  1. I have been using the Palm for just about everything for several years. Have too many contacts & memo entries. Couldn't find a way to move them to EverNote without installing a 3rd party software. I am just a lil nervous about installing a random software cuz of risk of malwares. So, I created my own import utility in Microsoft Excel VBA. It is open source, so there is no risk of malicious code. The application has some rough edges, but I have managed to import my zillion Palm contacts & memos into Evernote. If anyone is in a similar situation, pls let me know. I shall also include a document listing the steps to take to perform the import into Evernote. My email is sajjanj@outlook.com . Pls mention "Evernote Import Utility" in the subject of your email.
  2. The following seems to happen fairly consistently for me using Evernote on the Pre: [*:2txp5wsw] Create a new note [*:2txp5wsw] Do some editing on the new note [*:2txp5wsw] Let the screen turn off due to inactivity [*:2txp5wsw] Repeat previous two steps throughout course of a meeting [*:2txp5wsw] Save note [*:2txp5wsw] Evernote puts note into Pending Uploads and note just gets stuck there not syncing From here, the behavior and how to fix it seems to be a crapshoot, but consists of: [*:2txp5wsw] The note I created stays in Pending Uploads for a while and will sometimes sync out of the blue some time much later . [*:2txp5wsw] Other notes no longer load correctly (they just come up to a blank screen). This may just affect notes that were edited when the screen was turning on/off. Notes opened to a blank screen will often sync changes up to EN as well (e.g. I have a note edited on Pre while in the default notebook that was long ago moved to another notebook. Trying to edit the note on the Pre caused the note to move back to the default notebook). [*:2txp5wsw] Refreshing caches, phone reboots, restarting EN don't fix the problem. [*:2txp5wsw] The only way I can consistently fix the issue is to log out and log back in to EN on the Pre. Then EN works well until the screen powers off while editing again and the whole problem starts again. Hopefully this can be fixed. Thanks for the app! - Mark
  3. I am trying to get Evernote to work again on my Palm Pixi. When I first downloaded the app, it worked great for a while. Then suddenly one day, a few weeks ago, it would no longer connect to Evernote when I tried to load the app. I've deleted the app and reinstalled it and it still won't work. It's not a matter of the cell phone service as my Samsung Moment (both are Sprint devices) will connect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jason
  4. Evernote does not run reliably on my Palm Pre (WebOS 1.4). I often try to open a note and get what appears to be a blank note. When I refresh it I get the error "an error occurred while loading note". I have a strong wi-fi connection so connectivity is not the issue. Is there a cure for this?
  5. After using Evernote successfully in Firefox/Linux and on my Android tablet, I was not able to log in from my Palm Pixi Plus, whether in the app or in the Browser. It kept telling me my login was wrong (btw, a mobile website might be a good idea, too). I had to change my password to not include a backslash. Apparently, this symbol was transferred from WebOS in a different manner than from the other platforms. I wonder what's behind that, technically.
  6. I had a data loss issue that I'd attributed to a glitch in Evernote's Pre platform. Turns out that it was most likely my Mac Powerbook that was causing the problems. I discovered that the problematic notes that suffered data loss and wouldn't display the contents/text when opened had an Update date of 1969! I strongly believe that this date came from my Powerbook. This is the date that Mac PB (& others) defaults to when the battery becomes fully discharged and the backup battery is too tired to retain the date/time. The only thing I can figure is that I had worked within a specific note/notes on my Powerbook after recovering from a complete discharge, but prior to Apple Time resetting the date & time (by getting onto a network). This made the Update date earlier than the date at which the note was created. Impossible, and therefore likely something that would corrupt a note. Interestingly, these notes opened fine from my Mac & Windows 7 desktop, but not my Pre. I copied the contents of the corrupted notes, created new notes and pasted the contents into the newly created notes. Then from my Pre, I deleted the corrupt notes. I believe that the data loss came about when I messed with the Pre trying to recover the notes prior to discovering this date issue. I don't know what I did, but I did something that forced all changes to the notes that I'd done from my Mac and my desktop to default back to what the Pre had last synced to. That's all water under the bridge. . All seems to be fine, and I chalk this up to user error & not a glitch in the Pre/EN platform...at least in my case.
  7. from time to time (especially at times i really need to use the notes) when i open up notes on the Palm pre app they simply come up blank, even tho it says im in online mode and sometimes if i edit them (when they blank) when i save they get deleted (although i can log in to desktop and retrive them from trash). and i had the pre side by side my desktop, when they open up blank on the Pre, they open up fine in the desktop PC application nobody every had this problem?

Have to try it tonight, so I cannot say anything with regard to quality etc. Greetings from Munich, EvB.
