  1. I realize this will be of interest only to a subset of persons here, but it's a fairly large subset, so.... I recently bought a Samsung Note 8 running Android 7.1.1. I was disappointed to find that the ability to start creating an Evernote note on the lockscreen seems to be gone, since a specific item in the phone's Settings > Notification > Evernote is no longer available. (See my post regarding this in relation to Android 6.) However, the Note 8/Android 7 combination does allow you to replace one of the two shortcuts on the lockscreen, so I replaced Phone with Evernote, which does provide quick swipe access to the app. But then you have to start a new note manually. Then I discovered, under Settings > Phone > S Pen, the option "Screen off memo," which lets you create notes directly on the lockscreen, and this is where things got interesting. Interesting, dumb, and frustrating. Because if only these lockscreen notes could be synced to Evernote.... It seems, however, that lockscreen notes are saved to Samsung Notes, and Samsung Notes will sync to the Samsung account, but not to Evernote. Now, the separate app S Notes can sync to Evernote quite handily, but the lockscreen notes cannot be saved to it. S Notes downloaded to my phone automatically when I let Google restore apps, since I had it on my previous phone; apparently it may not appear on new Note 8s as such, but it's available in the Play Store. S Notes are different from Samsung Notes, and are much more highly functional--which would be why Samsung wouldn't supply them on new phones, because Samsung creates great hardware and then goes for dumb and frustrating on software. At any rate, there's good info on Samsung Notes vs. S Notes in a Reddit post here: http://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyNote8/comments/7100l6/difference_between_s_note_and_samsung_notes_and/. (scroll down to zolares' long comment). So S Notes sync nicely to EN; but lockscreen notes save to Samsung Notes, which can't sync to EN. The kludge I've worked out is to take notes on the lockscreen, and then share them manually from within Samsung Notes. This can be done from Samsung Notes' Share function, which will let you share as PDF (or as their proprietary format); then you can attach the PDF to an Evernote note. But I prefer a different option, which is to go to the lockscreen note in Samsung Notes and use the S Pen's Smart Select function to select the note's content and then share the resulting image to Evernote. Did I mention this was a kludge? But it does work, at least for short notes, and looks like it could be useful. Bonus: EN will scan the handwriting in the image (even my sloppy mess handwriting) and extract searchable text from it, making it easier to find the note later. OK, thanks for reading, hope this helps someone!
  2. Hello, I recently upgraded from a Google Pixel to the Samsung Note 8. On the pixel I had no problem unlocking Evernote with my fingerprint. On the Note everytime I try I get a message on the lock screen that says "Fingerprint not available at the moment" and I have to type my pin. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know what might be the cause. I can unlock my device, Samsung Pay, and "LastPass" with my fingerprint. Thanks for the help. Michael
  3. Hi, I use Evernote extensively in day to day work. I am planing to buy Samsung Note 8 with s pen. Does it supports handwriting via S pen in Evernote app to write a note or sketch. Please share how is the performance and productivity with this device. Thank u Abhishek
  4. Hi EN Enthusiasts, Wondering, am I the only one who is currently battling with the EN IT Support on blurred images with EN mutishot camera on Samsung Devices: "Ever note multishot camera blurs images irrespective of what I do and how good lighting around it. IT creates an issue with recognition and document processing. This is in manual mode. In Automatic is gets even worse. Once I turn off the Evernote Multishot and switch to native system Samsung Note 5 camera - the pictures are much crispier. However the Evernote functionality is lost by doing it. Now I have to got to CamScanner to do the right cropping of the documents and then importing them in Evernote which is very tedious and lengthy process. It first happened since Evernote upgraded to 'scannable' version of photo functionality. Please help as it wastes a lot of of my time." Got a response from EN it was due to 'shaking' I am not very comfortable to accept for a god sake: It is easy to say the blurred images are from shaking - however on my Samsung device it is rarely possible to get a reasonable quality irrespective of shaking WHEN using any of the built-in functions of Evernote. As I mentioned in my original case, all is good when using the system camera, BUT the EN functionality is lost. I have tested today it on my wife's Android device (Samsung S6) as well and managed to get similar issue. Cheers, Stas
  5. I am just wondering why specific features are not available to all devices??? For example - I often use an iPad, and Macbook - especially for work. I can make tables on my Macbook, but not on my iPad Pro.
  6. When I got my Samsung Galaxy phone, it transfered stored notes in a memory stick to Samsung's Memo app. Then I installed Evernote and I thought it would just automatically take over, but it didn't; or I didn't manage to do it. So, how do I transfer my numerous memos to Evernote?
