  1. I'm running Evernote 6.13.12 (Beta 3), but this behavior also occurred in the latest non-beta release. Windows 10 Version 1803 Build 17134.81 ********************** After copying an image from Snagit 2018 to the clipboard, I attempted to paste the image into a note. Regardless of whether I use the shortcut key or the Edit menu paste options, the image does not appear. The cursor moves to the right the width of the image, but then just stays there. The image is not visible. This problem is new, and may be related to Windows 10 Version 1803 because the problem did not exist prior to that. Also, the default hot key for paste (Ctrl-Alt-V) does not paste, but causes a new blank note to be created. If I reassign Ctrl-V to the paste operation, I get the same result: a new note gets created instead of a paste operation occurring. If I save the Snagit image to disk, then drag-drop it to Evernote, that works. But it's annoying that clipboard operations are broken. <rant>I am so annoyed at common things that break whenever an update occurs that I'm thinking of giving up on Evernote altogether.</rant>
  2. I find very often that lots of new notes in a notebook will use the same tags as the first note in the notebook... It would be so fast and easy to be able to copy the tags from the first note and paste (or share) the tags to the new notes as they are created and added to the folder. Please add this feature!
  3. Copy seems fine, but paste won't work. Neither Command + V nor selecting paste from the menu works. I'm on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and Evernote 7.1.
  4. I was feeling frustrated by EN's lack of support for colors for text in the app, so after checking around the forums for a bit, I realized I could just make my own note with colored text and share it as a way for anyone who wants to get some colored text into their notes to reap the rewards of my small effort. I realize it's not perfect yet, I just threw it together real quick. But theoretically one can go to my note on my my postach.io blog and copy some colored letters/numbers and use them on any platform. Cheers everyone.
  5. When copying/pasting text from another location into a note, there should be an easy way to erase or clear the formatting that travels with it (ie - size, font, bold, etc.) This is a feature on many word processing applications, and on google docs. Thanks!
  6. Evernote Team, why is the formatting of my note information so amazingly terrible whenever I copy it into another application; like Outlook or Word? Isn't this considered a use case for your product? I am a huge fan of Evernote in general. I want to use it even more than I do, but this is a HUGE problem, Along with how often the formatting within a noted gets messed up when editing. These keep Evernote from being my go to tool for collecting and sharing information. They are the primary reasons I haven't upgrade to a premium tier - if I can't use the information in my notes seamlessly across my workflow the hassle of cleaning up the formatting outweighs the benefit of trusting Evernote. I know there are substantial technical challenges to handling formatting cleanly across multiple platforms. But isn't this considered core functionality? It should be.
  7. Hi All, I'm using Evernote on a Mac with OS Sierra. Until a while ago, when I copied a text from somewhere else to the Evernote, it used to paste it with the exact same color and font as in the source. But now it does not preserve the format (color and font) of the text copied anymore. Even when I use the option "Paste and Match Style" (command +Shift + V). for example I copy this text but when I paste it into Evernote, I get this format: Does anyone know how I can fix it? Thanks

