  1. Is there a way to increase the recording quality? Or can anyone suggest an alternative app that records in higher quality, for example in mp3 format? I use Evernote to record music ideas on my phone, but the audio is really compressed and so you can't hear the music very clearly. I just want an app where I can record and easily organise ideas. The recording does not need to be super high quality, but Evernote is really compressed. A 4 minute audio file is about 100KB. When I record using the default recording app on my phone, the quality is much better. I have attached an example of one of my recordings below so you can hear how bad the sound quality is. (I have converted the file to mp3 so you can hear it, but this is pretty much how the original file sounds when played in Evernote). 10_Jan_2018_I_can_t_think_straight.mp3
  2. Hi, newbie here. I'm a paying customer of evernote, been using it for two years in my classroom, sharing notes to my students. For almost a month now, the recordings on the notes that I share to my students won't play. I use IOS on iPad Pros, Iphone x, iMac as well as browser versions. Please help. Thank you.
  3. been long time user of EN and a subscriber few weeks ago I submitted a support ticket but EN has not responded... new EN install v 6.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.8.5 With previous versions, able to record audio notes into my note new version unable to save notes. I am able see and press record the sound bar works (as audio is being detected) when ready to stop / save, click on SAVE No Audio file (where in previous versions audio file was visible) Tried uninstall / reinstall reboot cycles still no resolution thoughts ?
  4. I made an audio recording in Evernote on my iPad, and when I stopped the recording, the file vanished. It's not in the trash, or in the note. Is there a temporary file folder, or any way to recover the recording?
  5. I have several recordings of lectures and meeting that I would like to either remove the useless banter, or a question period, or a late start to a meeting. Is there any way at present to edit or crop an Evernote audio note?
  6. Hi, I'm after simultaneous audio recording and automatic transcription into text. I'm often is situations where I want to make voice comments that I later need in written form but since the transcription is always unprecice or unreliable, I need the original audio as a backup. On Evernote I can do one at the time very well but I need both functionalities at the same time. Obviously it's OK, if I first record voice notes and run the transcription afterwards, but Evernote either transcribes only or takes written notes, which are hard to make e.g. in expos. If you have a solution for this then I'd be happy to hear about it, Mika PS. I have both iPhone and iPad. I tried playing the recording from iPhone Evernote to iPad Evernote in transcription mode, but iPad refused to recognize recorded audio. While playing, it did recognize me speaking over the recording as I tested if it works at all...
  7. It would be great if Evernote had a feature with the web clipper if I could record short or long videos to give to team members instantly etc... it would be great to have features like: Jing or this app: www.getcloudapp.com
  8. Evernote allows you to record a meeting that you're in and take notes. But it doesn't sync the audio with the notes. So if I'm in a 2 hour meeting, and later realise that I was unclear about a certain point, I need to struggle through 2 hours of audio to listen to a 10 minutes section. Can Evernote make an update to the product to sync the text with the audio? Many note taking products do this, Notability being just one of them. If I need the section of audio, I just select the text that I was typing when that part of the conversation happened. This would allow me to rid myself of Notability, and just use Evernote for everything. Thanks, Jason
  9. It would be great if anything you type into a note while recording audio had a visible time stamp, e.g. 10:19 next to it. Clicking the number would then navigate to the place in the audio recording. Of course there is at least one app that does this, but it would be ideal to have this functionality inside Evernote. Thanks.
  10. I do not see a microphone anywhere to record with. I would very much appreciate any help finding one. Thanks!
  11. I do not use this feture at all but I had a use for it today and I see that there is no loger a microphone or snapshot icon in my formatting bar for a note any more. How do I get them back. Many thanks, Houston
  12. Hi, Are offline recorded notes (voice notes) for the "Plus" plan stored on the iPhone? Or how are these served offline? If on the iphone - won't it take up a lot of storage? Thanks
  13. Good Morning, I absolutely love taking notes with Evernote in class! Currently how I use it right now, is I typically take a picture of the handouts given in the beginning of class, start recording and than type in the notes as class moves forward. I would love to have the opportunity to mark highlights for important sections during the lecture, without interrupting the overall recording, and easily find that location later. Another feature that would be very helpful would be to put a marking or a link in the middle of the notes that I am typing to the location of the highlight that I make at that time. Right now I am using Cohdoo Highlight app https://cohdoo.com/highlight.php. I know this seems to be a lot to ask, but as a Speech Language Pathology student that uses mainly only Evernote for school purposes, and depends on the recordings from lectures, these features would really change the game for me! Thank you,
  14. Hello! First of all, just want to say I love Evernote and have been using it everyday since I downloaded it on my iPhone. Thank you for developing such a high quality product! I play music professionally, and would REALLY love an option to increase the Audio Recording Quality. Like a "Default", "Better", "Best" setting. That way, it would be much more convenient to keep my work in one place, rather than recording and importing from another app. Convenience is the main reason I use Evernote- I'd be willing to upgrade to Premium for this feature! Thanks for listening!
