  1. I've seen quite a few requests for thumbnail views of images, and it hadn't occurred to me until now that Evernote will do this in one quite useful way... I just took a series of pictures of a user guide, and was about to add all the images to a PDF file so they would get OCR'd and could be read and searched through in case of need. Being incredibly lazy (my best feature) I didn't want to move all the pictures (there are 15) to my desktop to merge them, OCR and re-save them. So I wondered what would happen if I used the desktop option to shrink the pictures so I could see all of them at once. Then (enquiring mind here) I wondered how small I could get these pictures. The result is shown below. If I click on any of these pictures I get a readable version in 'gallery' mode, and since they're all in the same note, I can then scroll back and forth through the whole series as larger images to read the manual normally. It's not rocket science (SpaceX seem to have that covered these days! Good launch!!) but I though you might be interested.
  2. Please let us select the thumbnail picture shown in the note previews. I read the forum and I saw there is an annoying work around, but that's why I'm requesting this feature for real. Something like: • right click the image and select "Use this as Preview image" (I believe this should be the easiest to implement) • right click the note preview and select "Pick a thumbnail" that leads to a small selection of the images available inside that note • right click the image and set a priority that overrides the current priority These are just ideas, but any of those would be amazing so we have decent control over the thumbnail pic!
  3. Does anyone know how to select the picture that shows up in the note summary for a note that has several pictures? At first I thought it was the most recent picture included, the first picture, or the last picture in the note - one of these seemed to work before but didn't today. I've looked for any option that makes a picture the "primary" picture (or something similar) - but no luck with that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Can we PLEASE finally have an opportunity to decide which attached photo Evernote shows in its Snippet view? Snippets are supposed to aid the user in quickly finding the note he wants; they shouldn't be designed to allow Evernote to override what the user thinks is the best representation for its snippet. Evernote doesn't need snippets to find things, people do.
  5. I have many photos that are included in evernote. Very often , I want to see a detail of the picture, but if I click on the picture, I enter into this #@!!!%% presentation mode. The picture is displayed in full screen, but it is not possible to enlarge further, which is what should be possible. It should not be difficult to have a way to enlarge the pictures without going to this #@!!!%% presentation mode. Thanks
  6. Hi It would be nice to be able to change the size of the picture in the notes. And also being able to move the picture to the side or up in the corner somewhere
  7. I am having problems with my Evernote app closing every time I want to take a picture into a note. I have to reopen the app and try again, sometimes on the 2nd or 3rd try the picture will actually stay in the note after the app crash but most of the time it won't. I have tried removing app, restarting phone and reinstalling. It did it with IOS 6; then I upgraded to IOS 7 - same issue. Currently am running 7.0.4 and have this issue. I have an Iphone 16gb 4S. I have installed every update possible for the evernote app and continues to do this (running Evernote 7.3.0.307130) I have Evernote Premium if that makes a difference. This has been going on for 6 months; I'm fed up. Love the app, but this needs to be fixed. Help!
  8. Hello, I'm facing an issue with the business card feature of Evernote. I just scanned a business card and the note created ended up taking more than 5Mb of space. This business card has normal physical dimensions but the background is dark/black with many different shades, so it might be the reason why the size became so big. I have scanned other dark business cards with darker background (but more uniform shades/monochrome) and it reaches barely 1Mb, which is still decent. I have changed the image resolution option to small on Evernote, but it doesn't seem to affect the business card feature of the app. How to make these business cards scans smaller ? Note: I'm using Evernote 8.2.2.353110 on iPhone 7 with iOs 10.3.2
  9. yesterday I upload the business card in evernote. But when I use evernote today I found that my business card picture was gone. Only picture why???
  10. Evernote, please bring back the ability to change the picture size when taking photos. Syncing huge images takes so long that I've had to downgrade to Evernote 7.7.1.
  11. I cannot see the difference between using the Scannable App to import documents into Evernote versus simply creating a note in Evernote, taking a picture, and importing it into directly into the program. Can you please explain the advantages of using the Scannable App? thank you
  12. Last update on android Evernote app has some issues i detected : When taking pictures it places it not in the correct place sometimes : i normally add coments first to pick the photo then picks one or more photos to be added after the coments...then i add new coments and pick new photos , sometimes these new pictures are not added after the last comments but after the last picture on first comments block wich is a hole mess for me. Using Samsung Galaxy model : SM-G130HN with Android 4.4.2 Hope you fix this soon. Best wishes
  13. I have some pictures in my camera roll. Is there a way to get them into a note in Evernote? Is it possible to add more than 1 picture to a note? Would it be a "copy" or a "move"? OT, how do questions get marked "Answered"--am I supposed to do that, and if so, how?
