Evernote is a wonderful platform, but I have a concern and I am sure I am not alone. I want to use Evernote for managing all sorts of information related to work projects, but I want to have the ability to export them to a desktop folder to use elsewhere if I want to. As far as I can tell, Evernote supports exports in PDF and HTML, but this is not very useful to me. I would like to be able to export to .doc or .txt so I can use my data outside of Evernote if I ever choose to. Right now it seems that content is basically trapped in Evernote's ecosystem forever. Please tell me I am wrong.
Hi there - I'm trying to move over to Evernote from SOHO Notes Mac and having a bit of a problem. I can easily export all my SOHO notes as individual RTF notes. These notes all look fine in any normal text application (TextEdit, Textwrangler, Mac finder, etc...). I should be able to just drag these notes onto the Evernote icon in the dock and have them import; most of them do, but some don't; they just come in as blank notes labeled "untitled clipped note". I can see no difference between the ones that work and the ones that don't, but it makes it impossible for me to reliably move all of my notes (maybe 400) over to Evernote. Any thoughts about why this is happening, and what I can do about it? Thanks! Rich B 2013 Macbook Air Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.3
Greetings, I recently replaced my (very) old Power Mac G5 with an iMac. I was using Soho Notes (previously StickyBrain, which I liked, but not Soho Notes). I just made the move to Evernote. Soho Notes only allowed RTF and Plain Text exports. I have about 200 RTF files I need to import into Evernote. Although I have explored the Blogs, Knowledge Base and Forums. I am having a little difficulty figuring out the best way to import these files in. I would appreciate some tips or a link to an existing thread. I have found that I could drag the individual RTF files to the Evernote Helper in the menu bar; but if there is a better way to do this, I would appreciate it. Two of the files that exported from Soho Notes are .xml, any tips about these? I hope I am not overlooking some glaringly obvious way to do this. Thanks in advance, Fred K
