  1. Hi, 1. Saved search string if used than the new either tags or notes added to tha same is not getting included . 2. e.g on 1-6-2016 I have tags as below proj-6001 , proj-6002 , proj-6003 and used the search tag: proj-, and resulted into search of proj-6001, proj-6002, & proj-6003 now on 5-6-18, i have added new tag proj-6004, & proj-6005. and on 6-6-18, if i use the search (ctrl-q) tag: proj- than the tags proj-6001, proj-6002, proj-6003 are only displayed (based on search history of 1-6-18) & not getting refreshed with tags added later on. Plese provide refresh feature Nitin Shah
  2. It would be nice to be able to link to a tag, notebook, stack, and/or saved search within a note. I know you can make TOC notes on search results, but if new notes matching the search used are added, they are not automatically included in the TOC note. I think It would be nice to have a note that can guide me to related notebooks, topics, saved searches, or tags if I choose to do so. I would just expect the link to take me to the list view I linked to.
  3. Using last Evernote 5, with Snow Leopard 10.6.8... I can not see the full list of saved searches. The number of items in the list is apparently limited to the height of the screen, and don't have the lateral scroll bar. I have a large list, so I can not see the last item at the bottom (even using the arrow keys up / down). Someone else with the same problem?
  4. To see the list of Saved Searches in Evernote, according to the Evernote Help webpage on Saved Searches: As of Evernote version 6.6.4.5512 (305512) Public, this functionality is no longer working. Clicking or tapping on the Search Notes box or the magnifying glass icon at the right of that box does nothing. I would appreciate it if Evernote engineering would fix this bug right away, as this is essential Evernote user functionality. Thank you.
  5. Hi I have dozens of project notebooks with lists of action items in each. I have created a 'done' tag, and two saved searches: open is -tag:done done is tag:done I would like to be able to apply such saved searches in my current notebook. That is, click on the notebook of interest, then on my general saved search. Currently, however, Evernote seems to require syntax like notebook:my_project tag:done. That is, I have to put ONE of my notebooks in the saved search. Now, it works only for that notebook. However, I would like it to work for my CURRENT notebook. I would like to use something like notebook:CURRENT tag:done. Tips welcome. Thanks, Arpy
  6. Perhaps when you click on the search box, in the dropdown box that appears, it can show a button/UI element somewhere that allows you to save the current search. Maybe a plus sign next to "Saved Searches"? My problem is that I save searches infrequently enough that I forget how, and then I have to look it up online. Digging through the menu bar (currently in Edit > Find) is not terribly intuitive. Thanks!
  7. I may be missing something, but is there a way to show the note count beside a saved search that has been dragged to the sidebar? It will show the count beside tags in the shortcut bar, but I can't figure out how to show note count for saved searches. Example attached.
  8. Hello everyone, I'm currently learning how to use the free version of Evernote for Mac. I've read about "saved searches", and how they should be available at the bottom of the Search Bar (for example, from this youtube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvwdasQuk40) But, that option simply isn't available when I try to bring it up (see picture below). Has this become a "premium feature", or have they removed the feature?
  9. I want to create a saved search that shows only those notes that were created as bookmarks with webclipper. Is there any way? I already checked here: http://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/search_grammar.php But found nothing relevant.
  10. Hi everyone, Here's what's in the release that went out tonight. Help and Transition - For those that are still getting used to using the new Evernote Web, we now have a full helper guide to ease you through the transition from the old version to the new version. You can find this link in the Account menu located at the bottom left of your screen under "Help and Learning". We also have a quick FAQ article that folks can access by clicking on "Learn More about the New Evernote Web" Creating and Deleting Saved Searches - For those who have not found the feature yet, we recently added back the ability to create and delete saved searches. Simply click on the search icon in the left navigation bar. You'll see a "Save Search" button once the search is executed. To delete a previously created saved search, hover over the saved search and click on the Trash can icon. Known Issues - We know of some issues with searches created from the Mac Client. These issues will be addressed in a future release. Updates to Quota for Premium Users - We've updated how quota works for our premium users. You can read more details about it here: https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2015/08/11/finding-the-perfect-fit/. Happy Evernoting! Keep the feedback coming. We are listening. Features coming in future releases: Copy notelinkMultiselect notes + core actionsCreation of nested tags - Nancy
  11. I have created a saved search in my Evernote desktop. The saved search shows up on my ios devices (ipad & iphone), but when you click on the short cut it says "No results found" that match the tag criteria. In an attempt to resolve the issue I have deleted the saved search and recreated it as well as uninstalling the Evernote app from both of my mobile devices. Still not working. Sounds to me like a possible sync issue, but unsure. Any thoughts? I really need this to work. Thanks! Dave
  12. Is there a way to create a shortcut that could reside on the Windows desktop (or in a keyboard macro) that will run a saved search in Evernote? I use IFTTT to create a new page each day where I keep all my notes. I can pull up each day's note through a saved search with the query: notebook:"2012 daily notes" created:day." I'd love to have this search available as a desktop icon, taskbar icon, or keyboard macro, so I can jump to the note from any program instantly. I've figured out how to do this on my Android phone by saving the search to the home screen, but I can't see how to do it in regular desktop Windows.