  14. Hey guys So with the latest evernote update, when I select a picture from a PDF file and paste it in evernote it's recognised as a pdf file rather than a simple picture. Before this, I would just select the picture from the PDF and paste it in evernote and its recognised as a photo not pdf. How can I fix this. Cheers!
  15. It would be really nice to be able to use a thumbnail image within a note. I'd like the ability to choose to see or hide pictures in a note. When editing notes with large images, the navigation is tedious, especially on a phone or small tablet. It would be great if one could toggle to see just a thumbnail place holder or the actual image. It would also be good if one could select to view and/or annotate an image that is currently shown as a thumbnail. Would be nice to have this option on all platforms, not just Windows. Not sure if this has been requested before but I was unable to find anything on this topic when I did a search. Thanks, t
  16. OK... I've sort have seen this behavior on and off over time, but think I have nailed down enough details to pass them along and hope someone has a solution or there is enough detail for someone to work with. I still can't reproduce it on demand, but the "pattern" has finally emergerd. Android Widget (if you want details, Note 2, Sprint, unmodded, unrooted). Take a picture note when there is little to no signal. Then "save it" (the note will have that little pending synch flag in the corner). Come back a day later or so, when you remember something is supposed to be there. No note. The pic is in the local evernote folder in the phone gallery (which I occasionally empty since everything is supposed to be in sync), but there is no trace of the note. Glad I have got the pic, but...
  17. How does one Insert an Existing photo in a note?
  18. I always copy and paste picture from browser , like ie9 and firefox23. but i found some website cannot do it: like this. http://blog.jobbole.com/51919/
  19. I'm having trouble figuring out how to clip an image or diagram from a powerpoint slide or PDF. I don't see any option to web clip in the powerpoint and the only option I can seem to find for PDFs ends up sending the entire PDF to evernote instead of just one image or diagram I wanted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I have been looking through functions related to pictures and was wondering if there was any way to stop them automatically stretching out to cover my entire screen. I use pictures to supplement notes and the current size of them is making it hard to maintain an overview of the notes. Thanks for any feedback or comments, -Hans
  21. Hello, I am fairly new to Evernote, and love it dearly so far. I have found many useful things in the "Trunk." But, I'm still in search for something, and maybe you can help. I'm looking for something that will take my pictures i put into evernote, and convert them to PDF, so I can select and copy text. Let's say, I take a picture of a homework assignment, and I need to copy a portion of the paper. If I just take a picture, the text becomes searchable, but you can't select it, at least not that I know of. Do you know of anything that can help me in this area? Thanks!
  22. I uploaded two pictures of business cards into Evernote mobile and the program will not read the text as searchable, although I understand this is a feature of the system. Is anyone else having this problem? Any fixes or suggestions? The text in the pictures are very clear.
  23. Anyone looking for a picture editor in Android might want to look at this (courtesy of LifeHacker).. "All the usual tweaks are here: cropping (custom sizes and standard print sizes), adjustments of brightness/contrast/saturation/sharpness, flip or rotate the photo's orientation, red-eye removal, teeth whitening, and blemish removal as well as more advanced effects like auto-enhance, night-enhance, and the ability to draw or add text to the image. There are also a few effects packs available such as the Grunge effects and Nostalgia effects packs that add Instamatic-like photo tweaks." I have no connection with the app..
  24. Hi all, I've been having problems getting Evernote to convert a picture of a note to handwriting. Also, this is my first attempt in using this feature. Here's what I did: 1) snapped a picture and emailed it to Evernote using inbox and tag names. 2) waited about 5 to 10 minutes before syncing Now, here's what's wrong: 3) Evernote syncs and downloads the picture, instead of converting it. Was there any step I missed? I've tried sending to Evernote and synching but the same happens.
  25. Hi, Whenever I import (either through the web interface or via the Windows client) a digital photograph into a note Evernote does not display the picture in its correct size. I.e. I upload a photo (*.png, *.jpg) that is, for instance, 300 by 400 pixel big, the picture will cover the entire area of the note. The actual size of the picture is being ignored. So, how do I import/attach pictures in a way that ensures that EN displays them in their actual physical size? Obviously EN's GUI does not allow for the resizing of pictures once they are in a note. I tried to fiddle with the HTML code but that didn't work either. Thanks and best rergards. Heinrich