  15. Hi Everyone, I am having a lot of troubles trying to hear some of my recordings I have for my class lectures. I have in total 11 lectures of recording, the first 5 recordings I was able to listen to them. After that, I tried listening to the rest of my lectures I recorded and I cannot hear a single audio from anyone of them! I used my laptop (Windows) to record them, and the audio files are in wav, format. Does anyone have solutions? I really need the rest of the audio files asap! Thanks!
  16. I'm using Mac version 5.5 and have noticed that recordings are no longer showing up in my notes. I just recorded an interview and, fearing that the audio file was lost, went spelunking through my computer's library. Eventually I found the file (along with a few others I thought were gone for good) in Library/Application Support/Evernote/accounts/Evernote/[username]/pending-audio. What gives? Anyone know why audio recordings are getting buried?
  17. In previous versions of Evernote for Android was possible to turn off the screen or switch to other applications when a new audio note had begun, but this is impossible in the new version and is a problem because it forces the screen wil keep on and the note in the foreground with the consequent drain on the battery and the inability to access other phone functions without finishing the audio recording. I wonder if this will be fixed in future versions as it is a much needed feature for me.
  18. i visited other posts on this topic, and there were many solutions - none of which worked for me. however, after much frustration, my files were found in the trash. if you're having this problem, try this!!!!!!!
  19. The voice recording stops when I turn off the screen. I have an Xperia T Android 4.1.2 Gracias
  20. When I'm making an audio recording/note how do I pause the recording?
  21. I believe a microphone icon implies recording, so there should be no confirmation. When I click on the mic, the recording bar should pop down, and the recording should start AUTOMATICALLY. There are many times that I have opened the recording bar, but have forgotten to hit "record".
  22. I use Evernote to take class notes, and I would like to record audio for lectures. However, I also keep my reading notes, class handouts, etc., in Evernote, and the recording stops whenever I need to reference those notes, even if I open the note with the recording in a new window. In the meantime, I'm recording notes in a separate program and adding them to Evernote. But it'd be really cool if either (a) Evernote could keep recordings going in background notes or ( the recording function hung out in the left sidebar, separate from notes altogether, and either created a new note or let me choose which note to add the file to when it was done.
  23. I used my Android phone to record Audio and was unable to play it on the web client under Firefox or Internet Explorer under Windows 8. I then attempted to add a Dictation to a Note and that would also not play. I then fired up the Desktop Client and was able to play the Audio recording but not the Dictation. Looking for ideas...
  24. Hi! I have really been enjoying the evernote recording feature lately, and was wondering if anyone had any experience connecting a better mic than the built-in one to a smartphone or ipad. I would love to bring my phone and a mic to a jam session or music lesson to make a recording and then integrate it with my evernote ecosystem, but the sound quality on the mics apple and other companies build into their stuff is sorely lacking. Is there a product like a bluetooth microphone that could quick-and-easy boost my audio recording quality? I tried google and amazon, but all the results I got were headsets. Thanks!
  25. If you are making a note and using the voice recorder if you touch the power off button on the tablets the screen can sleep to save power. When this happens the tablet is still alive and apps are still working however the recorder is programmed to turn off on the tablet version. The recorder should be programmed to stay on till you turn it off. It also would be good to have it stay on while navigating to other apps. It turns off if you go to the browser to research or go to another app to (multitask). The phone version allows you to hit the power button to turn the screen off while still recording so you can take notes when needed but still record and save screen power. I hope this makes sense. Can you build in a menu option to allow multitasking or leave evernote recorder running while using other apps. This is handy when taking notes and a friend sends you a text. If you answer the text or email you the recorder stops. Thx, (PS I am using the new 4.0 ICS on Galaxy Tab Note 10.1.)
