    MAC: Find and Replace?

What about for mac users? I can't find any way to do a find-and-replace on a Mac.
  2. Please support selectively sync notebooks! Our notebook becomes bigger and bigger especial if you are a premium user. However, our Mac hard drive is usually just 256GB or 512GB. iOS, Android version Evernote all supports. Alternote also supports this feature. This feature was asked over THREE years ago by other people. And then again and again. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/21933-archived-howto-how-do-i-not-sync-certain-notebooks-apart-from-cancel-premium/https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/39658-selective-notebook-syncing/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/61920-synchronize-selected-notebook-on-different-pc/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/60643-stop-sync-of-folder/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/60479-selective-sync-on-computer-roadmap/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/67191-syncing-only-a-few-notebooks-to-from-my-home-account-to-my-work-computer/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/65599-request-sync-only-select-notebooks/ I was a premium user. I like Evernote so much. But my hard drive has limited storage, so I canceled my premium account. And my friends canceled their premium accounts because of the same reason. Please support selectively sync notebooks! Thanks!
  3. I'm a happy Evernote user, but I miss a feature many people have asked for and will greatly appreciate - support for LaTeX formulas. If may sound complicated, but integration should be actually extremely simple. Here's how it could work: 1) Similarly to URL-to-hyperlink conversion, a LaTeX formula could be automatically generated by converting text surrounded by specific characters ($ in LaTeX). For example, I can type "Today we will discuss how equations of the form $ax^2 + bx + c = 0$ can be solved" 2) Finally, the formula text can be converted to an image. Luckily, there are many online services that given the LaTeX source produce a PNG image (even with transparency and custom color by some services). So the only thing the Evernote team needs to implement is to provide the option to automatically and manyally convert a piece of text to an image by querying some well-established online service. So adding LaTeX math support boild down to implementing a simple UI feature! Now it sounds simple, but this could be a selling point to a huge amount of people (especially in academia). I'm not aware of any good note taking tool that has seamless formula integration and synchronization. Even in the current Evernote state the functionality can be emulated by dragging LaTeX formula images to Evernote. However, this is tedious and does not facilitate modifications. Therefore, it would be good after the image has been acquired, the source text to be saved along for future modifications. What do you think, Evernote staff? P.S. I just saw on your blog that you're supporting the use of Evernote in schools, etc. This makes the suggested feature even more prominent.
  4. Dear All, I really would love to see a solution for archiving notes. I've been using for 4 years and now I have some notes that I want to keep in the system, but want to remove from my search. As time goes, my search are getting more difficult to separate valid information and archived information. Like we have Notes, Notebook, Tags, Atlas, Market and Premium button on the Mac version, I dream with an Archive button. Every note I move to this icon will make it not searchable, unless I'm searching inside the Archive View. You could even move a completely Notebook. I have many scenarios where this is valid, some of them here: You finished a graduation course full of notes and you want these notes in a place that you may need but normally it will not be part of your search or have a distract visual in All Notes ViewYou closed a company and want all the notes in a special placeYou may not want to have this Archive notes in your local hard disk, unless you click "Download"You prepare for a vacation and suddenly canceled. You want to have this hide in some place but not displaying all the time. I think it would be a great feature. Thank you, Patrick Santana

    Different Colors for Highlighter

Please introduce different colors highlight! In previous versions of the software - before the highlight button was inserted - I was able to highlight in different colors by using Mac's text contextual menu. Now it's impossible... Please introduce this option, its helpfulness is crucial! Thanks, dario
  6. I know EN does not try to be a word processor, nevertheless I think it would be very handy (in PC versions at least) to define text "styles". I have a number of text styles I use in my notes that involve a particular font, color, size, etc.. At the moment I have to select each piece of text within the note and repeatedly set the same font, color, size etc. in order to have consistent formatting. In the case of the font itself, this means having to scroll through a long list of fonts to find the one I want every time (usually Courier because I want fixed pitch on that section, but I don't want the whole note in Courier). I try and use the same styling in most of my notes. Does anyone else think being able to define a handful of styles would be handy ? They could then be selected in a drop-down list on the formatting toolbar.