  13. Hi Evernote (and Evernote users) I am a regular user of Evernote for at least 5 or 6 years. The latest version, Evernote 6, seems to have omitted the ability to save my searches - or at least I can't seem to be able to do it anymore despite the comments in this article. If someone can lead me - please do. Anyway this is not my major request. I completely fail to see why I need to organize my notes in notebooks. This is an old artifact from ancient times and has no meaning in present days. If I need a "notebook" I would add a tag for that. Instead, I use tags all over to ensure I can find my notes using the right combination of tag names - sometimes combined with text search. Many of my notes are receipts and bills from my company, so if search for the tags 'Bills' and 'Year2014' I get what I need for my accountant. The obvious action would be to create a saved search and share it solely with my accountant. And here comes the limitation: It can't be done! The first argument would probably be - hey, just move 'em to a notebook and share that one. But the instant I need to provide another projection of my notes (i.e all the software I've bought for the past 5 years) I would need to move a bunch of them - potentially ruining the original collection of notes I shared with my accountant. My point is: Use tags! And let me share my saved searches. Hereby, I would keep my shared collections no matter which requirements I face in the future. So my request to the Evernote team, please put the tag-engine in gear. You can keep the notebooks for backward compatibility and for users who insists upon staying hierarchal. This would generate a giant leap ahead of the note making competitors.
  14. I am trying to create a search that shows my open reminders with notes with one of two words in the title. My search starts with this: reminderOrder:* -reminderDoneTime:* I can make it work when I add intitle:term1, but I cannot get it to work when I want to add the option for term2. I tried this but no go. reminderOrder:* -reminderDoneTime:* any: intitle:term1 intitle:term2 Can anyone help?
  15. Hi, I just made the update of the Evernote app. Thx android team, good improvement of the UI, I like it. Unfortunately I have 2 widgets which display saved searches, but they don't work anymore. An other one which displays a tag works fine.
  16. I am trying to create new Saved Searches that have have arguments, like todo:true, etc. When I add a new Saved Search, I have no idea where it goes to. I just want to add it to my Shortcuts. So far I keep running in loops. I can create a new search from my Tags, but have no idea how to edit the Tag first to modify the search parameters that will be return if/when I finally get it added to the Shortcuts. I use the Saved Search w/parameters a lot to show very specific data--especially for Reminders and To Do Tasks that are outstanding. I've reviewed this page as a source: http://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/search_grammar.php, but still get lost connecting the dots from creating a saved search to getting it on Shortcut list. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Sheree
  17. Hello, Am hoping there's some setting to help with this! New to Evernote but liking the flow so far (with a setup from TSW). Essentially I've created a couple saved searches, each that use a notebook and a couple of tags. When you first launch the app and click those saved searches (I created shortcuts in the sidebar), they work great. But, if you click on an unrelated tag in the sidebar, then click on two different saved search shortcuts (the first works fine), all the results disappear. Essentially it's taking that tag that you clicked on in the sidebar beforehand into account, even though that tag 1) doesn't appear anywhere in the UI and 2) cannot be cleared using Cmd+Shift+J (the highlighted blue "tag" icon when you're in a different screen than a saved search). The only way to clear this after clicking a tag is to Cmd+R (reset) then Cmd+Shift+J (tag), clear the tag, then without clicking anything else go back to saved searches. Any ideas? Thanks! Brian
  18. I know saved searches will show on the Android app, but is there a way to create a shortcut to these to drag to the home screen, like you could do for a note? Any workaround?
  19. Is there a way to use logical operators, such as AND and OR, in a Saved Search? I'm trying to create seven different searches, each for a day of the week. The search will have all my high priority "1-Now" tasks as well as those that I've tagged with that day of the week. For instance, when I pull up my "Saturday" saved search, EN will show me all my Saturday chore notes as well as those marked with the "1-Now" tag. I've tried putting "tag:1-Now OR tag:!Saturday" into a saved search but that just searches for the word "or" and shows results that are tagged with both of those tags (not one of the tags or the other).
  20. Saved searches on the Mac do not have the following features which are available on the Windows client: A dialog for creating the search (on Mac you have to enter the search syntax directly) A way to edit the rules for a saved search or to even see what the rules are It would be nice if the Mac client had equivalent functionality to the Windows client. No one likes to think they are a second class citizen.
  21. Folks, I'm very sad to see that the list of 'filter rules' that comprised my saved search are no longer visible to me in the interface (Lion OS 7.6.2). In previous releases when i clicked on my saved search i would see the filter rules being used, for example: tag:Active, tag:P1:, etc. Now when I click on the saved search it filters my notes but I no longer have access to the original rules being used ... can I have that back? Am I missing it? Can someone help me here or take this User Story as input .. "As a user, I want to see the filter rules being applied when I click on a saved search, so that I can understand the resulting list of notes. I also want the power to edit the list of rules so I can modify and tune existing searching creating new ones. " Help!!
