  1. Hello ! The clipper works very well for me most of the time, but the other day I tried to use it in an online catalogue and it just won't work. It does work on other tabs in the same session, just not on that particular website. It doesn*t work on the general list, like this http://colombo.imss.fi.it/IMSS/?uilang=it&q=orto+semplici+AND+branches%3A12+AND+branches%3A12&_ga=1.48272870.1151713285.1489231763 nor on the individual items pages like this one http://colombo.imss.fi.it/IMSS/?uilang=it&q=orto+semplici+AND+branches%3A12+AND+branches%3A12&_ga=1.48272870.1151713285.1489231763 Is there a way to fix this ? I wanted to signal it to evernote but I never managed to actually find the form to report it... Thank you for any help
  2. Hi All, I’m pleased to announce the release of Evernote Web Clipper 6.9! The team did a great job delivering this version. Please reply to this post and let us know how you like it! And if you find an issue, please let us know in a reply to this post. New: Create a notebook directly from the notebook popover Reload the notebook list from the notebook popover to fetch notebooks created elsewhere Minimize web clipper panel for reading content and better previews Get notified about the Evernote for Outlook add-in when visiting Outlook or Office 365 Fixes: We fixed numerous bugs, here are the more notable ones: Amazon product clipping stopped working Overlapping text in web clipper notes "Last used notebook" option didn't always work Reminder wasn't always saved when clipping to a business notebook Various Safari specific bugs Known problem: Web Clipper doesn't work in restored tabs after restarting Safari. Workaround: Reload tab. Availability: We submitted for all three browsers today: Chrome users can expect 6.9 in the next few hours. For Opera it'll take a few days. Safari users need to be a bit more patient as the review process may take a week or two. Cheers Ruben
  3. I'm using the latest version of Evernote in Opera, and lately I've been having trouble clipping pages from allrecipes.com. For instance, if I go to http://allrecipes.com/recipe/87211/chicken-pesto-paninis/, then click the web clipper, then select the "Article" option, then click "+" twice to expand the clipped area (because the auto-selected area does not include the actual recipe), and save it, the formatting is scrambled, as in the attached screenshot. To work around this, I've tried clipping the printable version of the page (for instance, http://allrecipes.com/recipe/87211/chicken-pesto-paninis/print/?recipeType=Recipe&servings=4), but even though in this case the correct text is auto-selected, the text is truncated in the saved note. I've also tried the "Simplified Article" option, but that doesn't seem to include the photo.
  4. I've been using free Evernote (MacOS) to mainly clip recipes, primarily with the Opera web clipper extension, although i also sometimes use Chrome and Safari. This month i finally upgraded to a paid account. I was excited to clip in a lot of new recipes without running out of space for the month : ) But when i clip webpages into Evernote now, images do not appear inline as they used to. They are all appearing as attachments, and the attachments are .webp format so they don't display inline. I have searched on the forum and i understand that Evernote will only show .lpg images inline. But i still don't understand what's going on because: The source images are all .jpg format. The attached images in Notes are named "xxxxxx.jpg.webp". It looks like Evernote is appending the .webp extension. Why? If i right-click and rename the attached image by deleting ".webp" so they now end with ".jpg", nothing changes. Even if i restart Evernote and re-sync, the image is still an attachment, not viewed inline. This problem is consistent whether i view notes in the MacOS app or on Evernote Web. The behavior is identical whether i use webclipper through Opera, Chrome, or Safari. Any ideas about how i can fix this? I'm annoyed that this problem seems to have started the moment that i paid for Evernote! I am clipping from the same websites that i used before, can't think of anything else i'm doing differently. Thanks for your ideas!
  5. Today we're releasing Web Clipper 6.8 for Chrome, Safari, and Opera. Chrome is available on the Chrome web store. Safari and Opera: We're awaiting approval. This version contains stability fixes, especially for Safari users.
  6. I've been having a lot of problems with the Web Clipper in Opera this week. Earlier in the week it was clipping what I wanted, but also adding other "clips" with the same title (but no content). Today it is trying to clip every tab I have open instead of the one that I've chosen.
  7. Web Clipper 6.5 for Chrome, Safari, and Opera is now available! Web Clipper works great with any site, but saving the sites you browse most often is now improved. Clipping from Gmail, LinkedIn, YouTube, or Amazon? These sites are treated differently to allow you to clip only the portions of the page that you want. Then, save it to Evernote as a clean and clutter-free note. In Gmail’s case, Web Clipper will even include the email’s attachments! Updates will happen in the background and typically a browser restart will force the update to trigger. Sometimes if users have problems with the Clipper it may have updated in the background and then it will only work properly on new or refreshed tabs. You can learn more details on the Evernote Blog: https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2015/06/30/new-web-clipper-popular-sites-perfectly-captured/ Happy Clipping!
  8. I was looking forward to using Evernote web clips as alternative to bookmarks. But I can't find a way to browse the web clips in Opera. Ideally there would be a sidebar extension, e.g. like "Bookmarks by the side". Any suggestions?
