  1. Hello When I started with evernote, I didn't study well how to organize notebooks and tags. So i did it a little bit spontaneous, as much people do. As a result, i have a lot of unusefull tags and i have notebooks who should be tags. After a few months i understand I have to reorganize my notebooks and tags. I have a lott of notes and a lot of tags, when i must do this, note by note and tag by tag this is impossible for me. For the notebooks, it is not a problem since it is easy to take all the notes in a notebook and put it in another notebook.in one action. But for the tags it is a big problem. It should be possible to give a same tag to many notes in one action and not note by note. It should also be usefull to delete many tags with one move or to give many tags the same name in one move. It should be a great help for me if someone has tips for me, how to do this, thanks for answering, Tony
  2. Other Scubadiver

Hi, When I am asked to join a notebook, what security risks am I opening myself up to? Am I truly just joining that notebook? or do I give others who also have access to that notebook access to other information about my Evernote account? Or about me? Thanks
  3. More than 256 notebooks needed

I have need of more than the limit of 256 notebooks at top level. Any plans to increase this limit without going to a business account?
  4. In 2014 I asked for the ability to generate a list of notebooks each user has joined in an Evernote Business account. Has this come to fruition yet? My original request stemmed from staff changes, and setting up the "new person" with the same notebooks their predecessor had. Now, I'm shuffling corporate employees' access with multiple Evernote Business accounts. This would really be helpful. Perhaps an add on to the admin console? Has anyone found a way around this?
  5. Using the web-based interface, the default view isNotes, which are a mishmash and chaotic. Could it be possible to use Notebooks as the default view, which is the main form of organization available on Evernote?
  6. Ever since EN changed the layout of the Notebooks page, it has been a frustration for finding a single Notebook. However, it would be a GREAT help if the top of the Notebook page had a "Collapse/Expand All Notebooks" option. It would render a quicker scrolling and finding. Just a suggestion for making EN better.
  7. Dear Devs On the iPhone, I have noticed that "Recent Notebooks" area's do not represent the recent notebooks that have been used. Could the "Recent Notebooks" in "Move Note" area and the "Notes" tab be enhanced to update more effectively? Here is a screenshot of the "Move Note" area I am talking about: https://thesecretweapon.tools/temp/20171229-recent-notebooks-needs-to-update-more-effectively-move-note.JPG Here is a screenshot of the "Notes" tab area I am talking about: https://thesecretweapon.tools/temp/20171229-recent-notebooks-needs-to-update-more-effectively-notes-tab.JPG
  8. At present, the structural organization of Evernote is in dire need of improvement. Here are the no-brainer features that should be added to Evernote as soon as humanly and technically possible. 1) The contents of every note are organized into sections 2) Every notebook is organized into sub-notebooks 3) Stacks are organized into folders aka meta-stacks. My request basically boils down to adding 3 new structural entities: 1) note sections; 2) sub-notebooks; 3) meta-stacks. If you agree that these features need to be added, please upvote this post. I hope to get an official response from the Evernote Development Team as to whether the abovementioned features are going to be added.
