use moleskine templates to make it easier???), scan them with high quality, send them to evernote to later read them thanks for your help, any info is welcome
  8. Adding a new contact by scanning a business cards is smooth. So far I couldn't figure out how to deal with two sided business cards in an efficient way, though. It's been discussed in the past here, but I'm not sure if the info found in those treads still applies for recent app versions. Two sided card, may have the same information gain in a different version. Or the basic information is spread over two sides. (perhaps not always a good idea, but I can't change the world). Thanks in advance.
  9. I use the app on my android phone to take snaps of powerpoint presentations. Most of the time the app auto-straightens the image and auto-crops it. However sometimes it doesn't and you end up with a picture of the whole room. There doesn't seem to be any way to get Evernote to reprocess the image to do this, either in the app or in desktop. Would be nice if this could be done after having taken the picture and where it didn't 'whiteboard' process it correctly the first time.
  10. Currently, when I scan a business card, I have the option to send my contact details to the new contact as email text. However, it is not sent as a Contact File (in popular formats) for the new contact to quickly click to add to their contact list. Is this planned for the near future. I understand other business scanning apps include this feature.
  11. I recently set up my ScanSnap Evernote scanner. Began capturing business cards. The scanner is quick, but in some cases assumes the wrong note type or captures an image in the incorrect orientation. These are not huge issues on their own, but it does not seem to be entirely intuitive how to edit this information once it is loaded into the desktop application. For instance, I cannot change the orientation of images if they are associated with a business card, I cannot update information in automatically generated fields, and I cannot change another kind of document to a business card. If these features are currently available, they do not seem to be intuitive. Has anyone else experienced something similar or have advice on how to workaround this issue?
  12. Hi, What am I doing wrong? I have 15 sheets of paper which I wish to save in EN, and to send by email to a client. I scanned with EN Android (which produced jpg images), opened the note with EN Windows, Ctrl A to select all attachments, and drag to email. But it only takes the first image. Tried saving attachments, but again it only saved the first image, I worked out that the problem was that EN had given all images the same file name (picture.jpg), which seems to have confused everything. In the end my only workaround (being too lazy to scan them all again with different app) was to rename each image by right-clicking. Even this was made more laborious by Evernote flicking back to the top image after each rename action, so I had to count pages (each image looks very similar on the small preview window). Is there an easier way to scan and send multiple jpg images from one note (I mean a single note, not the EN competitor), or should I have saved each sheet to a separate note, which itself is a bit of a faff? Or is it better to use dedicated scanning app, and bypass the EN scanner? Many thanks for advice. Guy
  13. Hi I am using the post-it camera to digitize some post-its of our brain storming session. Unfortunately the orange post-its are recogniced as yellow ones. But sometimes if the camera was very unsteady, moved too much or some other reason the post-it gets recognised as orange post-it. I noticed that the app filters the text and puts one of the Evernote Post-it background colors afterwards. I attached two pictures which where actually taken from an orange post-it and one example which is actually quite shark picture but is also orange. I was not able to reproduce that again other way than havily moving the camera. I suggest to allow the user to select the post-it background color after taking the picture or inside the notebook. Would be a great way organising our team boards this way.

  15. Hi all, I am currently having an issue with the searchability of documents when using the Scansnap Cloud service. I am currently using an Scansnap ix500 scanner. WHEN I DO USE SCANSNAP CLOUD (WIRELESS) Currently, I have Scansnap Cloud set up such that all documents go straight to Evernote (as can be seen in the first attached picture). However, when the documents arrive in Evernote, they are not searchable/OCR'd. WHEN I DON"T USE SCANSNAP CLOUD (WIRED) When I have a wired connection and send the documents to Evernote through Scansnap's "quick menu" (from the included software CD - see the second attached picture), the documents arrive in Evernote and are indeed searchable (OCR'd). Why am I having this issue? At first, I though that the WIRED option runs the OCR on my computer and THEN sends it to Evernote (whereas under the WIRELESS option there may be no OCR on the Scansnap Cloud server side before it is sent to Evernote). However, doesn't Evernote have OCR capabilities on their end as well (and so it shouldn't matter whether the document has been "pre OCR'd" before arriving)? Or is OCR only a premium feature?
  16. I would have the option while scanning documents to choose to make one PDF in a note or alle the documents as a separate note. Think of the situation of 15 invoices on a A4. In the software of the Snapscan it will create 1 PDF so i will have to scan every invoice separate. That is not a efficient workflow... I did read that the Fujitsu i500 scanner can do this so i think that it is possible to make changes to the software ? Thanks ! Evernote asked me to post this on this forum so please vote on this issue !!! Thanks ! I also encourage you to post this as a feature request on our Evernote Product Feedback Forum so that more users can vote on this issue as our product team does spend time on the forums gathering feedback as well.
  17. In the 8.0 version, I can't find the way to insert the image of the back of the name card. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks.
  18. Scanning into Evernote from the Scansnap s1300, on my windows machine, the notes end up in the currently opened notebook. After switching to my Mac machine, the notes always scan to the default notebook. How can I scan notes to the currently opened notebook on the Mac? Thanks!
  19. I am a new user and trying to understand what EN can do. I have scanned a page of handwritten notes into EN. When I search for words in those notes, EN can find the words (which is great). But can EN take the next step and convert all the text in the image to editable text that I can use in a Word processor? Or even just a PDF? thanks!
  20. Hi everybody, I remember there was a possibility to scan documents with EN with the camera of the mobile Now when I push on the camera icon (there is no other icon of "document scan") it bring me to my camera photo as it is (exactly the same when I take a photo), nothing special about EN of document scanning ! I have a basic account on Galaxy S7 phone What I am doing wrong ? Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

