  1. Hi... Tried EN many moons ago, then went with OneNote but EN's cloud and accessible anywhere features are bringing me back...Enough kudos... Is there a way to mark a note as "read-only" so I cannot accidentally erase or modify it? Thanks. Alex
  2. Requesting the option to flag notes as read only My workaround is to convert the note to pdf edited; There’s also a contentClass field that I can update using a script on my Mac
  3. Hi, I would like to make/mark part of note as READ-ONLY word or sentences. Belowe is sample note template. I would like to create some kind of protection from accidental remove of some crucial note part. So any words in attached image I would like to make read-only. Is it possible?
  4. I recently noted that my new business card entries are Read Only (Read-Only). These are notes created by taking a photo of a business card with my phone. Because they are Read Only, I am no longer able to correct errors in the OCR and add notes as I did previously. This seems to be a default setting which I did not choose. Is there any way to turn off the Read Only condition? Alternatively, can I create business card entries that aren't set as Read Only? By the way, I've tested this using both an iPhone and an Android phone to create the business card note. The result was the same in both cases.
  5. I installed Evernote onto my iPad a while back. In order to prevent even the remote possibility of weird syncing changes, I only use the iPad as a note viewer. I never add/modify/delete from the iPad. To that effect, I think there should be a checkbox in the options of Evernote (Android/iOS/Windows/etc) that says, "View-only Mode". When this is turned on, notes are only downloaded from the Evernote servers, and no changes can be made from that installation without first unchecking "View-only Mode". (eg textboxes cannot be edited, no notes CRUD, tags, dates, everything). This would give people who simultaneously use Evernote on a wide variety of devices (phone, tablet, windows machine, and mac machine in my case) some peace of mind. Thanks,
  6. Greetings. After upgrading to Evernote for Windows 5.5.2.4187, I receive a popup saying "Read-only access" and "You cannot edit this note because it is in a read-only shared notebook" every time I select a notebook, and sometimes when I open notes. (PS: I never use the note panel, I open notes as separate windows) I do not have any joined notebooks in my account currently, only my own personal notebooks. No business notebooks either. The message is therefore erroneous, and this looks like a bug. It doesn't stop me from doing what I need to do, but it is indeed annoying. Do others see the same thing? I haven't tried deleting the local cache and rebuilding the local database files yet, but I might consider that if it's a rare symptom.
