  1. Whenever I try to open Evernote, the program just shuts down altogether. It opens for a second and then automatically closes. No error message. I'm using Evernot v 6.4.2. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, uninstalling with Revo and reinstalling and nothing seems to work? Any idea what might be happening and how to remedy this?
  2. Please watch the enclosed video. When I open the Evernote iOS app, do you see how late the app opens? After the last few updates, Evernote iOS has started to work seriously slowly. The Program is opening late and there is a problem with the notes. Video.MOV
  3. I'm unable to open all my notes. Running latest version on android. Regular User attempting to find one app to organize all my tasks (and so far evernote isn't making a very good impression). We get 2 free devices, I've enabled it only on my phone for now while I'm trying to decide if I like the app or not. Most of the notes open, but a couple don't.
  4. Trying my luck here, as Evernote will not allow me to actually contact them... I have Evernote ( Version 6.9 (453991 Direct)) on my Mac (OSX 10.11.6) and all of a sudden my Evernote will now automatically decide to launch/open when I turn on my laptop each morning. How do I stop this? I can't find anything under preferences to uncheck, and the icon in my dock does not have 'Open at Login' checked. Can someone help show me how to stop this, or do I just have to uninstall this app altogether? Thanks.
  5. For a 1-sentence note, I open a new note and then type in the lower pane. For all other notes, I prefer to open a new window whose width is set at a "comfortable" line length. In that case, I need to click "New Note", and then double-click the title in order to open that note in a new window. This current "Topic Details" window is a good example of how difficult it is to read long lines of text :-) I would like to see a user-configurable option to open all new notes either (a) as in the current default, or (b) directly in a new window.
  6. When I forward an attached report to my Evernote email, the document will not open. It shows as a document view file and it will only open with a Text Editor. It is shown as random numbers when I open it. When I look at it on my iPhone, it shows as a PDF and looks fine.
  7. So....when I click the icon in the tray, I do it because I want to open evernote. When I do that now, for some reason, it opens underneath all of my other windows forcing me to click in the taskbar to actually see it. Also, it doesn't remember to open maximized. It opens in some silly partial window about 1000 pixels wide and maybe 700 pixels tall (my display is 2560x1440). So each time I use it, I have to click the tray, click the taskbar, then click the maximize button. A serious pain but I can't find any setting to change that behavior. I'm running win 8.1 Pro on a fujitsu T904 convertible tablet PC and Evernote 5.8.7.7674 (275674 Pre Release) I know....pre-release can be prone to bugs but it's been doing this a while and I was actually hoping the new version might fix it. lol Any ideas? Preferably something simple that I foolishly overlooked? Oh...while I'm here.... any chance evernote will be listening to all of the feedback and adding back in some actual color and contrast any time soon? I just installed Office 2013 and they went the same ugly, low-contrast route and I'm just about sick of gray text on light gray, medium gray, and white with the occasional tinted color added to the gray. Buttons would be nice too - with nice, defined edges so I can see out of the corner of my eye "third button to the left" and click without having to actually read the text or decipher the grey on grey icon. (wait, I think the background now is a light blue-gray instead). Finally, I think the scroll bars have become too thin. I understand the need to save space, but I also need something to grab onto. With screen resolutions going up and scroll bars getting narrower, it's gotten to the point where often I have only about 1/8 inch of area on the screen to scroll on so I have to carefully mouse over to it which slows me down as well.
  8. Hello! I have the web beta evernote now, and I'd like to know how we can open multiple notes in separate windows. It's very useful for me at work. We could do it in the version before, so I'm curious to know if this is still available and also where it is, I haven't found it. Sorry if this question has already been asked; but didn't found anything on the web for this. I use mac AND pc. Thank you in advance PS - sorry for my english !
  9. I use Evernote to get feedback from clients/friends. What i usually do is create a note write and visualize everything i made and share that note with the client and all my friends and what i get back is a text based email referring to the note. so have have to constantly switch between feedback and my note. What i would like is a more open note that will allow peoples feedback on a skitch/web clipper like way that will allow every visitor to view the open shared url and will allow him or her to leave feedback right on the page/note Is there plans to implement this is there some trunk apps that will allow this. Let me know what you think or how you work i would love to hear that.
  10. Hiya- I was wondering if there is any way to open MS OneNote docs in Evernote. Every time I try, it just comes up as an attachment in evernote that wants to open up in onenote (wihich this computer doesn't have). I'm trying to download my OneNote notebook from DropBox to my boyfriend's computer which doesn't have OneNote. Help please?
  11. Hello. When selecting "Share, Copy & Open" from inside the share menu, the browser opens the landing page in three tabs at once. When selecting "Copy & Open", after the item is already shared, (as expected) one tab is launched.
  12. I wonder if there is a possibility to start Evernote discretely or in a private modus on Windows. So that it opens without showing a note yet. Sometimes I've opened my pc on a big screen with others in a meeting and I want to look for something I posted in Evernote. So I have to start Evernote, but I don't want others to see notes that I've taken in other sessions because of the privacy aspect. Thanks for any help.
  13. Today I tried updating Evernote ... and afterwards, it wouldn't open (or let me reinstall it). Here's the solution that worked for me: Background: I attempted to update Evernote (on my mac) to the latest version, 5.0.2 (from 5.0.1). I downloaded (and ran) the update. It showed "migrating notes" ... but once it finished, Evernote never opened. I tried rebooting and that didn't help. I tried deleting Evernote & re-downloading the latest version and that didn't work either. Below are TWO different solutions that I got from Evernote support - the first one DID NOT work for me. Fortunately, the second one did - BUT - there is a drawback to method #2 (you'll need to resync everything back down). In any event before doing either, chat with Evernote support first to see which (if either) they recommend for you: Method #1 - (this didn't work for me, but might for you): Quit Evernote from the elephant icon in the Menu Bar Drag the Evernote application to the system Trash Reboot your Mac Download and install the latest version of the Mac client: http://www.evernote....ile=EvernoteMac When you open the download, make sure to drag the Evernote icon into the Applications folder instead of running it from within the installer package. Eject the disk image and delete the installer file before you run Evernote. Method #2 - this one DID WORK for me: (but if you go this route, be advised that Evernote will be empty and you will need to re-sync everything back down). My Evernote is many gigs in size, and is still syncing several hours later - but - it is nearly 75% done and looking fine). Here's method #2: Don't forget that while we work on this you can access your synced notes online at www.evernote.com. We would like to have you completely delete all traces of Evernote and then try to install again. First verify that all your notes have synced. If you have unsynced or local only notes you will need to export these and back them up in another location prior to uninstalling Evernote in this manner. Failure to back up local only or unsynced notes will result in the loss of these notes. Once ready, please download and use the following program to uninstall Evernote: http://onnati.net/apptrap/ Reboot your computer. Once you’ve rebooted, Simply drag the Evernote application to the Mac Trash and AppTrap will detect that you are uninstalling and remove all the correct files. Reboot your computer. Then, download and install the latest version of the Mac client: http://www.evernote....ile=EvernoteMac When you open our installer, make sure to drag the Evernote icon into the Applications folder instead of running it from within the installer package. Eject the disk image and delete the installer file before you run Evernote. Many thanks to Evernote Support - you guys are awesome!
