  1. I recently reset my password in Evernote on my computer and now need to reset my passcode on my mobile device. Unfortunately, I do not remember my old passcode. How can I either retrieve the old passcode or reset it to a new one?
  2. Evernote security flaw... iTunes/Apple ID request flaw allows app passcode to be bypassed, meaning the Evernote passcode feature is currently not working to secure the app. Video - http://bit.ly/epinios0203 (1.5MB 51seconds) When sleeping an iOS device after Apple ID request, upon wake & cancel, the App's passcode is bypassed (all notes visible).
  3. Hi- I've got a feature request - can we please have a passcode lock for the Evernote desktop client, like the one on the iOS app? I feel safe using Evernote on my iPhone, since I can protect it with a passcode. But if anyone ever takes my laptop or uses my desktop, they'd have access to all of my notes Thoughts? Thanks! -Ian
  4. Is there a way to put a passcode on a note or a notebook?
  5. Hello, I would love to keep my passcode option to "on" to access evernote from my iphone just in case I lose my phone. I wouldn't want anybody to be able to find my phone and be able to look at all my files!!! I subscribe to premium and set the passcode to "on". It will work for a while and then it randomly turns itself to "off" and you can pick up my phone and open Evernote right up. Very scary and annoying. I have sent evernote an email and never got a reply. Does anybody have any hints or tips? Or, evernote, can you PLEASE fix this? Thanks, J
  6. i am a premium member and love Evernote and penultimate on my mac, ipad and iPhone. However, once Evernote Touch has been installed on a windows 8 dashboard on a PC, there is no way to sign out or pass-code protect the info. Deleting Evernote Touch is the only shield. The PC is a work device and I.T has remote access at times as do others. Evernote has both business and personal info that i do not want staff to have access to. Evernote was going to be my business method of sharing and organizing work life as well but unfortunately i will be deleting Evernote Touch until it has a sign out feature or pass-code feature as the OS and ios have, and looking towards the competition. - imploring that Evernote Touch developers address the importance of a pass-code or sign out feature for its windows 8 users. sincerely and hopeful dv
  7. Hello, Ever since upgrading to iOS 7 and the latest version of Evernote on my iPad mini, there is a 1-2 second delay when I open Evernote during which the contents of my Evernote screen are exposed. Eventually, the passcode screen does appear and require I input the code, but during that delay, information is left viewable and exposed to whomever may have opened the app. Is this something others are experiencing? Fix coming? T.J.
  8. First, I do love the new look and feel. I was never a fan of the stacked tabs (or whatever you might call them) in the previous version; they felt too contrived. When I first launched the new Evernote app and was prompted for my passcode, I realized I had wanted to do something else first, so I hit the home button without entering my passcode. Then, indecisive me decided that no, it could wait, so I fired up Evernote again. I was also curious to see the new iOS7 lock screen-like passcode interface in Evernote. But I was not prompted for my passcode! I have the passcode set to be required after 5 minutes. If changed to "Immediately," this doesn't seem to occur. However, I have reproduced the problem with both the "After 1 minute" and "After 5 minutes" options. To reproduce: with passcode enabled and "After 1 minute" selected, if I leave Evernote, wait one minute, then launch Evernote, I am prompted for the passcode. If I hit the Home button on the phone without entering my passcode, and then launch Evernote again, I am on the new "home" screen in Evernote, with Shortcuts, Notes, Notebooks, etc... without being prompted for my passcode. This seems like a pretty major problem, making whatever real-world protection the passcode offers fairly useless. Otherwise, I really do like the new look and usability better than the last.
  9. I have update my iPhone4S to iOS7 and also updated my evernote together with it(=iOS7 ver.) and have noticed following issue with Passcode/Password lock function. In the previous Evernote ver.(iOS6), whenever I jump out of evernote, I was asked to input my passcode. My setting for the passcode is immediately. Security was perfect. But with the new version of evernote(iOS7), following wiil occur. Start up the evernote, input the passcode and login. Hit home button and get back to iOS home screen with lots of other apps, and tap the home button twice. With new iOS7, it has a new function which I could view the app screens running on the backend, and there I could also view my evernote home screen. Meaning I could view and read whatever in there. Though my passocde setting is "Immediately", meaning MAXIMUM security, it is odd that I could see the screen. It should not happen. By the way, after tapping the evernote screen after tapping home screen twice, screen pops up and does request to input my password, but still it pops up with the last screen and can read and view at least for 0.5 second what's in there. Also, After logged in to evernote, hit home button and get back to iOS7 home screen, and hit the evernote icon, it shows the evernote home screen for approx. 0.3 sec and asks for passcode. I hope this is not something just happening to me. Thanks. P.S. This also happens with my iPad mini as well.
  10. I have been using Evernote on my iPhone and encountered a problem with the passcode function. The passcode function worked pretty well till recently, sometimes when i input the correct passcode, the system just won't respond. It doesn't say that the passcode is wrong. It simply leaves the four-digit space empty, indicating that i should input the passcode again. I use the old-fashioned way to deal with such a problem so far: by turning off my phone and turning it on again. Normally this would do the charm to solve the problem but it is bothering me. WHY did it happen? How to prevent it from happening again? The problem started to occur since recently when I tried to submit a ticket concerning another bug through my Evernote App on iphone (an endeavor which is failed, another bug i might need to report and share later when i have time). I am not sure whether it is just a coincidence or not. I am a university teacher and i do believe that Evernote has the potential to become a helpful personal/group knowledge management system or even an external brain if you will. But I will restrain myself from recommending Evernote to my students and colleagues until I can be more sure that our data on Evernote is safe and (relatively) free of bugs like this. Wish whoever read this message has a great day and hope the Evernote team can respond to this. Thanks!
  11. What's the likelihood of Evernote Desktop having a Simple Passcode feature? If you want us to put everything on Evernote, this feature is the least you can do. Yes, it does not add much security since someone can copy over the database, but it's main purpose it to keep prying eyes away, say when lending your PC to a friend to send a quick email. If they "accidentally" opened Evernote, at least all they can see is blank items (passcode protected).
  12. The video tutorial for the Passcode settings shows a delay lock setting. Why is this not on Android? It would be nice to keep it unlocked when jumping in and out of the app over the course of a few minutes.