    Paste Problems

Just updated to (306921) Public (CE Build ce-1.39.4387) on Windows 8. I very much like that the blank space at the beginning of lines is removed again. That is nice. It no longer wastes screen real estate. That is very good. But I have two issues with Paste. This is what I do and what happens: In Firefox I copy text, generally the title of an article. Go to Evernote, hit <tab> to insert some spaces, the <ctrl-shift-v> to paste without formatting. Problem 1: the text is pasted in without formatting, but it adds 2 extra lines. Should add either 0 or at most 1. Insert point in at the end of the inserted block. From Firefox, copy the URL of the page I was on. Go to Evernote, move insert point (using cursor keys) to the start of the line after the text that was just inserted. Hit <tab> twice to insert more space than previously. Problem 2: Variable results Sometimes it works correct and inserts the text right there Problem variation 2a: It looks like nothing happens. The insert point is still after the spaces. Nothing is inserted at all. Problem variation 2b: It looks like nothing happens. The insert point is still after the spaces. Scrolling to the bottom of the Note shows that the URL was inserted at the very end of the page. Problem variation 2c: The Note scrolls to the bottom. There is no new URL at the bottom. When I scroll back to the place I wanted to paste there is no URL there either. These are significant problems. Most disturbing is that the results are inconsistent. I hope someone can help me figure this out. I love Evernote, but this building my frustration level. Thank you. Edit: Add the following: With continued use I have another variation of the problem. It seems to occur due to search interferring with identifying the point of insert. Added case: In Evernote, so full Notebook search, then search in specific note, click in note, paste, the resulting pasted text winds up at bottom of page and not where it was intended to be placed.
  9. I use the evernote for studying and there are many times when I copy text into the program. Because many texts come in the PDF format, it would be really good if we had a function that lets us remove all those annoying line breaks that come when we copy these kinds of text. Is it possible for us to have a function like that? It would be something like this site.
  10. I would really love to be able to go into the options panel and set the default paste to exclude all formatting. Evernote is a good lightweight word processor, but I strongly prefer all of my notes to be uniform in style. I find it makes it a lot easier to navigate my notes across all platforms. Really, the only formatting stuff I use is occasionally bold or italics. Any time I paste stuff from another program it's a pain having to fix the formatting so I can navigate around it easily. As far as I can tell, there's currently no way to accomplish this.
  11. Copy and pasting text from Evernote occasionally, includes the html for spaces within the text. See attached. This never used to happen in previous versions. Evernote: Version 6.13.1 MacOS Sierra 10.12.6
  12. Dear Evernote team, I have a very frustrating problem with copy/paste. Whenever I paste text in the Evernote app (even if it's copied from the same note) it pastes as a smaller font. What is more, I cannot change the font to the proper size! This is extremely frustrating, as it sends the formatting wild. Attached is a screenshot, notice that the selected text should be the same size as the text underneath. The same thing happens when pasting without formatting (CTRL+SHIFT+V).
  13. I use Evernote to take all my business meeting notes. I need to email these notes to folks and emailing a link isn't acceptable in my business. So, I try to either (1) C&P the note directly into Outlook or (2) Export Note to HTML and then C&P that into Outlook. In both cases, I run into a terribly annoying situation - when pasted into Outlook I get an extra bullet per indent level. Here is what it looks like in Evernote: START TESTTESTTEST 2TEST 2TEST END Here is what it looks like when pasted (or exported and pasted): START TESTTEST TEST 2TEST 2TEST END By the way, the export to HTML looks fine. It's when I paste into Outlook. I have dealt with this for years. It's the reason I started using ONENOTE for a long time. I recently came back to Evernote and it still has the same problem. This does not happen when I C&P from Word, ONENOTE, WEBPAGES, so I don't think it's an Outlook issue. Fixing this would literally make this product perfect for me. It it remains broken I might have to find another solution as almost every note I write I email. HELP!!!!
  14. Dear Evernote team, I've noticed that pasting text to evernote transforms original indentation. This is the original text with indents This is the same text pasted to evernote It looks like Evernote transforms original indentation and reduces number spaces down to 2. I'm using Ubuntu 16.04LTS with Chromium (Version 55.0.2883.87 Built on Ubuntu , running on Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit)). Please, have a look at this issue. Yours faithfully, Constantine Bonebryukh
  15. What the heck happened to the "Paste as Plain Text" command that used to be available?! I think there must've been a recent update that replaced it with "Paste and Match Style" which, in my experience so far, means "strip out all the line breaks and turn your clipboard into a giant blob of text." This used to be one of my most frequently used commands ... Copy a selection of text from an email, a web page, a PDF, whatever ... if you just paste it (CTRL+V) into the Note, you're going to get all the formatting, which will usually make a mess of the text. But if you use Paste as Plain Text (CTRL+SHIFT+V) you'd get JUST the characters, including line breaks and bullets, and then you could clean it up with formatting or indents if needed. Now that it's "match style" it's stripping out everything except the text, which includes the line breaks, making it virtually impossible to capture a lengthy section of email or web content, without spending ages going back in to insert line and paragraph breaks. If this was an "enhancement" I'd say FAIL! Also, it looks like they've changed the way tables work, because all of my older notes that had tables in them, now when I try to add a column or edit anything in the table, the table blows apart! Augh. REVERT, REVERT!!