  9. Initially I tried this in Personal Edition but not available and I don't yet know if it is available in Business edition as of yet because I first wanted (assumed) I could export all my content and that content is divided to Notebooks. Each Notebook is an area of specific research. If I'm researching Microsoft Server 2016 and SCCM that would be different than Exchange 2016. Those are two notebooks. If I share one or the other with others it needs to be related just to those specific topics and not have any notes of anything unrelated. Lot of notebooks, lot of shares. I have concluded that you simply cannot create a Stack and share the stack and let the team choose. I'm hoping Business Edition will do this otherwise it has no value for me beyond me. I cannot use it as a archive/KB/collections of information by relative topic and keywords. If I'm missing something I'll post in feature request. Now, I opened the Business account assuming I could export my content. I downloaded latest Windows build. Exported the content. Logged off, back on as Business account ID, imported the content and none of the Notebooks or Stacks imported. Just hundreds of notes (just started using the product). I read a KB article about then logging to Web as my personal account and performing a "Move" notebook option that doesn't exist for me. Is this a upgrade? Because at this point I would, like to share what I've build in the test environment and port that to the Business account, not have to create 50 Notebooks and move all that content around. I have not been using the tool very long but I have created a lot of notebooks and lot of content that once shown to management would demonstrate my point versus what we are using today. Knowledge is power. Organized knowledge quickly found, in technology, power and bonus check. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction or simply state what I'm trying to do cannot be done and I'll first test the ability in Business edition to share out Top Level notebooks that are high level like "Exchange" and then under that Category I need Exchange_Security, Exchange_2016, Exchange_Online.... Just minor examples but some technologies get very fragmented. Like "Two Factor", then notebooks under that for specific technologies from Google or other. This combined with the ability to save PDF's and have everyone aggregate there research to a single structure is the value for my team right now. And I'm sure there is much more.
  10. I'm using EN Business in my law practice to help synthesize facts from a case file. I keep case file documents in one notebook, and build case facts in another notebook. The limitation is that it is difficult to toggle back and forth between my documents notebook and my facts notebook. To open a document, I have to go to one notebook; but to create a fact, I have to go to another notebook. Back and forth, back and forth. Sometimes I will use the web interface. But that is limited because the shortcut keys are different or unavailable, there is no highlighting function, sorting functions are limited, etc. One or both of the following features would be a great help: 1) Allow opening multiple instances/windows of Evernote. 2) Allow creating a business note via the shortcut-key Control+Alt+N. Currently, Control+Alt+N will only create a personal note. And Control+N will only create a new note in the current notebook. I need a way to create notes in a different notebook without having to leave the notebook I'm currently working in. Please advise. Thanks, Tim
  11. I use the Stacks feature frequently to organize my notebooks, but I would love some alternatives to default alphabetical sorting for stacks and notebooks. It would make it much easier to segment out the different things I use Evernote for and speed the process of finding the exact notes I want or need. It would also be great to have an alternative to the 'most recent first' sorting of notes within notebooks, but this concerns me the least since tagging and search functions are so robust.
  12. Notebook Limit: 250

