  1. It would be great if i could just right click on a line and press 'insert date and time' then type my note Is this feature available? I get a lot of calls and notes which I need to keep typing the date+time and for example a phone call note which specifically need a date and time log of the call etc and it would be so much quicker to just do a right click insert - then type away what i needed to for that moment
  2. Good evening, As a researcher I deal with large amounts of texts using dedicated apps like Nvivo or Atlas.ti, or for lit Qiqqa. the principle of theses QADQAS or ref manager is the same: tagging portions of texts with nodes/tags/categories so then you can do a transversal reading of all your data by category or topic. I would love to have this feature in Evernote, which I use mainly to type in and archive my field notes and web article clips. So far you can tag an entire note, but you cannot assign a particular bit of text to a tag, this is really too bad in my opinion. Other note taking software allow this feature (Microsoft couterpart) and many of my colleagues have now either started or migrated to that other software partly because they do support tagging datum/particuler selections of text. But overall I love Evernote so I wish we could have this feature in a near future. This is a long shot, but if you are a user who would also like this feature please do not hesitate to reply to this post to show your support to this request. Thanks
  3. I'd like to be able to graph my basal body temp, along with pulse, and blood pressure. Being able to display this in the form of a line graph would be awesome! I'd come up with plenty other things to track as well. Evernote with charts would be my go to for everything app!
  4. I've just been writing down possible improvements for Evernote everytime I come up against something that hinders my productivity. If you can actually do any of these things, I'd love for someone to tell me how. Tell me what you think of my ideas, and feel free to add your own experiences of how Evernote could be more productive. Here we go: Notes stay where I want them: If I've clipped a page with Evernote web clipper, chances are it's a longish page (or at least longer than the Evernote display window). So now I'm using the clipped page in Evernote I'm flipping between it and another note since I'm referencing it. However every time I go back to my clipped page it's returned to the top of the page, instead of staying at the section I was looking at. Could Evernote please remember where in a note you last were? It would save a lot of time. Star locations so they can be added to notes, or notes added to locations. Very useful if you can geotag a to-do list so that when you get to the place where you need to do it, it pops up all handy like! Evernote sync events/reminders to the iOS calendar. All my other events are in the calendar, wouldn't it be great if Evernote could be too? On iOS the only way I seem to be able to get out of text editing a note and back to full view is to click the 'search note' box then press 'cancel'. Couldn't there be a 'done' button or something? One click. The alternative now is closing the note then going back into it. I'd love to be able to make reminders for individual dot points within a note, not just whole notes. That way I can write a to do list in one note covering one topic, but make a reminder for one of the items one day, then another day for next item. Deleting a reminder shouldn't delete a note. In Evernote for desktops if I've got a reminder selected and I want to delete it quickly...well I can't. Pressing 'delete' deletes the note, not the reminder. I don't delete notes that often so I'd prefer pressing delete didn't do it straight off. Syncing attachments. I'm working on a MS Word document, and I've attached it to a note so I can share it with a colleague so he can give me input as I go. However the document I've attached stays the same, since it's been uploaded like an email attachment. Couldn't Evernote work a bit more like Dropbox in this regard? How handy would it be if I could still be working on the document on my computer, but my colleague can see the changes without me having to re-attach the document? Even better if he can make changes too (given permissions. You could set attachments to be read only, read & write, depending on who you're sharing it with) The dark grey sidebar in desktop is ugly and clunky, I prefer to hide it, but it has the notebook list on it. If I'm just displaying the 2nd sidebar and I want to switch between notebooks I have to click the notebook name, eg 'All Notes' then select the notebook. One click too many! Couldn't the notebook list just be displayed in the 2nd sidebar? It could be collapsible so as to give the option to reduce the view back to what it shows now. Or create keyboard shortcuts for your notebooks (command+shift+1, command+shift+2, etc or something). At the moment I prefer to just show all notes rather than having to slowly click between notebooks but this is not optimal. The Web Evernote actually displays information the best- 1st column: shortcuts, Notebooks and Tags, 2nd column: Reminders and Note List, 3rd column: Note view. Simple and lovely. List view for iOS. I can view notes in snippet and card view, but I'm a big boy, I know what's in my notes, I'd prefer they were condensed down into list view like I do on the desktop version so I don't have to scroll to see them all. It should display the note's name, which notebook it's in, and the date modified/created (depending on what the user prefers). I'd also love (in both iOS and desktop versions) for the notes to be divided into their notebooks when I view them in All Notes in list mode. As in they still display in a list, but they have subheadings that are their notebooks. It would just add a bit of organisation, and save flipping between notebooks once and for all (for me). Checkboxes are lists, too. Right now in both Desktop and iOS version you can't straight out make a list of checkboxes, you have to write something after the checkbox before hitting return, or it will delete the checkbox. Saaaay Whaaat?! Delete it? Why not just go to the next line, or even better go to the next line and make me another checkbox? While we're on lists, I think Evernote can do To-Do lists better. Have a look at the app 'Wunderlist'. I don't really use it, but I think it does what it does very beautifully. Basically, I'd like to be able to make a Wunderlist in an Evernote note, with all the entailing features. aaand another list one: Lock a note (except for checkboxes). I give a checklist to my mother and she goes to tick something off the list by checking a box. Being the luddite she is, though, her finger hits somewhere on the screen other than a checkbox, and it takes her into text editing mode. Noooo, I don't want her able to change anything in my precious note! Can't I lock the note before I give it to her?cheers, and go for it! Brendan
  5. Can we expect to someday get the ability to customize the look of evernote for ourselves? To apply themes that change colors and fonts and backgrounds? Not just in the note area. The bright white is harsh at night, it would be nice to have an after dark mode and some general flexibility in evernote's appearance. It would be nice to tailor at least the surface cosmetics to a something of a more personal fit.
  6. Adding hyperlinks is easier on the desktop than on iOS devices. On iOS, the simplest way to add hyperlinks is to copy the link then select the text then click add hyperlink then clear the field then add paste the link then add return, I propose a leaner solution with fewer steps. Either: 1. Change the "add hyperlink" icon to "take whatever is on the clipboard and immediately add it as a hyperlink without asking or confirming or anything" or 2. Have an additional (perhaps optional) ability to do that Thanks!
  7. Is there any Android app with a good UI for browsing Evernote notes? I find the Android Evernote Application to have bad UI in a browsing notes approach. The notebooks are difficult to distinguish from the notes itself. There's to much space being wasted in listings, there should be more listing options besides snippet and listview, there's so much unwanted information, I just want to see names to choose, nothing else. The app itself is slow at some points. And a simple but with high productivity enhancement is the swipe on the note to get to the next/previous note in the list. This one is a must. Tired of seeing one note, going back, search for next note (because the last one isn't highlighted or anything), pressing the next note. And this over and over. With a simple swipe browsing through notes would be a snap. They really should look at GTasks to see how a good UI is made. I don't see Evernote to change all this sometime soon, so is there any Application that uses Evernote that has a better UI? I recognize that Evernote sync system and desktop experience is one of the best. My problem is with the Android app.
