  1. Right now it's a multistep-process to manually link two notes with each other. Coping the note link, inserting it in the other on and if necessary copy the link of the other note to link back at the initial note. With nearly 5,000 notes in Evernote it get's more and more important to build networks, otherwise a huge amount of notes never gets looked at. Maybe at the bottom of each note (where the 'context' section is) you could place a little search bar to enter other note (titles) to connect them with each other. This way it would be more easier to jump between related notes and manually add such connections instead of relying on the 'context' feature.
  2. Hello. I started using a chromebook last week, and I downloaded the evernote in its playstore. The problem is,the note links within evernote doesn't work in the chromebook. I click but nothing happens. I know I can still use the evrernote in the web,and there the notes links works. But I prefer a lot to use the evernote in the android version, not the web. Can anyone please help me?
  3. I've started using the Note Link feature a good bit, both in Evernote itself and outside. That is, I use Things, which allows you to drag in links, documents, etc. to a particular ToDo item. If I make a Note Link, paste it into another note in Evernote, and then do right-click, "copy link", then I get a link like this evernote:///view/467162679/s17/e6e14cd6-71f9-4dcb-91da-4616ee0061ad/e6e14cd6-71f9-4dcb-91da-4616ee0061ad/ And clicking on that in Things opens up the right note in Evernote. Perfect, though a bit cumbersome. However, if I use the keyboard shortcut to create a Note Link (which is automatically copied to the clipboard), I get a link like this https://www.evernote.com/shard/s17/nl/467162679/e6e14cd6-71f9-4dcb-91da-4616ee0061ad/ And when I click on that in Things, instead of taking me to my Evernote app, it loads a browser, and takes me to the Evernote log-in page. Obviously not what I want. My question Is there a way to generate the first kind of link from the Create Note Link keyboard shortcut?
  4. Note Link is a powerful feature for referencing one note from within another note. I like the feature and would like to use it more. Any chance you can add a note's link to its note info window? Currently when you open a note and choose Note Info you get the Note's name, a field for a URL but no URL Link to the actual note. You have to go back to the main notes window, select it and right click copy note link to be able to get at this info. thanks, Stephen
  5. Please create a setting so the user can set a default style/format for their link notes. Currently (on Windows desktop) when I right-click and "Copy Note Link" and paste that link into another note, the hyperlink is light green and not underlined. The text of the link is the title of the copied note, so when it's inline with other text, you don't even notice it's a link because it's not underlined. It's tedious to have to change the font color and apply an underline to a link every time a note link is created... just to make it stand out. If the link (note title) is not underlined, it merely looks like some text that is green for emphasis. Even if I couldn't set a default color for a copied notes link, at the very least, would you please allow me to make all copied note links be underlined by default so I don't have to manually do that each time?
  6. Hi, when copying Note A's note link and paste to Note B, that link is named by the title of Note A, which means, note title equals to note link name. Then if I change the title of Note A, the link name of Note A pasted earlier to Note B won't change automatically, I have to copy Note A link and paste to Note B again - MANUALLY, which is a pain. Please make it possible for the note link name change automatically after the original note title is changed. Thank you.
  7. These new weblinks are extremely frustrating. I don't want them. I need Evernote to spring into action when I click on an Evernote link not my web browser. I do not understand why this option has eclipsed the classic link? I have Evernote on all my devices and the internal link opens the app on whichever device I'm using no matter where it was created. Using Evernote in a browsers, especially on mobile devices is a nightmare, which I assume is why we have the apps! Please O please give us an option to change the default links. There are some reasons I need internal links: 1. I do not save passwords in browsers and need to constantly log in. 2. Evernote is always running, my browser isn't. 3. I don't always have internet access. 4. It is so much easier to have applications that link to Evernote have those links open in the Evernote app and not the browser. The browser app is far inferior to the actual app on my mac. So, question: How do I set the default linking method to be the classic links? Why? I use a number of Keyboard Maestro actions which are now broken as the require the classic link which is difficult to simulate using Keyboard Maestro.
  8. Hi folks, I know this topic has come up in some form previously - but not exactly in the form that I am asking (i.e. between Evernote users); also the discussions are from > 1 year ago and Evernote has been continuing to improve + new features. My question: When sharing a note, with an evernote user, if my note that I am sharing contains several "note links" to other documents, does that person automatically gain access to being able to view those note links that are contained in the document that I am sharing. case example: 1 document, 100 questions, each being answered by members of a study group, I am adding note links in order to avoid typing long answers, the note links point to an original source, say a PDF or excellent review article, that has highlighting from Clearly...I would like my colleagues that I am sharing the document with to be able to see my full resources and it's detailed contents. Thank you kindly
  9. Hi, I use the classic note link a lot (link between applications on my Mac). It used to be : right-click + option => see 'classic note link' in menu the classic links start with evernote:///view/........ Now there is only the link that starts with 'https://www.evernote.com/ This means that I must be online to see the linked note ! (and I am often not online @customers site) I used the classic links a lot. Where can I find it?? Kind regards Luc
  10. Evernote version 6.0.1 (Direct) There no longer seems to be a means to copy a note link that will open a note locally on my Mac (rather than in the browser/web page). Is this a bug or a feature? I find (had found) it very useful to copy a note's link into my task application and then later open that linked Evernote locally on my Mac for both reference and to add further to that note... with the note only opening in the browser as it seems to now, there is no [quick/easy] means to edit that note. Oddly, a private link can be created in the iOS Evernote version which, although it opens a link in the browser initially, it then opens iOS Evernote and provides access to the note for editing. Note: the short cut key to copy a note link also seems to be inoperative.
