  1. I find it very difficult to organize my notes in Evernote because the search tool does not show what notebook stack a note resides in, only the notebook. When I have hundreds of notes and they're organized in the available tiers (Note>Notebook>Notebook Stack), if I'm ever going to be able to organize them, I need to be able to start at the top level and work down. The search tool works great but only if I know what to search for. I also need to be able to work in the other direction, that is to organize topically and go from general to specific. Can be please add the functionality that Windows and Macs have offered for decades that allows us to organize our data?
  2. Windows client 6.4.2.3788, Windows 7 Professional. Evernote Premium. If you create a notebook stack, this seems to involve creating a new stack (called 'new stack' (?) by default) & then renaming it to the name you require. The newly named stack isn't automatically placed in the correct place alphabetically in the notebook view. You have to exit & re-start Evernote client before it is sorted correctly. The same problem occurs if you just rename a stack, or a notebook. Thanks in anticipation for help (or bug fix).
  3. Question about the notebook stacks feature. I wanted to see if there is any way to further nest notebooks, at least one more level or if Evernote will allow us to do it in future updates? I use Evernote for my personal and business life and want to be able to organize better because it can get a bit unorganized and easily too, even though I still use tags. If anyone has any tips or advice about how to do this or ways to better organize my Evernote account it would be greatly appreciated. Anything helps. Thank you.
  4. Regularly I find notebook stacks with a couple of random notebooks nested sitting in my Notebooks. I definitely haven't created them. I drag the notebooks out to the general root and the stacks evaporate but some days late sure enough more notebook stacks with other random notebooks grouped within. There seems no pattern to it - the notebooks are not neccesarily ones I am using. I have various versions of evernote on several computers and devices but none of them have notebook stacks setup. It's not a serious problem just a niggling annoyance. Any ideas what is causing it and / or about a cure?
  5. Good day all, First off, let me say that there is a lot that I like about Evernote. It has a nice interface, it's easy to use, and syncs extremely well. I sync Evernote on 4 devices and it has only had a few syncing issues, and most of the time when a sync issue comes up, I can see the Conflicting Changes that have occurred. However, I do have 2 gripes with the application so far. I just signed up for Evernote Premium. I'm interested in trying out the premium features, but really liked the idea of having multiple notebooks. I wanted to create multiple notebooks so I didn't clog up 1 account. Let me start with my first gripe. My first gripe is that I think you should be able to create an endless amount of sub-folders or stacks in Evernote. I can't begin to tell you how many times I wish I could separate something out into several different sub-stacks. I really wish Evernote had this option. Secondly, I find that switching between different user accounts to access other notebooks is rather simple. But, it only shows the last notebook you accessed. I want to be able to see all of the notebooks I have synced up to all of my different email accounts. I don't even necessarily think that one should need a separate email address to make a separate notebook in Evernote, but alas, I'll work with it. There are many different facets to my life that are unrelated to one another. I think these different facets would be organized best by having separate notebooks that I can access. I really wish I could just select File at the top of the menu, and see a list of all of the Evernote notebooks I have. Can't this data be cached on the local PC and store all email accounts that have logged into Evernote from that PC? I don't want to sound like I'm bashing, because I'm not. I really like Evernote. I just wanted to point out some of the frustrations that I've encountered and wanted to express them on this forum with the hopes that it will spur some change or at least, start a discussion pointing out the logistics and flaws of my frustrations. I'd appreciate any feedback. Sincerely, Speck
  6. I'm sorry to ask a dumb question, but I have ended up with what I thought were Notebook Stacks under "Your List" (and they have Notebooks under them) ... then below, I have Notebook Stacks 1 and Notebook Stacks 2, also with Notebooks under them. I don't know how to fix this. When I try to drag and drop some together, nothing happens,
  7. I know that Evernote is designed around the use of tags as your means to search through notes or notebooks, but I like to use notebook stacks as a way to keep notes seperated within a notebook. And obviously at this moment a user managing their own business notebooks can create a stack of business notebooks but this is where the problem comes in. My first problem is color. When I create a business stack, it doesn't keep its grey color, it changes to brown which is the color of our personal notebooks AND arranges it alphbetically with my personal notebooks and not my business notebooks. This is extremely annoying, and currently my only way to overcome this is to add a prefix to all my business stacks to help keep them organized together...this sucks. My second problem is sharing stacked notebooks to the business library. With the above mentioned idea of creating business stacks to help better manage notes, we would also like to publish this to the library. Because our notes/notebooks/stacks need to be accessed to every potential user within the company it would be very important for us to have organized stacks with appropriately labeled notebooks within. To give you an idea of our business environment, we are a Residential General Contractor. We would LIKE to impliment Evernote as a way for Project Managers, Site Supervisors, as well as office admin and upper level management to stay in sync with project folders as well as company documents. Currently we use Dropbox as a way to access our files but I personally feel that Evernote creates a more elegant way of storing documents as well as a more intuitive way to search, create, edit, delete, manage any and all content. However, I can't present my case until I can proove it and stand behind its capabilites. So over the last 6 or more months I have been using Evernote exclusively as a way to manage project's but because of these few limitations I have restrained from trying to impliment it company wide. So help me out, hopefully this can become part of the future releases. I love all the changes that have been made to Evernote thus far, lets make this another to cheer about!
