  1. I use evernote on samsung chromebook plus for taking notes. I am frequently running into evernote freezing on me while trying to save a note. When I try to save a note, a window pops up with the message: "Evernote isn't responding" with three options to close, wait or send feedback. I cannot even move to other apps on the chromebook when this happens. I have to first close the app (thus losing my note) and then open other apps. This is quite frustrating and I was wondering if this is a known issue in Evernote on chromebooks. I sent feedback to Evernote support and hoping to hear back from them.
  2. So when i open up a new note and start to fill in all the needed Information, evernote tends to "kick" me out of the session, leaving me with a notice, that the note was not saved! I've tried to empty the evernote *trash-can*, but even that didn't help. None of the Tipps given on the Website have managed to solve the Problem, so I am hoping someone could lend a helping hand.
  3. I've just recently started revising my workflow to utilize more of the functionality of Evernote when I noticed there is not a "Save" function for pdf annotation. There is a "Save and Exit", but this requires exiting the annotation completely. Having a "Save" function that pushes an updated annotated version of the PDF to the main desktop client would be incredibly helpful, allowing me to save as I go without fear of my workstation crashing and losing a portion my current annotation (suffice to say, this just happened to me). I do understand that there is an automatic save function, whether that's at a time interval or when changes are flagged I don't know, but I would just prefer the ability to save manually if I notice signs of a potential system crash. Thanks for such a wonderful product! C_olinf
  4. I have an MS excel document saved in my note. After I open it from within Evernote and modify the document, and sync Evernote, it is not saving back into Evernote. The modified document is saved in my files outside of Evernote. The implication is that I cannot see the latest version of the modifed document when I re-open Evernote. How do I open, modify and save an attachment so that the modified version is available next time I open Evernote.
  5. I have been using Evernote to file my accounting reports from Easybooks. Mostly The reports are small but once a year I need to file the Audit report which is relatively large, (but less than 1mb I think). I have found it will not save as one file, I have to split it into two six months files and then it saves fine as two reports. Is this correct? Is there some limit on file size. I know I am well below the I GB allowance for the basic free package. Any help appreciated? James.
  6. I started using Evernote to store files related to projects I am working on. My understanding was that if I opened that file from within the evernote note made changes and saved the document that the changes would be made to the document within the note. Unfortunately none of the changes are populating into the document stored within the Evernote note.
  7. Hello! Evernote is quickly becoming essential for my research as I'm able to quickly take screen shots/pictures right from the quick note pop-down tab. I love how you can just click the tab and have your note right at hand without having to quit an application or go anywhere. The trouble starts when you click "save to evernote." The note gets dumped into the unsorted notes, often without a meaningful title making it difficult to locate and tedious to recompile back into one note. I've tried just working with the actual note open through the evernote app, but there is no easy way to toggle between programs/windows, no easy way to capture screen shots of work done in another program (The note window must be open and in front, blocking any screen capture attempt). So my questions are these: Is there a way to specify where to save the quick note? Is there a way to have the content of your quick note join an existing note? Is there a way to annotate images directly from the quick note task bar? Lastly, I've never been able to get the shortcut keys for screen capture to work on my mac, any advice? Thanks everyone!!
  8. Today I used an Evernote note to take notes during a university lecture. Approximately halfway through the lecture, my tablet crashed (probably not because of Evernote) and I had to reboot it. After the reboot, all my changes to that note were lost, so I had to rewrite all the contents of that lecture as far as I still remembered them. As I understand, Evernote on Android only saves notes when you tap the save button to close the editing view. Could you add an option to continously save the note or at least make backups somewhere so that I don't lose my progress when the app or the device crashes? In this state, the Android app is not very suitable for taking longer notes.
  9. Just a small suggestion for how the app could save an edited note. In my personal experience of using the android app I just noticed saving a note takes an extra press or touch. The current way of saving a note after editing it is when you press on the back button it displays a 'Do you want to discard these changes' confirmation pop up. And if you want to save the note you press Done at the top left corner of the edited note screen which is hard to reach with one hand. I can see why the above is current behaviour where you dont accidently add new or changed content to the note but it just seems it cant be done in one hand even for smaller screen android phones. You can keep the Done button on the top left corner but could we have a 'Do you want to save these changes' confirmation pop up on pressing the back button instead, as in my opinion it is easier to save a note this way and not accidently discard the changes when trying to save a note quickly which I have been doing a lot since I started using the app on android. Maybe its only me. I am not sure where the discard confirmation pop up could be accessed from after its changed to the above though. Hopefully this post made sense.