  9. Do you have activity underway to create a native Evernote app for webOS on tablets? The HP TouchPad ships tomorrow, July 1, 2011. Thanks, Alan
  10. I am trying to write image resource into local system in javascript code using Node.js, the image file is getting saved successfully, but looks like it is corrupted, not able to open it. Client.js: var onSuccess = function(resource, transport) { self.showResourceData(resource); //console.log("Got Resource: "+resource); }; enyo.application.NoteStore.getResourceData(onSuccess,this.showAlertMessage.bind(this, "Failed to get Resource"), inSender.getValue()); showResourceData: function(resource) { //Calls WriteFileAssistant service this.$.writeFile.call({ path: "/media/internal/downloads/logo1.png", content: resource }); } WriteFileAssistant.js: WriteFileAssistant.prototype.run = function(future) { var filePath = this.controller.args.path; var content = this.controller.args.content; var downloadfile = fs.createWriteStream(filePath, {'flags': 'w',encoding: 'binary'}); downloadfile.write(content, encoding='binary', function(err) { future.result = { path: filePath, bytes: content.length, error: err }; }); } Please find attached the HEX images of original and downloaded files. 12. I'm looking for a way to import Palm Desktop/Treo memos into Evernote. I saw instructions for doing each memo manually but I have over 400, need something better. I also have the memos sync'd to Yahoo notepad if there is a way to transfer that way. Hope someone can figure out a way. There is no migration of Palm memos to Pre that anyone has found.
  13. Is there a trick to getting the web clipper bookmarklet working on the touchpad browser? When I click in the bookmark, it tries to download a file rather than bring up the Evernote clipper UI. -- Sent from my HP TouchPad using Communities
  14. i have had a palm device for many many years and have several hundred memo's and tasks, as well as hundreds of contacts and a calendar and several years of old calendars. i would like to move to an iphone4 and need to find a way to get all this data moved over to the iphone from the palm pre+. i have spoken to the verizon and apple people and no one has a suggestion on a neat / simply way to do this. one person suggested i look into evernote as a potential vehicle for doing this, as well as being a neat way to manage notes once i do finally get on to an iphone base. i would appreciate any suggestions you all might have. thanks, bill
  15. Please show us TouchPad users some love with a native WebOS app optimized for the TouchPad! Thanks and keep up the amazing work!
  16. Since upgrading to the latest release all notes show as "not tagged" on the Pre. The tags however are visible when using Evernote for Windows or the Web Version. I currently have Evernote For WebOs 1.4.15 installed. TIA Jeff
  17. Hello - Please take a look at our latest beta release of Evernote for WebOS. With this version, we wanted to take advantage of some of the new features in WebOS 2.0 as well as improve the quality of the application. Improvements include: [*:xq6xymkd]Better performance for large accounts [*:xq6xymkd]Not attachments pane in notes [*:xq6xymkd]Creation of audio notes (WebOS 2.0 only) You can download the latest version at: http://s.evernote.com/webospreview Please give us your feedback!
  18. The previous version was working great. Afew days ago I saw that an update was available in the testing feed. I installed it and my phone locked up. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. I now downloaded the version which has appeared in the regular app catalog and it kills my phone. I am on a Sprint Pre with webOS 1.4.5. My phone is also overclocked. I noticed a few other comments in the Palm app catalog complaining of similar issues.
  19. Hey folks - We've published an update to the Evernote webOS preview that includes some significant performance improvements. Loading large numbers of notes should perform better and in general memory usage should drop on accounts that contain web clips or many images. Give it a try at: http://s.evernote.com/webospreview
  20. Anybody know a way to get an earlier version of Evernote for the Palm Pre (WebOS Version 1.4.5)? I am currently using the 1.3.8 version of Evernote and it is killing my phone each time I launch it. Is there a way to get an earlier version installed, one that actually worked before this 1.3.8 phone killer? Thanks!
  21. where are you all getting this app? There is no EVERNOTE in the Palm Pre app catalog!
  22. So I go to the grocery store, open Evernote, open my shopping list and start shopping. The screen locks as I am picking something out so I unlock the phone and the note is blank. I try to sync and I get "An error occurred while loading the note" because now I am deep in the store and without cell reception. I now need to walk back to the front of the store, find reception so that I can sync the note again and then take care to not let the Pre's screen sleep again. This is a terrible. Cache the note on the phone until I close the note. If the app on the Pre ever wants to connect to the cloud and check to see if there is a new version of the note I have open, that is fine, but if it fails, don't show me an error and an empty note. Show me the cached note!
  23. Hello. I use Evernote on a daily basis with great pleasure. It's one of my favorite applications on my Palm Pre +. Would it be possible at a forthcoming update to allow sending notes via email? I sometimes send notes to my staff and I must now wait to be in front of my computer to do ... Some colleagues who have an iPhone can do it directly from their phone. Is this planned for WebOS? Thank you
  24. I have had a chance to try evernote on my palm pre and I found that it works but I have some suggestions for improvement. I upgraded to the Pre from a 755p, before that I had a Palm 650. Here are the things that I really miss from my 755p and 650. These items helped me get through the day and I would like to see EverNote help me achieve this: [*:3vjptmt1]The ability to update a note within 30 seconds...(very important feature if I'm actually going to use this product). This is from unlocking to the phone to saving the note (Under 30 seconds PLEASE) [*:3vjptmt1]The ability to have different notes displayed based on tags/categories. This should be a default view setting. [*:3vjptmt1]The ability to show these lists in one line showing only the name of the note in the view, so I can quickly choose a list without having to search for it... (remember the under 30 seconds comment) [*:3vjptmt1]Have the application load quickly if it wasn't already open, and auto login. [*:3vjptmt1]The don't require us click on the edit button to make update... the reason we are in the note is to update it 99% of the time. An auto save feature would be nice. Thank you for your consideration of these features. -Ben