  9. I'm finding that Evernote Clipper and Clearly will not work on certain websites when used with Opera 26 browser, (though they do with IE for example). Clipper used to work for these sites but now doesn't. Can't seem to find anything on either forum about this. Is it an Opera problem or an Evernote problem (Evernote was updated more recently) or a my computer problem? For example have I done something with site preferences to stop it working? This problem remains even if 'print' used or selection made. Thanks for any suggestions.
  10. I use cleanPages in opera 11 to enhance my reading experiences. But it lacks the function to send the processed page to evernote. I notice that evernote has Clearly for Chrome and FF. Will there be an opera version? Or anyone can recommend a similar opera extension with send to evernote function?
  11. As he recieved his web note, he found this: 'This note contains unsupported formatting.' As he tabed on the message he found: 'This version of Evernote doesn't support inline editing of webclips. Tap each individual part to edit the content. ' What is that supposed to be? How could this be handled or fixed?
  12. Just wondering - I have a bunch of links in different notes and by default when I click on them they open up in the default browser (in my case, Chrome). However, is it at all possible to specify that some links open in a different browser? So, for example, Link1 to open in Chrome (default) Link2 to open in Firefox I understand that Evernote just passes the URL to the OS to handle, but can I add anything to the URL (via the edit window) to tell the OS to use a different browser? Thx.
  13. I propose to realize import notes from the browser Opera (file notes.adr) Syntaxis is simple: Opera Hotlist version 2.0 Options: encoding = utf8, version=3 #NOTE ID=13 UNIQUEID=0B6E9C17B4DFCB4C99965902B6699057 NAME=notes13 URL=http://original url CREATED=1311521084 #NOTE ID=14 UNIQUEID=CAF2B91A3BC39545A6CB40C1FB382039 NAME=notes14 URL=http://original url CREATED=1311521277 ...
  14. Hi guys and Evernote Developers, I am a proud user of Evernote for its ease of use and its many practicalities. I have also tried many (and most) other outliner programs on mac, windows and web platforms to see how Evernote matches up and how it could be improved. While Evernote still comes out on top, I find it hard for it to compete with web programs in the area of data collection. I also find it lacking in some areas where it could be drawing new users. This is why I propose that Evernote take the transition into a program which lets users create and own their own personal internets. I say this as some programs like voodoo pad which I admire, let the user create their own personal wikis with automated creation of links as you type to pages with that name. I think this should be implemented into Evernote as a cool way to structure and organise your notes, but it could go further. Evernote could be the first outliner program to fully support the creation and modification of web pages internally. That is, full support of javascript, flash and all the other things that make the web work so that when an article is clipped from the internet, it works exactly the same in Evernote (some features to block the ads would be good though). I have heard users ask this before, so why not go all the way. Evernote should not only be able to run pages natively, but browse the web as well. This would be extremely useful for data collection if you could have the internet and the outliner in the same window! Also, to go with this would have to be a large search bar up the top (of course), bookmarks (of web pages and notes), a startup page (how about the new Evernote pin-up board acting also as a web quick start page) and the ability to assign a note or web page to be your startup page, viewing history and if possible extensions or the ability to use chrome extensions of something. Also, for the developers, some tools to modify the scripts on the page (including note xml) would be useful, like the tools bar and editor at the bottom of the chrome and safari web browsers. All these features can be implemented by using code from the open source Chromium browser. To appeal to the web developers, it would be great also if Evernote was a bit more like Coda - a great and very simple web coding program. Note XML and page HTML could be opened up in a page like this in a new tab if people choose, from a button in the developer tools at the bottom. Adding the variety of different languages which Coda supports could be left to 3rd party developers. I also love the buttons at the top to switch between modes. In Evernote it could be web page, source code, outliner, markup. About the last one - markup. This is something which I think Evernote lacks as a quick note tool. Some of the tools from Skitch should be implemented right into Evernote as well as more ability to manipulate images like resize them. Some simple mind mapping tools would also be very good. A feature which has been asked for by many users before is tabs. This would become a must in a web and wiki program. My suggestion is using Opera style tabs which enable the sorting of tabs into groups which stack on top of each other then expand sideways when clicked. This could be done automatically in groups accordion to the notebooks that notes are sorted in and the web pages just as normal tabs (people can sort these into groups themselves as they browse). This image also demonstrates Opera's quick look feature. I also like that feature in IE which lets you see a layout of all your open tabs in one window (but I won't open that can of worms) One final, final feature which I suggest would be useful (even though i'm sure there are countless others) is the ability to grab a tab or page and drag it to a section on the screen to divide the page into two like your can do on the desktop on a windows computer. This would just make comparing, referring to and collecting data from things a lot simpler even on windows than resizing the whole screen. I know the was a lot to take in, and I congratulate anyone who even read it all, but that is the way I think Evernote should progress in the future. You may have a conflicting vision or an idea to improve this one. If so, I would very much like to hear it.