  11. If I do a search in EN to find a note, then click on a link in that note while it is still in the search view (i.e. don't open the note in a new window) and the note I want is in the same notebook but is filtered out because of the search results, clicking on the link gives me the wrong note - a random one it appears. If I open the searched for note in a new window, then click on the link, the right note is shown. I submitted this bug to Support, but they are asking for my logs, which are irrelevant, and the next step will be to ask me to uninstall and reinstall, which is also irrelevant. Has anyone else seen this?
  12. Love Evernote. Two feature requests: Dynamic Snippets I find that I frequently have the same content in more than one note. It would be great if there was a way to cordon off sections of content as "dynamic snippets" that can be copied/pasted. When a snippet is edited in one note, the changes are reflected in all notes. For example, I have a high level note that contains the schedules for all of my projects so I can see how my available resources map together/conflict. I also have project specific notes that contain all project related information, including schedule. I hate that I have to make edits to both when the schedule changes. If I could just select a group of content with the mouse cursor and define it/name it as a "snippet" then paste it into another note and have it change dynamically, that would be awesome. Faster Linking I actually use Evernote like a wiki, with a home page that has links to projects and processes, with deeper pages linking off those. It's much easier to navigate a huge number of notes with this kind of link based/contextual hierarchal structure. Therefore, I find myself frequently creating new notes, then saving/syncing them, then right clicking on them in the list, then selecting "Copy Note Link," then going back to the parent page and pasting in a link. This could be much faster. How about a way to just type in some text, highlight it with the mouse cursor, right click, and have an option that essentially does this: Creates a new note with the name [sELECTED TEXT]Links the selected text to the new noteSaves/syncs the current noteAutomatically opens the newly created note for editingMaybe the option could be labelled "Link to a New Note and Save." Thanks for listening. Jeremy
  13. I've just started getting back into using Evernote, and am running into some trouble with linking to notes within the desktop app. I like hyperlink text with links to other notes, but I'm having some trouble I didn't use to have. When I have a note selected, and either use the menu or keyboard shortcut to "copy note link," it puts the web link on the clipboard (e.g. https://www.evernote.com/blah/blah-blah/XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX). If I then highlight some text, and add a link to that text, the link launches in the browser instead of in the EN app. Interestingly, if I just paste straight into a note (not as a hyperlink), the link gets pasted as the app-link (eg. evernote:///view/XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Clicking that links to the note within the app. So in principal, I could copy the note link, paste it into evernote, then copy the newly formatted link and use that for the hyperlink, but that seems absurd. Is there a way to copy the note link in the app-link format by default? Thanks,
  14. I am a power user of Evernote, and I really like the kinda new "Copy Note Link" feature. I use it all the time - for creating easy to track note threads within tags with lots of notes. This feature would be so much better if I could simply select a note, and then have a keyboard short cut to copy the link. command-j would be a good start, but heck, I'd take any keyboard shortcut for this!
  15. Hi! I've got something strange here, and it's even weirder that nobody else raised it. I'm running the latest prerelease of Evernote on Windows XP. Thing is: Links (not external links, only the evernote://-links) do neither work for co-workers nor on other platforms, like Android. Maybe it's only me. Could you guys do me a favour and try the following? In a business notebook, create a simple note. Sync. Copy the notes' link to the clipboard (right-click, "copy note link", not "share -> copy url ...") Create a second note within the same notebook and paste the link. Sync. Now ask a co-worker to click on that link. Does it work? Here, it does NOT work on Windows and Web. As well, the link seems broken on Android (logged in as the user who created the notes). On the iPad, it works. Didn't try to switch user there ... Web looks like this: Windows looks like this: You can also send the link to another EB user via e-mail or IM, same result. Could you please do me a favour and try to reproduce this step? I opened a ticket (see title), but it seems I'm the only one having this issue. Thanks in advance! André
  16. I use a task management app called Appigo Todo and I'd like to paste note links into the Description field on Todo, however, when I paste today, it comes in as hyperlinked text of the Note Title and when I hit Done, it's changed to plain text and is not a link. One workaround I've found is to Copy Note Link from Evernote, go to my browser and paste the Note Link into the address bar, copy that, and paste it into Todo. That then creates a hyperlink for the evernote:///.... which then takes me to the app like I want. It's not ideal, but it works. I was looking for a way to use the new Workflow actions inside Alfred to automate the Copy Note Link and transform it to the URL, but so far, I've not been successful at that. Does anyone know of a way to paste the URL of a Note Link instead of the Note Title? After my workaround, I can click the link on the task to go to it in Evernote desktop.
  17. When I try to add a note as a shortcut on the desktop , I get the error "file not found". I follow this simple procedure: right click on the noteclick Copy Note Linkright click on Desktopcreate shortcutI paste the link I get the error "file not found" (see screenshot attached) Thanks
  18. If I know the note link, is there any way in Evernote to find that note? I could paste it in Excel as a URL or some other way, but it would seem to me I should be able to search in Evernote and find it. This is on Windows.
