  1. Is it possible to lose a Note by mis typing the pass phrase? I've got a Note encrypted with a lot of numbers, addresses and so forth. Usually when I open it I am prompted to enter a passphrase with a reminder hint. Due to clumsiness I mistyped the passphrase. It seems to have overwritten the Note with the mistyped characters. Is it possible to get the original Note restored? What is the procedure for reverting to a Note of say two days ago?
  2. How can I change the passphrase to gain access to encrypted text? Can I do more than 1 note at a time
  3. I had the issue where I couldn't open an encrypted note on the Mac App (Version 6.10) and on the web, but only in the iPhone app. I upgraded to 6.11 Beta for Mac and it solved the issue but I still cannot decrypt the note on the web. I have 2 other encrypted notes and I can decrypt them on all devices, it only affects 1 note. Thanks for any support on this!
  4. For those having problems changing the Password on encrypted text (Windows 4.6.7.8) uncript any text you want to Encrypt with a new passwordHighlight and drag over with mouse the text you want to EncryptHit keys Ctrl + Shift + X* * * If it automatically encrypts it to the old saved password that means you have checked the box "Remember passphrase until I quit Evernote" * * * You will need to close the Evernote program and then restart it -- but (for me) if you have Evernote syncing in the background -- You will need to close Evernote in the Task Bar as well (lower right for windows 7) before you restart the Evernote program -- this way the program is fully closed first. As before -- Open the program -> go to the note you want to encript -> highlight text -> Ctrl + Shift + XType in a NEW password prassphase you wantNew window comes up -- hit Create a new Passphrase (disregard the statement "not a good idea")Why "not a good idea"? Evernote is reminding you that if you fail to give yourself a hint of the new password phrase and you forget the password, there is no way to retreave this encrypted textSo give yourself a decent enough hint of your new PasswordIf you check the box "Remember passphrase until I quit Evernote" this will become your new default password -- I think (??) for any future encrypted text notes. This does NOT change your other encripted notes Now create a new note in your Evernote account and put this in it -- if you are like me this is the 3rd time I have tried to learn how to change passwords as I keep forgetting I need to log out first is NEVER explained anywhere -- that I could find.
  5. Hi When I want to encrypt a new section in a note Evernote always asks me for an "encryption passphrase" that I've used at the very beginning of my Evernote life. I have to then enter a wrong password (i.e. anything) and then it asks me if I want to use a new Encryption passphrase? I have the option to "Try the passphrase again" or "Use a new passphrase (NOT RECOMMENDED)". With that second option I can then choose my new passphrase that i always use nowadays. My question: Why does EN always ask for this old passphrase and how can I make it stop? Thx :DrSnap