    Recurring Reminders

I have found a way to create recurring reminders for Evernote with a litte help from Gmail and Google Calendar. Maybe it is helpful for someone who is missing this feature until Evernote hopefully implements it. There are a few possibilities out there in the web. But I wanted a free one and also one in my favorite eMail application. 1. Create a recurring calendar event in Google Calendar with a title, reminder, the notebook-name and a tag like: Newsletter !tomorrow @Office #marketing Newsletter - your reminder title !tomorrow - your reminder @Office - your notebook #marketing - your tag IMPORTANT Don't forget to activate, that you will be reminded to this event by eMail. 2. Go to "Settings" in Gmail - Klick on Forwarding Pop/IMAP and then on "add forwarding-address" - Place your Evernote eMail which you are using to forward anything into your inbox. It's an email like xxxxxxxx@m.evernote.com and safe it. Google will send directly (after you confirmed) a confirmation code to your Evernote eMail (xxxxxxxx@m.evernote.com) Go to your Evernote inbox. The eMail from Google lands there. Grab the confirmation code and paste it at Gmail to confirm your Evernote adres. 3. Set a filter in Gmail - Go to your Gmail account settings. - Set a new filter and place to the "FROM" field this address: calendar-notification@google.com - Click on "create filter with this search results" at the bottom right. - Then activate "forward to", and choose your Evernote eMail (which you have activated in Step 2) Save your filter. Done! I have tested it, it works very well. You are now able to set recurring calendar events for Evernote in Google Calendar. Google Mail forwards now calendar events with an activated eMail reminder from calendar-notification@google.com to your Evernote address. Evernote places the event including the reminder the specified notebook including the tag. There is just one issue when I am right. Correct me please, if I am wrong: You always have to set up your recurring reminders to "one day before", because there is no option in Evernote to specify a time for a reminder in the subject. Example: When you wanna be reminded regularly on a Friday, you have to set your reminder to thursday, because you are using !tomorrow in your subject. That's it. Hopefully this is helpful for someone. Regards. Note: Please Evernote. A small fine task management with recurring reminders would be really fine.

    Recurring Reminders

Hello I would like to be able to set reccuring reminders on specific notes so that I can set up a note for recurring events that have to be dealt with. It would be nice if they could be set up in a way like: every 2 days every week every 2 weeks every month etc. Of course this could be even more specifc like: every last friday in the month. Kind regards, Leu
  9. Currently, it's only possible to get a two step verification code via text message or Google Authenticator. it’s important to keep my accounts as secure as possible, so I was really happy when Evernote announced that two-step verification is available to all Evernote users. I enable it immediately. But now i’m forced to use Google Authenticator. I’ve had to switch to Google Authenticator to copy my one-time-paswsword and quickly switch back to Evernote to paste it before it expires! It’s very stressful. For all my other accounts (that use two steps verification) I simply use 1Password (build in time-based one-time password (TOTP)). Only for Evernote I’ve had to install the Google Authenticator App. Hopefully Evernote will supports the time-based one-time password (TOTP) feature of the 1Password extension, so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
  10. At present, the structural organization of Evernote is in dire need of improvement. Here are the no-brainer features that should be added to Evernote as soon as humanly and technically possible. 1) The contents of every note are organized into sections 2) Every notebook is organized into sub-notebooks 3) Stacks are organized into folders aka meta-stacks. My request basically boils down to adding 3 new structural entities: 1) note sections; 2) sub-notebooks; 3) meta-stacks. If you agree that these features need to be added, please upvote this post. I hope to get an official response from the Evernote Development Team as to whether the abovementioned features are going to be added.
  11. I know this has been mentioned before, but I think it's worth posting again. It would be really useful and a better UX if searches included tag hierarchy. Or at the very least gave users an option to enable a hierarchical search of tags. For example given three tags where apple and banana are children of fruit: > fruit > apple > banana I add two notes, and tag one apple and the other one banana. Currently if I search 'tag:fruit' nothing is returned, but that is not intuitive given that I've organised my tags hierarchically. What I believe is more natural, is if I search 'tag:fruit' thej it should return anything tagged fruit, apple, or banana. Thanks!
  12. Hi, feature request of a size option to allow for smaller inline attachment icons. To save vertical space I often like to have them in the same line as the text; it would be nice to be able to maintain the same line height throughout the note to avoid a disjointed note. Attached a crude example of what this might look like scaled down from the current look.
  13. Is anybody familiar with any sort of rules engine/ auto filter in Evernote. I hate to say it but, I'm looking for something akin to an Outlook feature where I can sort my notes as they are received via e-mail. I have filters setup in my GMail account that automatically forward some notes to evernote via email. However this causes a large number of new notes that are unfiled and end up in the Default folder. I would like to setup some sort of rule engine to process these as they come in. Thanks for the help. Hemanth