  7. I just bought myself a shiny new Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), excited to jump in and use it for notetaking in class. However, the experience of Evernote on this tablet is downright awful. The real lag issues don't surface until you go into a PDF to annotate. It then lags scrolling, writing, choosing color/tools toolbars. Downright unusable. Please please please make this experience better. For a brand new tablet that's not something super low end (I can stream just fine on this, and no other apps have lagged on this tablet, including OneNote, etc.), I would expect a much more fluid user experience with this application. Please and thank you!

After 2 or more years of using the paid version of this app, I cancelled my subscription. Why? Because the app causes errors across my devices, I load to capture a document that I need for my business, the first shot sometimes works... But by the second shot.... My phone is in boot loader, repeat boot loader, the phone could have 100% battery and still not restart, if you have less than 50% battery then you dare not use the app as it my phone needs a PC connection to be restored/ restarted. So is it your device? NO... My poor phone has undergone testing and flashing on numerous occasions, I swapped to iphone... same problem, iPad... Same problem, LG latest phone... Same problem, latest Microsoft... Same problem, brand new tablet with only Evernote installed... Same problem. This app has something seriously wrong with the code, I am very disappointed that the time has come to purge Evernote from all my systems, recall all devices within the business, flash them and find an alternative for our business needs. Since I ended my subscription I find that Evernote does not offer Support to FREE customers, they didn't pay attention to any of my correspondence while I was a member and this is a shame. 2 Years ago I was immensely satisfied with all its great features, which I'm going to miss... But like the rest of the world, I need my devices and apps working correctly. If someone can suggest an alternative vendor that has customer support, I am looking to be able to scan a document and view it across the business, possibly something compatible with Dropbox. Thanks
  9. HI All, I have a Galaxy Note 4 and I take a lot of picture notes for work. I noticed that once I hit around 3 pictures per note, every time I try to add more pictures to that note my phone will shut off and restart. To be specific, it won't shut off when I press the camera icon, it does it when the camera is active for more than 3 to 4 seconds. Is anyone else having this issue?
  10. So I started using Evernote a few months ago on my Samsung Galaxy S5 using the Android app. I would notice that these banners would appear above my list of notes (like "sign up for premium" or tutorials on how to do this or that). Once I saw a banner that said I could get free Evernote Premium for a certain time because I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. At first I pressed the "X" in the top right corner of the banner to close it. Then a while later it popped up again and I closed it again. It's been about 2 months and the banner has not shown up, and I have not been able to find any way to redeem this offer now. I am pretty sure this offer is legitimate because it says so on Samsung's official website http://pages.samsung.com/ca/galaxys5/English/galaxys5/galaxygifts.html Does anyone know how I would go about redeeming my free "Galaxy Gift"? I would greatly appreciate it.
  11. I am using Galaxy S3 and I wanted to make a selected text bold. So I have selected the text by highlighting it, and then pressing the bold button. Instead of making the selected text bold, it actually deleted the text. Same applies to underline or making the text italic. Anyone having the same problem? Please advise. Thanks
  12. When I started evernote for the first time there was a banner that allowed to subscribe for premium for 12 months. I incidentally dismissed it and now I can't find how to subscribe for evernote premium. I can't find this in UI. Any idea how to do that?
  13. Hello everyone. I have both a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet. On my phone everything is working great with Evernote. I can Launch Evernote from the list of installed Apps, and also add the Evernote icon to a homescreen, add a widget, etc... However, my problem is that on the Note tablet I can not do any of this. No matter what I do there seems to be no way to add the Evernote icon to a homescreen or launch Evernote from the list of installed apps since it's not showing up in the list. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc... nothing works. The problem seems to be tied to the fact that Evernote comes preinstalled on this tablet, so the stock launcher is treating it differently. (That's just my best guess). For example, no matter what I do or try, the Evernote icon NEVER shows up in the list of installed or downloaded Apps even though the app is installed. For example, when I go to the Google Play store it shows the app as installed and I can thus open Evernote that way. Here's a few more details. On my 2014 edition Note tablet, there is a "Galaxy Apps" icon which opens up a similar app like Google Play or the Amazon App store apps. When I open up that Galaxy Apps icon, then I can eventually find the Evernote app icon buried a few pages deep and then launch the app. Even then it's not really the app icon because I can't long press on it and add it to the desktop. It's just the info page for the app with the options to uninstall updates or launch the app. So, on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 edition tablets is this the only way to launch the Evernote app - by going first to one of the Play store's then launching the app? That's crazy unless I'm missing something. Any ideas as to why Evernote does not show up in the normal list of installed Apps? Thanks, Brian
  14. Hi Guys, I recently bought the Samsung Note 4 which is great. It came with a year Evernote Premium so I've been checking it out. Both S-note and Evernote have some distinct and great features, so I would like to use both applications. Both applications feature a synchronization option, which I have checked. But applications are not synchronizing and I can't figure out why. My ideal workflow would be that the hand written action memo's in S-note, are saved in text to Evernote. I was hoping this would be possible via an S-note files (action memo/s-note file/transforme to text). I was expecting to find the same notes in Evernote as in S-note after the sync option is checked. But this is not happening. Any ideas anybody? What are your best workflows for quick hand written memo's and making use of Evernote functionalities? Best regards, Costa
  15. On my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in the Evernote app the green round edit button and the samsung multi window button occupy almost the same space. I always hit the wrong one! See attached screenshot. In contrast check the screen shot of quill where the multi window button is integrated more unobtrusively. IIRC that app is open source so you should be able to take a look how it's done. For context: I'm on Android 4.1.2. I've heard they changed the multi window behavior but maybe this is still worth taking a look at. PS: It's neat that evernote is multi window capable at all. Really useful!
