  1. I use Outlook 2010. I know how to disable the Outlook add-in once it is installed. But every time I upgrade Evernote I have to go in and disable the plugin (it prevents outlook from launching, but even if it didn't, I do not want to use it, or even have it active - ideally it wouldn't even be installed). How do I keep the add-in from being installed ever again? If this is not possible, how do I at least keep it from being activated every time I upgrade Evernote? Thanks
  2. Greetings. I know that I can search inside office docs. However, when I type a word I know it's inside an office doc I can't see where Evernote found the match (see the note with the power point file); instead, I get the file highlighted. I suppose Evernote is saying: "I found your keyword here". I saw this feature on Mac in this great tutorial (minute 12:30): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WAabg7ZsQI How can I set Evernote for windows to show me Office docs as in the tutorial, so I can see the exact part where Evernote found the keyword? Thank you.
  3. A little cheeky to post in Evernote's forum, even under the Third Party Applications section, but lots of folks have an interest in OneNote as well as Evernote.. Check out the latest information - The Microsoft Office team has announced today the upcoming launch of its first-ever Learn OneNote Conference, a six-days online event that will be open to everyone looking to master the popular note-taking tool. The conference will feature 21 pre-recorded videos of OneNote experts from all over the world who will share a whole range of different use cases as well as their best tips and tricks: http://winbeta.org/news/onenote-is-holding-a-free-online-conference-beginning-november-12th-its-first-ever
  4. Pessoal, Gostaria de saber como vocês usam o Evernote Skitch. Vou compartilhar alguns exemplos de como eu uso o Skitch no meu dia a dia e no meu trabalho.
  5. Hello Everyone! I am not sure, but i think this topic has been tried to be answered before - without a real answer... But as i say, i am not sure. Problem: Have attachments to my notes such as spreadsheets, word documents, etc. It does happen from time to time, that a quick correction on an attached spreadsheet is needed. So, the file in question can be copied out of Evernote iOS to an external app. The doc can be edited there (WPS, Office suite, etc.). Only this external tool only saves to its own database or other Clouds - just not Evernote. That means, the edited file has to be e-mailed to Evernote and re-imported manually to the note in Evernote. This leads also to a versioning problem! It would be so nice, if such operation could be done as on the MAC (OSX). There yo tell Evernote once and for all what extension has to be opened by which Application. On the iOS device it would be already very nice to be able to "open in" the attachment in the external application. That would be very pro! But, as i mentioned in the begin, may be such is already solved... Thanks a lot for your help.
  6. Greetings, Has anyone found an alternate to Quickoffice for the iPad with regard to editing office documents that are embedded into notes. Previously Quckoffice had a feature to link your EN account into it's cloud services area and then you could browse notebooks and open word documents right from the app. This was nice because there was no "round trip" needed within iOS. When you saved it, the document just saved right into the note. This was perfect for my workflow as I do store a lot of MS Word docs in Evernote notes. Well.. Then Google purchased Quickoffice and mucked everything up. Now the only cloud service that's offered to link is Google Drive. While GDrive is a nice service it doesn't replace EN and I want to keep using my existing workflow. My question to the users here is has anyone found an app that functions similar to the way Quickoffice used to work? Thanks in advance. Tom
  7. Hello, I have been using Evernote to store an excel spreadsheet as an attachment to a note that I regularly access and update from 4 different devices (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Mac Lion 10.7.5). I typically edit the file in OpenOffice.Org's Calc program since it's also cross-platform and I don't have to deal with Microsoft's *****. All has been good until recently. When I double-click the attachment on the Mac Lion device it opens an older version of the attached file from a week ago, even though all notes are synced and current. I noticed when I open the attachment on the windows devices it will add a new number to the name, i.e, attachment[1].ods, every time I open it. On the Mac it is always just attachment.ods no matter how many time I open it. So, could it be reopening the same old file from a Mac temp folder instead of re-downloading the attachment from the Evernote cloud? And if so, anyone know how to clean out old Evernote temp files on a mac?
  8. Hello, Is there any way to search inside of MS Word and PPT documents without first converting them to PDF? Many thanks for you help, Regards, Jason
  9. Hi all, I think this is simple question with a quick answer. I've run a few searches, but I must be using the wrong search terms. I'm working with a non-profit on a project where we're all in different locations. We already have a large amount of our work in Word documents. Before I purchase our premium group account I'm trying to confirm that we'll be able to store all of our Word documents in a Group notebook, access these documents from PC/Mac clients and have the local changes reflected in the cloud version of the document. If someone could confirm this or point me to documentation that confirms this ability that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Tim
  10. Wait wait wait, are you telling me that Evernote can index handwritten text in scanned documents, but that it doesn't index text encoded in bog-standard office files? Really? I am managing a community project in which I receive reports from volunteers in a variety of formats - on paper, in the body of emails, and as attached files of various kinds, but mostly MS Word documents. I had hoped to dump everything into an Evernote notebook in order to be able to search across the entire archive of reports. A classic Evernote use case, no? Well, apparently not. I've read comments from Dave on this issue to the effect that the variety of formats makes this complex... parsing... But we've all been used to 'searching inside files' on our desktop PCs for decades, so this just seems weird. Have I missed or misunderstood something? Or should I redesign my workflow to include writing out the content of Word reports by hand and then scanning the handwritten documents into Evernote as searchable PDFs?