    Request: BETTER table editing!

PLEASE Evernote-Team give us BETTER table editing! Table editing in Evernote for Mac is very limited and frustrating for daily use. CRITICAL Features:* Select entire Rows and Columns.* Rearrange (Copy / Paste) entire Rows and Columns in a table. (this is a real PAIN with a bigger table!)* Format selected Rows and Columns at the same time. (try to format an entire column with an identical background on lots of rows ...) Wishes:* Edit Default Cell Padding for all tables. (todays default takes a lot of space)* Would be great if tables could be defined like in HTML or Markup style.* Optionally define cell width as percentage value. Bugs:* <Backspace> does not work on an empty line in a table cell!* Cell width adjustment handle appears about 4mm to the left of cell border when using two screens and if note is longer and has a vertical slider!* No cell width adjustment possible on a copied table in the same note! (focus change to other note fixes this)* iOS: Vertical Cell Alignment in iOS-Apps should be top (not middle) like with Evernote Mac! Thank you for your efforts :-)
  15. Evernote is one of my favourite apps. But I do miss the support of Textexpander on my I-pad pro with smart keyboard. That would make my GTD workflow in combination with Fantastical 2 as my agenda and Omnifocus 2 as my project /to do planner (both support TE) and Evernote as my notebook / archive totally a blast. I also do use Snapentry or Drafts for implementing notes in Evernote with the support of TE, but often I just want directly work in Evernote.

