  1. I just opened one of my notes on my iPhone, and was trying to copy the note (so I could paste it in a phone IM), but as I was selecting the handles to drag over the text, the Copy/Paste bar popped up and I hit paste inadvertently, and ruined a long text that I really needed to keep. Is there nay way to get my original text back, or to force a revert to the note before these changes took effect? I couldn't find how to 'Undo" changes on the iPhone before it synced with the Evernote server.
  2. I need help getting back deleted notes. This happened a week or so ago. TLDR: I had a mixup with devices and my basic account. That resulted in me losing my notes. I still have the source .enml files, but can't open them. What do I do? I can't contact support with my basic account, so I'm writing here. --------- I have a basic account, so only 2 devices can be used. My laptop was associated with my account, but the motherboard broke, so I replaced it. That meant that my computer was recognized by Evernote as a new computer. So I removed my old computer, and logged into my new computer. That started me with a blank slate - I lost all my notes and notebooks from the web interface. I went to look on my mac to see if the library source files of the notes were there, and they were! They were not recognized by the Evernote app though. So the raw data is there, but it can't be opened by Evernote, and I've tried to use 3rd party solutions (Mac App: Alternote, Web App: http://enml-editor.ping13.net ) but they don't work. I tried uninstalling evernote, logging back in and out, rebooting, copying files, etc. Nothing works. Can I recover this data from Evernotes servers? How can I contact them without a paid account? --------- My goal: get my notes back. My Hope: I have the data on my desktop My request: how do I open / restore / import / view the source / get the text, etc. of my old notes? Freaked out! Help?
  3. Please help I accidentally deleted a tab with maybe another 50 sub-tabs. Which means there are around 500-600 notes that I need to re-tag, it's going to take forever! So as i recognized what I had done, I unplugged my internet to prevent it from syncing. The good news is that I checked my online account and in that version all the tabs are still there. My idea was to uninstall evernote on the PC, and then re-install it, in the hopes that it would download the old version of my database off the web. However I tried that, but when I re-installed evernote, it did not download anything. It already had all my notes there already, with the deleted tags still missing. So somehow uninstalling EN did'nt get rid on my local database. What do I do? so that I can get my online database to overwrite my local one?
  4. I am trying to recover a few months of missing log data from last year. Our Evernote data is archived everyday to a server. The archives seem to consist of .exb files, one of which is over 250MB in size. I can't seem to open the .exb files with Evernote. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
  5. My desktop version of Evernote crashed this morning and only partially recovered the data in my notebook. All files that were originally created before 2011 are there, but everything else is gone. The good news is that ALL OF MY FILES are still on Evernote Web but I can't figure out how to restore my desktop version from what's on Evernote Web. A simple sync did not make a difference. Can anyone please advise? I've read through what Evernote has shared on their help pages, but everything there points to restoring from a back-up that's already saved to the hard drive - my back-up on my drive did not do the trick (it only partially recovered) while I have no other offline back-up. I need to access what's on Evernote Web and get that onto my hard drive version. FWIW, I haven't opened up Evernote on iOS via my iPhone to see what's there. Thanks in advance for any help.
  6. I tried to cut and paste an audio file in the Evernote app, and when I hit the paste button it only pasted some text that got caught in the selection and not the audio file. How can I recover the recording? It was an hour long seminar that is highly relevant to the field I'm trying to find work in.
  7. - Microsoft Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) - Evernote 5.8.13.8152 (276152) Public I've deleted a tag tagged two notes, I thought that only this tag would be deleted, and these two notes would be untagged with it. But it turns out both gone away, and it is a thorough deletion, I cannot found these two notes in trash. This change has been synchronized in all my Evernote clients, including Evernote web, and I don't have a hard disk backup copy before delete operation, so that the recovery methods I found in Evernote knowledge and the threads about this problem in Evernote forum are not applicable for me. What can I do now? Suggestion: I think the current delete operation on a tag is ambiguous, the delete confimation dialog should informing that the notes related will be deleted, but not only 'this operation cannot be undone'.
  8. I recently noticed that I lost a substantial section of notes that I had written a couple weeks ago. My only assumption is that this is due to a syncing issue although I am at a loss as to how this could have possibly happened. In short, I desperately want to recover the notes. I am not a Premium subscriber at present, but if I upgrade to Premium will the history feature give me access to all of my past history or is this simply not tracked (i.e. history only begins being tracked from that point forward).
  9. thankfully this is a hypothetical quesiton if i delete a note from a notebook, then delete it from the trash, then buy evernote premium afterwards, can you recover that note ? thanks
  10. Hi! Just had to reinstall Windows 7. Not the friendly "you get to keep your installed programs installed" reinstall,, nor even the "you get to keep your drivers installed" reinstall. No, we are talking a "I don't think Windows has ever been on this system" fresh install. And here is the problem--a major chunk of my Evernote file database was in a file that was NOT backed up with the Evernote cloud services. I had copied it over and it was too big for the free monthly limit, so I placed it in an un-archived (by Evernote) folder, and then a few days later paid for the basic pay package. Naturally, I never got around to moving the stored information over to a cloud-archived directory... End result, about half of my database is stored in the Evernote cloud, and about half is sitting on my harddrive. I did not lose ANY of my data files, so my un-clouded directory is still on my harddrive--somewhere. Where would I find it, and how would I pull it back into Evernote after I reinstall Evernote? (Right now the system is siting next to me looking for every Windows 7 update ever created, which takes some time.... I figured I would do that first.) As always, TIA!
  11. I recorded a note today; however, to my dismay it must not have saved? How do I recover a discarded note? I found a tip to search here: \Internal storage\Android\data\com.evernote\files\unsaved_notes however, I must not be searching correctly as nothing shows. New to this and appreciate any help.
  12. I broke the screen on my Samsung S4 and replaced it with a new S4. I downloaded Evernote and logged in to my account but couldn't find a way to restore my notes. I checked my PC and it too had the new version of Evernote and assumed I was a first timer. It didn't have any of my notes. I couldn't find any data files on the PC that looked like Evernote data either. I can access my old phone by plugging it into my PC. Using Windows Explorer, I found my notes there under /com.evernote/files/user-####/notes. Is there some way to retrieve these?
  13. I have deactivated a business user that has left my company. I made the assumption that the user will not have access to the business notes but that the notes remained with the business. I did not, however, see the instructions that I needed to backup the users notes before deactivating. The notes are lost! Is there a way to recover them?
  14. I never registered my evernote account on my old phone. When I got my new phone I tried to login to the account from my old phone but could not (because it had never been registered). I did, however, have an evernote email address that was listed on my old phone but could not use that to login. Is there any way to recover the information stored on my old phone in the evernote account that was never registered?
  15. Ive recently turned on my phone thats been out of service for a couple months. When I did this, notes that have been saved for over half a year had been deleted, but previous words remained. I know ive synced them before and never accidentally deleted them. I dont have a premium account. If you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated, these notes meant alot to me.
  16. I'm using Windows 7. I had a note in my Evernote Trash, then I mistakenly emptied the Trash. Is it possible to recover or restore that note?
