  1. PLEASE give users an option to view their notebooks in multi columns like you used to. This single column is inefficient. Give us a choice of how we want to view our notebooks. You give us this option with our notes. Please do the same with notebooks. Thanks!
  2. I would really love to be able to go into the options panel and set the default paste to exclude all formatting. Evernote is a good lightweight word processor, but I strongly prefer all of my notes to be uniform in style. I find it makes it a lot easier to navigate my notes across all platforms. Really, the only formatting stuff I use is occasionally bold or italics. Any time I paste stuff from another program it's a pain having to fix the formatting so I can navigate around it easily. As far as I can tell, there's currently no way to accomplish this.
  3. Counters using numbers can be added for all menus in Main Menu, also counters in title bars. The Reminders in blue text above all notes is still handy, but upon entering the app, there are times where I just want to see my reminders as its own menu settings with other options for reminders as its own entity. Please see screetshots for examples:
  4. Inside the Options area, there is an area which allows for the alteration of the standard setting for new notes, when they are created. However, there is no setting area to alter the Interface font or size. This surprises me, because every program i use, as this ability Some require editing an external data file, or CSS file. Some have the setting in the same are as the alterations to the default file settings for text files (Scriviener, Word, Eclipse, every browser has this option, OpenOffice, Libre, LangugageTool, NotePad++ Every IDE I have (10 or more).--- Every program I have has the option to adjust the font size used by the interface, for the menus, the listing of folders and files, The labels... I know this because I've had to adjust them all so I can read them, and be able to use the programs. Everyone of them, except Evernote. Which, again, is a surprise.Unfortunately , since I can't read the menus or the listing of my folders on the sidebar, I'm going to have to wait for you to add this feature, before I can use the program again. Hoping to hear from you soon....
  5. This issue has been a thorn in the side of many for years now. So I thought that rather than keep banging on about it in various different threads, none of which are specifically about this problem, I'd start a thread dedicated to it. The ability to configure toolbars on almost every app that runs on a Mac has been a standard feature of Mac OS X for as long as that OS has existed. Those who have used Macs for longer than me can possibly recall if it was present in OSs before OS X. But Evernote, for some reason that I have never been able to figure out, bucks the system and insists on having a non-configurable toolbar. And I have never received an answer from any Evernote employee as to "WHY?" On my Macs, ranging from Macbooks to iMacs, so from 15" up to 27", the toolbar is largely empty (a victim of Evernote's unhealthy obsession with "unclutter"). But not only is it largely empty, it contains buttons that I will NEVER use and don't want there (such as the "New Chat" button), and it does NOT contain buttons that I DO want on there (such as "Email Note" and "Print"). So, could somebody from Evernote PLEASE explain just WHY the toolbar is not configurable, when it is a virtual standard feature of Mac OS X? Why was that decision made in the first place? And could somebody from Evernote PLEASE consider changing this ridiculous situation? What on earth is the use of having toolbar buttons that I would never use, while not being able to put buttons on there that I WOULD use? And of course, everyone is different - we need the ability to customise that toolbar for the way each of us uses Evernote. While I accept that those who post here on the forum would be only a tiny handful compared to the total Evernote user base, we are fairly power users, and loyal Evernoters. And you can't just assume that the other 99.9% who do not post would have views that differ from those who do. So, if anyone else feels the same way, please convey your thoughts on this thread, and for Evernote employees who read this thread, please PLEASE tell the powers-that-be that we want our configurable toolbar back. Oh, and the ability to get rid of buttons such as the "Chat" button on the iOS version (iPad) would also be nice, if we turn Chat off in a setting (that isn't there, but should be).
  6. Evernote Clean GUI vs Power Features -- How to Have Both There have been many times that some of the Evernote UI designers have cited their goal of providing a "clean UI" as the reason for not providing features that many users would like, like more choices in the Options or Preferences section. I have always believed that it is possible to provide both. Ghostery (a browser extension) has provided this. Perhaps the Evernote UI design team could learn something from them. From Ghostery 7 Over the years, I have observed a number of other apps that have achieved this goal of providing both a clean UI and powerful features/options. I think most of these were designed by previous generations that were not constrained by the design approaches that some deemed to be "cool". Evernote designers: Don't let your imagination and skills be constrained by what someone else thinks is "cool" or "desired (by designers)", even if it comes from companies like Apple, Adobe, Google, or even Evernote. ?
  7. Hi All, Hoping I can get a quick answer to this question (or rather, I hope I am just overlooking something obvious). In the Web Browser view of Evernote I can choose to Show Images or Text in the left pane (which includes the note Title and the note Brief Synopsis). This is great because when I am looking at the notes I just want to see the title and click into it for details. What I am trying to do now is find the same view option in the Windows desktop version. All I am seeing is the list, snippet, and card options. I see no way to hide the Brief Synopsis like I can on the web browser. The obvious choice would be to just use the web browser, but I would rather have the desktop application open. Please let me know if there is a way to configure this and/or some type of workaround that would give me a similar result. Thanks!

    Trading Journal - Options

I am using Evernote as a trading journal, most specifically for options trades. Currently, I add screenshots, and compose why I entered and exited a trade. The ability to compile and track data related to the trades would help maximize the use of Evernote as a trading journal. How might it be possible to compile data from each trade and compute various performance metrics within a notebook? Thanks for the help
  9. Hi all, The Options window on the Chrome extension is blank as you can see in the attached picture. I reinstalled the extension a few times but no luck. Any suggestions as to how to rectify this or is that a bug from Evernote extension and we've to wait for an update? Thank you.
  10. Hello, EvernoteClipper is making me angry because there seems no way to control it and it uses resources on my fairly old computer. There is no way to turn off the Clipper in the Options. The process always runs, even when I exit Evernote. I am sick of having to end the process manually via Task Manager. I do not use the Clipper. I do not want the Clipper. Is there some way to delete the Clipper without making Evernote crash?

  12. When selecting the notebook I wish to clip to, under options - Notebook Selection, web cllipper will only clip to one specific notebook named "Santa Ynez". I have tried all the options, changed the "last used" notebook, and the "always clip to notebook". I have reinstalled webclipper extension, and updated evernote to 5/8/3/6507. I have also tried changing the default notebook in evernote to something different. Suggestions?
  13. There have been a number of requests for Evernote to provide more user options/preferences, and to provide more up-to-date documentation. Recently in the Evernote Windows forum (see below) a solution was provided by an Evernote employee (Peter) for setting the image file format to JPG. To select this option requires the user to edit the Windows Registry. First, I would like to thank Peter for providing a solution for those willing to edit the Registry. Unfortunately, many users may not be comfortable with making changes to the registry. So, Peter's post prompted me to ask for the following: Provide more end-user options (like image format) under Options/Preferences Using the Windows Registry is great to make the option available ASAP But it quickly needs to be exposed to the UI for both EN Win and EN Mac (remember the Mac does not have a Registry) Update the Evernote KB immediately when previously unknown instructions are provided by Evernote employees (or maybe by anyone) When an EN employee provides instructions to the Forum, perhaps they could also notify the editor of the EN KB to add the same info. Request for Option Solution Provided