One of the features of Evernote is to organize by notebooks. Over the years, I find that I need to pull all related notes from a particular notebook and place it in a new notebook. I have been with Evernote almost since the beginning of its starting. Now I am limited in my organizing. Argh! This is frustrating. Any chance that this could be changed? (BTW, I do have a Premium account) Any ideas? Thanks, Allen Long
  13. I arrange my notebooks in stacks, for example I have a stack called tasks, and within that stack I have Work Tasks, Home Tasks, etc as separate notebooks. In the desktop versions of EN you can see all notes in a stack by selecting that stack. So I can see all my tasks by selecting the task stack. However in the iOS apps you have to select individual notebooks within a stack. It would be great, for consistency across the versions, and functionality if this way of working could be added. Should be fairly easy as essentially that’s what the ‘all notes’ does but for all notes not just a specific stack Justin
  14. I'm getting back to Evernote after sometime away and trying to reorient myself. I'm mostly using the web version, on Chrome and/or Firefox. I can't figure out how to expand my viewing of the notebooks to fullscreen, or even just to widen that window, the way you can expand a note to fullscreen. Some of my notebooks have a bunch of notes within them and I'd like to be able to quickly glance over the contents of the notebook. How do you view a notebook fullscreen?
  15. List of notebooks....

Hi-My husband is using the free version of Evernote on his Mac. We can't figure out why he just has the Notebook icon and not the list of the different notebooks. If he clicks on the notebook icon he sees the list but that list is not in the Sidebar. Thank you for the help. I am sure that there is an easy answer for it but we are puzzled. I use Evernote all the time and don't have this problem. Ugh. He is very frustrated which frustrates me... lol
  16. Notebook icons

I recently updated the latest version of Evernote for my mac. I can't seem to be able to find how to turn back on the icon view for notebooks. Any Help?
  17. I used to share some notebooks with my husband's account easily, but since the new look "upgrade," I can't find how to do it. My account is premium, his is free. I'm using iOS 10.3.3, he has iOS 9.3.5. The notebooks that were already shared work fine, but I need to share some new ones.
  18. Hello, I need to don't have or delete the list call Recent Notebooks before the Notebooks Organized in Stacks. In Mac is possible close, but in iOS I don't know how. I Hope I can resolve because I need to have immediately in evidence the notebook's organizing before any think. Thanks a lot 4 your help
  19. Notes as Numbered Pages

Is it possible for a note to have pages instead of it being one long Note? This would help to take better notes and to be able to organize them better. Where you can have a note with 5 pages. I use Evernote for Seminars and it would help to be able to organize my notes better. With IPad Pro, you could flip pages with a pen or your finger Thank you. Eduardo Joffroy
  20. Helper Icon Needs #tags @notebooks

Hi there, I would like the Helper Icon to allow the user to type #tags @notebooks similar to sending to the Evernote Email and using the subject line. It would allow users to step into the application less frequently to use the functions this would provide. I've attached an image to be clear with the concept because I do appreciate the simplicity of the Helper Icon as it is now. It allows my work to stream out in a manner that differs from the iPhone application yet is still delightful in that difference. It's everyone wishing they could just open up a text document and write's dream. Thank you, Evernote Team. Joseph Anton Carter @enjoyafilmJoe
  21. So I started using Evernote much more this year than in previous years. I'm a writer and it's easy to organize my thoughts with my notebooks, etc. My problem is this: On my tablet and on my phone, I have no issues accessing my notebooks or my tags. On the web app, I see the icon for my tags but can't click on it and I see no way to look at all of my notebooks. This is frustrating because I frequently jump from notebook to notebook and I can't seem to do this on the do this on the website (or web app, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at).
  22. I have used Evernote for a few years as portfolios and for giving feedback. I have two 'Plus' accounts as I have set up a notebook for each of my 300+ students. These are shared with them individually via email address. This works fine for them to send work to me, and me to give individual feedback. It doesn't however work as well if i want to get the same information in form of a note to a whole class or year group, as I have to 'copy to notebook' for each individual student - up to 90 of them. I collect my notebooks into stacks for each class and would love to be able to copy to all notebooks in a stack, but I can't see that this is an option. How do the rest of you solve this issue which must be a very common need for teachers?
  23. I've been using Evernote in "lazy man" mode, but now want to organize my note files. I thought Evernote would have a simple click & drag method where I could set up folders (notebooks) in one column, and in another column I would have my original notes which could be dragged to my newly organized notebooks. Instead, it seems I need to click a note and then click a dropdown and add it to that folder / notebook. It would be much simpler and intuitive to have a click and drag capability. If I'm missing that option, please let me know and I'll use it to sort through my various notes. Thank you! Mark D.
  24. Notebook questions

Hello! I am new to Evernote. Would someone answer a few questions? 1. Is there no ability to create a notebook cover? 2. Is there ability to organize notebooks that are in the stack? 3. What is this "deeper more powerful search" offered in the premium services and how exactly does the search differ using the plus service and the premium service? 4. In creating a notebook, I saw the ability to share it but there was no ability that I saw to make it private. Can I assume then, that it is private by default? 5. Is there no customization of paper in the notebooks? Thank you!
  25. Pin notes to the top of notebook

Hey Evernote Team It would be so great to be able to pin notes to the top of a notebook. For example, I'm a student and I'd love to be able to easily refer to the study guide whenever I'm in my -- for example -- maths notebook. Using shortcuts isn't an option because this will only clutter up and shortcuts and block me from getting to stuff I actually want there. Think Spark's ability to Pin Emails to the top of the page. You got this! Jonathan