  10. When I take a snap of something on my screen, Skitch is automatically blowing into a size that's twice the original snap. When I crop it and resize it back down to what I want, it looks normal. But when I go to save it, it automatically saves a version that's twice as big as I'd like. It doesn't matter whether or not I click/unclick the "Drag out at original size" box above the drag tab. If I click it, it automatically reverts back to the huge snap it did in the beginning (which isn't actually the original size of the snap). If I leave it unchecked it says it's dragging the right version, but when I open the file it's still the huge version. This has only started happening recently. Why won't it just take the snap in the original size of the screen item being captured? How can I save the snap to the size I actually want? For example, this snap I took is from a YouTube video. The video is 640 pixels wide. It saved the snap at 1280 originally. I cropped it a bit and set it to 600x331. It will only save this version - which is 1200x662.
  11. I have been very happily using evernote premium for about a year but reached the dreaded 250 notebook max. As i am a business of 1 i don't need the Business bells and whistles as a way to continue to create more notebooks. Tags etc simply don't work for my purpose/mind. So what i want to do that would work very well for my needs if it is possible to do is this: Use Evernote only on my computer, saving through my Time Machine own system, not on Evernotes system, and then i wouldn't have a notebook limit. I can see how now i can create new notebooks as Local although i'm not sure i could do this if i weren't on my premium account? My question is this: Is there a way to save my current evernote notebooks/notes into a desktop system that is userfriendly and i can continue to use only locally? (even a way that is not userfriendly would also be helpful altho if it is not userfriendly i would probably switch over to something like onenote.) THANKS
  12. Hi gurus, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm working on a spreadsheet on 2 different Windows computers. I keep losing data. and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Spreadsheet is in Excel. Do I need to delete the document from the note and re-attach it? I'm so confused. Every time I've lost data, I have to go into that EN attachments file and search for my lost data. Then copy and paste it back to the most recent spreadsheet again. I'm reentering data 3 and 4 times. My boss thinks I'm an idiot. I'm beginning to agree with her. Maybe when I open the document I need to "Save As" with the date? Then create another note? I can't keep entering data for hours and it disappearing into the Cloud. Maybe I need to use Dropbox for working on attachments? I've never tried that program, but maybe it's better for documents that are constantly changing? Thanks for any ideas. Leslie
  13. Several times recently I thought my note was saved for a meeting, arrived at the meeting only to find it was not. Frustrating! Thankfully I had copy-pasted the Evernote note into a Google doc. Seems like this would NEVER happen with a "notes" app.
  14. Using my ipad 2, I can't save pictures, copied text, a webpage, or a URL, (Safari) to a notebook. Am I missing something? I am new to ipad and Evernote. I tried using Dolphin, but it only worked at first, but then after that it couldn't open Evernote. I did the password reset update and even uninstalled and reinstalled Evernote on all my devices (ipad 2 and pc laptops, I don't have a smart phone). Everything is updated on my iOS as well. Can anyone help?
  15. 1) Does Evernote on a Mac automatically save after entering text into a note, or after a period of time, OR do you have to go to file>save to save text or images added to a note? 2) Is there an easy way to export everything from an account into a folder on my computer if at some in the future I want a complete backup of everything my account?
  16. Hi see this Apple thread for context https://discussions.apple.com/message/20488178?ac_cid=op123456#20488178 Here's a copy of my OP for ease: Hi, wondering if there's anything I can do to enable this part of the save menu when printing as a PDF. Would really like to be able to change the document from "Untitled" to something more meaningful. I notice that I can't click on anything in that part of the menu: title, author, subject, keywords, or the security options button. Thanks , screen capture attached. Edit: I tried doing this from Preview (originally was doing it from Evernote) and it worked to add the information as desired. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work from Evernote. Does anyone know the answer?