  16. I am using evernote on Samsung S-Note Tablet 10" 2014 edtion, and I take a lot of notes; so I decided to share my notes on a live skype presentation on from PC. When I open my Evernote Windows on my PC (synched with my tablet), my hand-written notes show in .psd file format at a VERY LOW resolution .psd file format. How low is the resolution you might ask?: Think of the files being faxed using a 1978 300 baud dialup modem vs. emailed using a 100 MB high speed internet connection... that's how junky and lowres are the psd file formats, which I was displaying from my evernote Windows/PC application! so, I go online to download an application that opens .psd files, assuming that this will solve the low resolution problem... I find out that .psd is a format used by Adobe to lock pdf files, it's a 3D constructon file format, it's a Harvard Graphics .psd file... so many .psd Windows file converters, but none will open our beloved .psd file generated from Evernote!! clues? help? again, my objective is to show my .psd notes in HIGH RESOLUTION...
  17. Background I have used EN on my Samsung Note 10.1 for yearslove them both and makes me almost paper free!I have a standard format entry of plain headings and bullet point entries as per this noteAndroid just updated app to 6.0.2Problem Suddenly I can't enter bulleted or formatted notes notes using the standard Samsung handwriting inputIf I switch on the bullet point (blob/number/checkbox) and try to write anything it just disappears and the bullet format switches offI can make entries using the keypad and don't have this problem.I can handwrite unbulletted entries as normal.Have restarted the pad and the app but no change. Also fails if I try to edit old notes that worked fine when written.Obviously I can abandon my beloved format and just write lines of text but it's annoying to have to change habits for something that has worked for years. Your help appreciated.

    android Evernote for Samsung Gear

In many previews about this product, I've read about Evernote app, but cannot find any more info. I assume that it will be 1st party product directly from Evernote - has anybody found any more info? To be honest - I'm not really interested about Samsung Gear, but more about how will Evernote handle UI, how the application will work and what will be able to do
  19. Hello, someone knows how to install Evernote on the Samsung Gear 2 or where to download it?
  20. Hi, I am just discovering Evernote, so I know very little and have lots of questions. I am a teacher and use Livescribe to record notes for my students. Livescribe has both visual writing going on along with a recorded voice explanation. I want to upload these Livescribe Pencasts, (PDFs) so my students could access them using a PC, a Mac, an I phone, an I-pad, an Android phone, a Samsung, or any other device. Would Evernote allow me to do this? Thanks for your help!

  22. Hi, I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and have the Evernote app v5.8.1 installed through the Google Play store however, the Samsung Apps store is displaying an update (also v5.8.1) and prompting me to install it. An update is not seen in the Google Play store as the app is up to date. Why is this happening? Are the two different in any way? Regards, John.
  23. I am using note 3, and i have notes on evernote that i want to move into s-note tab so i can open my evernote's note on s-note application. is it possible to move or connect the notebook between notebooks tab and s-note tab? any advise would be appreciated thanks!
  24. I have been using Evernote on my PC and I synchronized my notes with Sticky Notes (http://hosting.edo-soft.com/stickynotes/), so the notes are displayed as sticky notes on my desk, this is cool; but now need to do the same on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, Evernote app is already installed, and I have tried many sticky notes apps but none can be linked to Evernote. Anyone know what application can give me this functionality to show notes from Evernote as sticky notes on the home screen of my Android tablet?????? Regards, Cristian P.S: Sorry about my english, it isn't my native languaje.
  25. I'm about to buy a Samsung Note 8.0 and it has a killer feature that I don't think Evernote yet - supports: Multiview. The ability to support two apps open side by side. In this case I would like to be reading a web page or some other app and take notes at the same time. I know I can do this on real computer today, but there will times where I just have my tablet. Please help. Cheers Mark