    Export to Google Drive/Gmail

Getting a Scannable document into an ongoing email chain in Gmail is tedious. Can we streamline this, perhaps by adding an "Export to Google Drive" feature to Scannable? The current process looks like this: Scan with Scannable. (iPhone) Save to Evernote. Open Evernote. Find/open the same scanned document. Click "Open in...", scroll, select Google Drive. (Why isn't this feature in Scannable, or really, why isn't Scannable rolled into the Evernote app?) Go to Gmail. Attach the scan to ongoing email chain.

    Camera attachment BRICKS devices

After 2 or more years of using the paid version of this app, I cancelled my subscription. Why? Because the app causes errors across my devices, I load to capture a document that I need for my business, the first shot sometimes works... But by the second shot.... My phone is in boot loader, repeat boot loader, the phone could have 100% battery and still not restart, if you have less than 50% battery then you dare not use the app as it my phone needs a PC connection to be restored/ restarted. So is it your device? NO... My poor phone has undergone testing and flashing on numerous occasions, I swapped to iphone... same problem, iPad... Same problem, LG latest phone... Same problem, latest Microsoft... Same problem, brand new tablet with only Evernote installed... Same problem. This app has something seriously wrong with the code, I am very disappointed that the time has come to purge Evernote from all my systems, recall all devices within the business, flash them and find an alternative for our business needs. Since I ended my subscription I find that Evernote does not offer Support to FREE customers, they didn't pay attention to any of my correspondence while I was a member and this is a shame. 2 Years ago I was immensely satisfied with all its great features, which I'm going to miss... But like the rest of the world, I need my devices and apps working correctly. If someone can suggest an alternative vendor that has customer support, I am looking to be able to scan a document and view it across the business, possibly something compatible with Dropbox. Thanks
  23. Would you it possible to have an option for evernote not scan the picture had a search? as this will not utils me and sometimes false research because it is me notes that have nothing to do with the search and view scanned images of the same does not have the word search ... I would like to settle evernote for he is not looking in the pictures ... français : Serais t'il possible d'avoir une option pour que evernote ne scan pas les image durent une recherche ? car celà ne m'est pas utils et fausse parfois les recherches car il me trouve des notes qui n'ont rien a voir avec les recherche et voir même des images scanné qui ne présente pas le mot rechercher... j'aimerait pouvoir regler evernote pour qu'il ne cherche pas dans les images...
  24. I was trying to scan some hand writing notes by taking picture with my phone. However, sometime it can only save as photo instead of document. Saving as document obvious will be clearer. When I try to change the save as to document it will be completely black. Do anyone else encounter the same kind of problem? Is there any trick to trick the Evernote camera to let it recognize it as a document?
  25. For the first time, I decided to use Evernote OCR coz hey I have bought premium so I should use it. Scanned a grocery receipt using Evernote android camera. On windows desktop, if I'll search something from that receipt on the main Evernote interface it works fine for some of the terms in that receipt. However, if I open that receipt in its own note window and now do CTRL+ F to search for terms in that window Evernote cannot find anything. Is the experience similar for you guys as well or I am missing something. I am really disappointed and frustrated to see that my PDF software has better OCR capabilities than evernote.
