  1. Hi, a search in the forums only turned something up towards PDFs and that wasn't very helpful. I am wondering if Evernote has the ability to extract the text (via OCR) from an uploaded image? I am thinking here of something similar that Microsoft's OneNote is doing (you can right click on an image, then tell it to "copy text" and then paste that text anywhere you like)? It would be greatly helpful for indexing / working with images / screenshots of articles and actually complete my evernote wish list (well, if I'd be nitpicking I'd love to see the voice to text as well, Microsoft is sorta ki
  2. I would be great if Evernote had a feature to convert parts of handwritten notes to text, similar to Microsoft's OneNote or Samsung's S-Note. Since the OCR search for handwritten text already works extremely well I feel like this shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  3. I could not find this mentioned in the Scannable product info page. It appears Scannable PDFs are just images. Does Premium unlock OCR capabilities? Is there a way to demo the performance first?
  4. PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE: Please develop a product (similar to the discontinued Moleskine Daily Planner), that would allow us paper-calendar/planner lovers to integrate our calendars & schedules with Evernote & Outlook/Calendars/ICal. Here are my specific requested features/options: I would like to be able to write (on paper/old-school) my daily agenda/plan and to-dos on a hard copy daily (hour-by-hour) planner. I want to be able to scan that planner page, and have it sync with Evernote. I then want Evernote to convert that text (via OCR) into digital format
  5. Don't know when this sneaked out, but I wasn't aware until just now that https://www.cnet.com/how-to/turn-a-photo-of-data-into-a-microsoft-excel-spreadsheet/ Interesting... 🤔
  6. No matter what I do, Evernote does not recognize handwriting for ocr. I tried penultimate, tried files from goodnote imported as image. This seems to work for everybody except for me. It’s not my handwriting - goodnote has no issues finding words in the text, the same note where Evernote returns No Matches. What is the secret?
  7. How long does this take, on average? I added a scanned typed document about 30 hours ago, and still nothing. I do understand that as a non-Premium member I'm in a queue....
  8. I encountered a problem when I use rocketbook app. The ocr does not work when you upload pages using rocketbook app. (although they are jpgs.) When I upload the same page using Evernote app, the pages are searchable, when I upload the page using default camera of IOS, it is searchable. Is there anyone who has the same problem or knows how to solve it. Thank you in advance.
  9. My ReMarkable tablet is a great note taking device. I export an image PDF and include it into an Evernote document. The Evernote text preview on my Android is near perfect. I cannot copy the preview text. How can I export or copy that OCR text into another Evernote document? All help is appreciated. Premium user. SocceRef.
  10. Feel free to tell me if I'm straining the limits of Evernote, but here is what I'm trying to do: I am preparing a brief to be filed in an appellate court, and I am using EN to prepare the supporting appendix -- basically, several hundred PDFs that I will be citing to in the brief. I have the individual PDFs in separate notes all in a separate notebook in EN so I can easily find them and work with them. But now that I am nearly ready to prepare the appendix itself, there are some preparations I need to perform on the PDFs, e.g., OCRing them and numbering them. Sure would be nice if there's
  11. As a user, who uses Evernote to make my home office paperless to handle incoming bills and alike I want Evernote to place tags on my notes as they scanned and OCR'd based on a learning based algorithm or a list of predefined keywords so that I do not need to add to frequently used tags such "cellphone bill", "utilities", etc. Best, Dave
  12. After taking a photo of a page of text with my iPhone, how can I process the photo of said page in order to extract the highlighted area of the text as a note using (EN) for Mac?

  14. I am bilingual user (En/Ar). I've used Evernote's products since 2008. However, Evernote lacks Arabic support including RTL and OCR. There are about 400 millions Arabic speakers. Also Arabic letter are used by many other langages such as Urdu, Persian and Kurdish. I would like to see Arabic support in Evernote products.