REQUEST | Paste as Plain Text

Dear Evernote, I use evernote on multiple platforms and would really appreciate a feature that allows me to paste in plain text sans formatting, etc but "KEEP" the Carriage Returns. Is there a way to do this? I current : Copy from Source Paste into Notepad Copy from Notepad Paste into Evernote Add back in Carriage Returns Regards, Jason
  17. I downloaded the desktop update and now "paste and match style" doesn't work. Bummer b/c formats are different if I'm copying from Word or something (it doesn't match natively written text). Any body else having this issue?
  18. I'm a relatively new Evernote user, and I hadn't run into any problems until yesterday. Upon upgrading to the latest version of Evernote, I realized that the Mac app is not letting me copy and paste from Microsoft Office (Word or PowerPoint). I can copy and paste from other text editors, but when I try to copy and paste from Word or PowerPoint into any Evernote note (new or old), nothing happens. I have tried copying both using the shortcut and by going to Edit > Paste and Edit > Paste and Match Style. I have also tried restarting my system, but nothing seems to help. Any help would be much appreciated.
  19. Please Make Ctrl + Shift + V work the way it used to!! I used to copy tons of data from tables and all over with formatting and tables, etc. I use that Key Combo to paste with all formatting _stripped_! Please make it work the way it used to in ~6.4 Thank You a Bajillion times Bajillion! - Evernote User
  20. HI! I have been using evernote for a while to just collect recipes. Today, I have decided to use it to catalog some sewing patterns...and I wish to make a "template". After reading many things here, templates are not really something that is available. I have seen however many OLDER comments about copying and pasting notes. What does seem possible is creating a note that lives in a notebook that is called "template" and then copied when needed to the appropriate notebook for editing. I have Win 8 and an ipad. I have been trying to copy a simple note with just a few lines, and then pasteing in into the "coats and dresses" notebook so I can add a photo and edit it with my ipad. For the life of me, I can't do this. I right click on the note, and the ONLY option I get to copy is to "copy to clipboard". When I do so, and go into the "coats and dresses" notebook to then *paste* it, I right click and there is no option. The odd thing is I can click, drag, and drop it directly from the "template" notebook into the "coats and dresses" notebook. But the problem is, the note dissapears from the "template" notebook. Is this now something that is only a premium feature now? Am I missing something?
  21. Hi Guys, I know there is a feature in the desktop client to copy note to another notebook but I would like an option to copy note within the same notebook (maybe called duplicate note). The reason for this is that despite the content being different, it would be quicker to duplicate a previous note (in order to get the tags and information filled in) and then simply delete the content and replace it. It occurs to me this could become an enhancement... you could depreciate the move to notebook option and replace it with a duplicate option. When you click on duplicate it could pop up a window saying which notebook do you want to copy it to (with the default being the current notebook). This would offer greater functionality without affecting the original method. UI would be surprised if this has not already been considdered but I would like to know why you have decided against it if so. Thanks & regards, John
  22. I am going through a language study for which I have created a separate page for each chapter. At the end of each lesson there is a list of new words to be leanrt which I include in a two-column list: Language-English. I created a separate page which I called Vocabulary in which I intended to include the vocabulary table of each chapter thereby making a long vocab. list all on one page. So far I have been unable to copy the vocab. table from chap.1 and paste it into the Vocabulary page. Can someone please tell me how to do it? Thanks in advance.

    Unable to paste JSON text

I am unable to paste JSON text into evernote for mac. Was anything changed? - vineet
  24. When I cut and paste from a news article, I use the "Paste and Match Style" option - but as of the last release or two - that option still brings over hyperlinks. It didn't used to. Need an option for pasting without hyperlinks, please!
  25. I have added the same external website link into a note in 2 ways: 1. via pasting directly from copied website URL in a browser; and 2. via Format | Link | Add (command K) Both links work perfectly from Evernote (Evernote Links.tiff) Selecting all the content (both lines) and pasting, all content with both links pates OK into Scrivener, Keynote, wordpress... But, when I paste into a text document, or add notes in a calendar, for example, only link 1 pastes as a hyper link. Link 2 merely pastes the links visible description as text. (Pasted links.tiff) Can this be fixed, or is there a workaround?