    Calendar View

Hi Guys! I would really be interested in a month-by-month calendar view to see all the notes I created. Is this a feature the evernote team is thinking about adding in the future? It would be so helpful in getting an extra visual handle on all the notes I've made and when they were created. Many thanks, Christina
  18. A thing that's been bothering me in this great service ever since I started using it 2 years ago, is that it is not possible to set a sorting order for a specific notebook. To me this seems very basic, so I was very disappointed that it's still not available in the new beta. I mean, am I the only one who wants my receipts ordered by date and my recipes ordered by title? My family photos ordered by date and my art photos ordered by title? I do sincerely hope this can be implemented!! Once again, thanks for the great software.
  19. I sometimes forward an email to my evernote account to create a Note but I also sometimes find it more efficient to bcc an email to my evernote. However, if I bcc I end up having an email created Note in Evernote that does not have any headers and really on a glance does not even look like an email. Is there a simple way to make a bcc email created Note look like a forwarded email with headers? Thank you for any tips.
  20. Hi all! Afaik, Evernote search supports either boolean AND (just concatenate search terms) or boolean OR (use "any: ..."). Is there any way available now or planned for future releases to support full boolean search, that is: combine both methods. Real life example: I use Evernote to keep track of my tax records and for my yearly tax declaration. For this I have tagged all relevant notes with tags "tax", "<year>" (e.g. "2013") and "tax-longterm". Tag combinations like "tax 2013" mean "this is a document relevant for 2013 tax declaration". But there are also older documents I need each year, like rental agreement contract from 2005. For this I use the additional tag "tax-longterm". Any document tagged with "tax-longterm" means: "this is relevant for this year's tax declaration, regardless of the year with which it is tagged". So my rental agreement is tagged with "2005 tax tax-longterm". When I want to create ONE Evernote search that gives me all relevant documents for 2013 tax declaration, I'd like to search for something like "any: (tag:tax tag:2013) tag:tax-longterm" meaning: "give me all documents that are tagged with 'tax 2013' OR 'tax-longterm'". But unfortunately, Evernote search doesn't support bracketed searches or any other kind of combining search terms with AND or OR as of now. Does anybody know a trick, hack to make this work? Hacks like combining tags "tax" and "2013" into one tag "tax2013" are no good since I use the year tag for lots of other purposes and don't want to end up with a gazillion combined tags like "house2013" and "income2013". The way I do it now is to use two separate searches "tax 2013" and "tax-longterm", but this becomes tiresome when you have to switch back and forth between both. Thanks for your help! Ax
  21. I mostly use evernote to collect code snippets mainly C/C++ related. When I copy the code from my editor like vim or xcode(mac), I dont see the syntax being heighlighted. On googling I found a online syntax highlighting tool. (http://tohtml.com/c/). I was able to get my code higlighted but when I paste to evernote I see all the code being pasted in a single line as below : int sum(){>----int result = 0;>----return result != 0;} Let me know if this could be avoided or if there is a better way for pasting code into evernote.. THanks
  22. Sometimes we all think about our tagging behaviour and this sometimes results in editing, assigning or deleting tags from a number of existing notes. In such a case, the edit date of those notes will immediately be changed. This seems obvious, but it might get a bit cumbersome, e.g. when I delete a tag on 50 existing notes, I don't necessarily want to change the edit date of those notes, because this action has nothing to do with the note itself, but rather with my decision to re-consider my tagging behavior. This is why I'd love to see an option to assign or delete tags from notes without this resulting in changed edit dates.
  23. Would be great to be able to adjust the Evernote application font size. That is, the font(s) that are used in the side panels, the list of notes, note cards, snippets, etc. I can make the text I type into notes as big as needed, but I still have to squint at the list view (especially with high-res displays). A global setting in the Preferences / Options would be sufficient, but even better would be some keyboard shortcuts to zoom in or out I'm a Mac user, but I believe this is a missing feature on Windows as well.
  24. Hello, My issue is more of a bug report. I love the new feature in Evernote for iOS that lets me duplicate a note. I use my iPad at the gym. I create template notes for my different workouts and duplicate them and add the date to track my workout of the day. I used to have to duplicate the note using Evernote on my Mac and right clicking and "Copy to 'Workouts' Again" to duplicate my template into my Workouts notebook. Now I can do it on the iOS app using the duplicate feature. Now to my problem. When I use the "Copy..Again" feature on Mac app, it creates a new note with the Creation date as the current day. Perfect so I can sort by creation date for my workouts dates. However, when I use the Duplicate feature in iOS it makes a new note, but it keeps the original Created date of the original note. If I keep duplicating my template then I end up with a bunch of workouts "Created" on the same day. Sure the Updated date changes, but I really need the Created date to be the date I create the note (day of my workout). This seems to be more of a bug than a personal problem/feature request, because I would think these two features would be consistent in how they treated the Created Date. On the Mac app, it doesn't matter much either way since it is fairly simple to modify that date, but in iOS I am limited in what I can modify. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  25. When I started using Evernote nearly a decade ago, the 100.000 total note limit felt pretty unattainable. However, after using this product as a bucket for everything over the years I'm apparently there, and I would guess that I'm not completely alone. I've brought this up with the EN support and the "solutions" I have been suggested are to either delete notes, export data out of Evernote (!) or open another account. One of the strengths with this platform is that you get to have everything searchable in one place, so none of these recommendations really solve the problem. What I've heard there seems to be no plans on raising the note limit, not even if you'd like to pay for it. It's reasonable that EN put limits on the size of note attachments and the amount of notebooks, tags, saved searches, but isn't it counterproductive to have a note-taking app that limits the amount of notes you can create? If Evernote still is aiming to be around in a 100 years it may be about time to adjust the note limitation accordingly.