  15. Hi everyone, I'm struggling a bit with the Evernote OCR search on Windows 10. I scan a lot of notes from University into the system and wish to use the search to find key points etc. My main issue is I can't cycle through the returned results from a search. As you can imagine (or have been there yourself) a subject about finance is going to have the word formula mentioned quite repeatedly on multiple pages. But for some reason, if I search for formula it just gives me every note with that in it, and I'm unable to cycle through the results to find what I'm after. The worst part is control+
  16. OS: Windows 7 & 8 EN: 4.6.3.8096 ISSUE: Ink Notes created in Evernote are not OCR'ed and therefore not searchable. CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Here is the text of an email from Jack at EN support: Dear Valued Customer, Sorry about that, Ink notes are not made for the purpose to be directly compatible with our OCR but specifically designed to be used with a fine-point drawing device, such as a stylus then imported as .png file, after that you can try to index. Hope it helps! Jack DISCUSSION: I've been an Evernote user since the early tablet PC days when the ability to use a
  17. Hi all, I am currently having an issue with the searchability of documents when using the Scansnap Cloud service. I am currently using an Scansnap ix500 scanner. WHEN I DO USE SCANSNAP CLOUD (WIRELESS) Currently, I have Scansnap Cloud set up such that all documents go straight to Evernote (as can be seen in the first attached picture). However, when the documents arrive in Evernote, they are not searchable/OCR'd. WHEN I DON"T USE SCANSNAP CLOUD (WIRED) When I have a wired connection and send the documents to Evernote through Scansnap's "quick menu" (from the included softwa
  18. Hello EN friends, I'm confused ... I OCR all my PDFs when scanning them to Evernote (through ScanSnap). When I process the PDF in Evernote, I used to be able to go into the PDF and copy/paste text (because it's OCRed). This is very helpful e.g. when I want to edit the title of my note. But all of the sudden I am no longer able to do that within Evernote. I would have to open the PDF in Preview or Adobe Reader - only then I'm able to mark/copy text from my scanned document. Did I miss anything? I use the latest Evernote version on Mac (both Sierra and Yosemite).
  19. This is probably a strange request, but I want to disable text recognition in images. I'm using a notebook in Evernote for scans of index cards, but the text recognition is giving me so many false positives (particularly when I search for rare terms) that it's getting really frustrating. Is this an option? If so, how? **** More details for the curious or in case it's relevant: Every article I read that I think may be useful in the future gets an index card, with its citation and a summary of the most relevant findings/protocols/approaches, along with keywords written on the back. These are
  20. I got my Fujitsu Scansnap S1300 today. My plan was to use is for scanning my mail and documents to Evernote. I was very excited about going paperless and all until I realised that the Scansnap software does not support OCR in my language. Norwegian, that is. Right now I am wondering if I should just return the scanner, or if there might be some way around the problem. My first idea was to let Evernote do the OCR. However, Evernote does not support Norwegian text recognition at this point. So... Say I upload my PDFs now and let Evernote scan them using a dictionary similar to Norwegian (such as
  21. I have my pdf files on my android tablet sd card. I want to move them to EN. But first I want to add a OCR text overlay. Using my Windows 10 computer what is the best sequence of steps and software to add OCR text overlay and then upload to EN premium account. I want the text overlay so the end product is copy and paste able text or is there a way to do this after the fact (after it is on EN). I understand that EN servers will add OCR for searchability, but this does not give select/copy paste capability of I understand correctly.
  22. I would like to see the following features made available to really make my Evernote Moleskines work for my needsd. 1) I want to be able to draw a to do list (check box followed by task), and then have the ability to take a photo and have it digitally converted to a typed checklist into evernote. I would also like the ability to update this list by checking off or 'x'ing out boxes on my checklists. 2) I would like the ability to tag items in my Moleskine without the need for stickers. Hashtags would be a good solution. 3) I would like to see if these features can be inte
  23. Is there a way to manually activate OCR for a particular note containing a PDF? I have found one PDF that has not been converted. (Have not yet checked others.) Its image quality seems very good. More generally: What is the consensus on how effective EN is these days on automatically OCRing PDFs consisting of image only? I gather some find EN's OCR performance is sketchy. Thanks... p.s. I use Evernote for Mac and, of course, access EN on the web.
  24. Hello! I'm using a Moleskine Pen+ for capturing notes I make. I'm syncing through the Moleskine Notes app into Evernote, where the notebook pages are captured. I can search using Evernote through the content of those pages, but in some instances the OCR has not identified words correctly. Is it possible to manually adjust those imperfections, so that I can search accurately through this content in future? Alternatively, is there a commonly-used workaround?
  25. When I search for a text inside the image note using search icon on the right-top - it doesn't find anything --> it doesn't work. I've consulted this with the support team and this is not a bug - this functionality is missing in the iOS app. It works perfectly on the Web app or the Desktop app - but not in iOS. If I use global search from the main screen and if I have a note with dozens of images, it's almost impossible to find the correct image with the highlighted text without having possibility to do "find next/previous". For the Evernote rep, here is the support ticket#
