  1. When I started using Evernote a few months ago I simply clipped selections for project notebooks. Eventually I had enough notes in a notebook that I could identify keywords. Now I'm trying to go to these selections and add the keywords. How?? I am using Chromebook for retrieval and Android tablet for clipping. Thanks.
  2. OK, I am brand new Evernote. I just figured out where my emails to Evernote end up, so I feel pretty good about that... One thing I would like to know... I am using a monthly calendar template. I have to scroll through old months to get where I left off.. it being January that's not so bad. But there must be a way to mark the calendar so I can find the current date. Can someone tell me? I also would like to know where to find checklist templates. I am sorry, but I am legally blind and it can take some fairly specific instructions to make me see what I need. Thanks to you all for your help. Kit Moss
  3. I have been an Evernote user since 2012. I use this program on my laptop, my desk top, my Nook Color and my Android cell phone. Yesterday, I decided to go premium. I have synced all of my tech as soon as I got the email from Evernote stating that the transaction was successful. I have both my laptop and the desk top versions of Evernote open and they both still show the promotions in the lower left corner. When I try to close them, the dialog box pops up telling me, Evernote Premium users can choose to hide promotions for distraction-free workspace. Upgrade now to hide promotions and enjoy the other... blah blah blah When I hit the learn more button it takes me to page within the program and in huge letters across the top it says, "EVERNOTE Premium" and "Premium Member since Dec 28, 2013" BUT the ad is still in the corner! I looked on the webpage of my account and it looks different from my machine's program. On the left side of the screen, the only items showing is Shortcuts, Notebooks & Tags, whereas my program shows, Announcements, Shortcuts, Notes, Notebooks, Tags, Atlas, Market & Premium. So my questions to all of you Evernotiacs out there are these: Why doesn't my Evernote programs know it is now a Premium account? How do I turn off those annoying promotions? Why is the Webpage and the program interface different from one another? What is the point of paying for the premium if it doesn't act any differently than the free version? Besides the space, I mean. I love Evernote for many reasons, but for one very important one, I no longer have to carry a huge binder of my inventory into stores when I go shopping for business items. No more double buying for me!! My husband, who is a computer tech/administrator introduced me to it. I am an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and my stamps, ink pads, refills, etc is huge and Evernote keeps it all for me in whatever platform I take into the stores. It helps me keep track of my previous demonstrations and items I made for it so I do not repeat the demo should that person schedule another party. Evernote is such an important tool for stampers and crafters, that we trade our inventories of dies, inks, stamps, etc on the Split Coast Stamper Forum. Any help you can give me on this, I would dearly appreciate. I did put in a question to Evernote, but with the holidays I doubt I get an answer any time soon. Thanks again.
  4. Hello, I am a new evernote user and am looking for some advice on how to get started. I'm sure I can make things work but I am not sure of the best way how. If there is a good beginner-thru-advanced guide please point me to it. I use the android, windows, and web platforms. Here are my uses I am interested in figuring out: 1. Task management. I use Michael Linenberger's MYN system. I think I have this mostly figured out - I have a notebook called tasks and tags for critical-now, opportunity-now, and over-the-horizon. I email tasks to evernote and use @ and # to get them ranked where I want. I use the android widget or shortcuts to display the task related tags I want, and use the reminder to cause my over-the-horizon tasks to pop on the horizon when they should. Am I missing anything? 2. Use at work. This one I have not the slightest idea where to start. I am an intensive care clinical pharmacist. Evernote is not HIPAA compliant so storing protected health information is out. However there is still alot of data that I must manage at work that isn't tied to a specific patient. I have scores lots of articles in pdf form. These fall into two general categories - guidelines/review articles and studies. Each could further be categorized by the type of article but there would be alot of overlap - so I am thinking tags should be used somehow. Do I throw each article in its own note? Do I have multiple articles per note? a notebook for each general category?Instructions for my students and residents. I have several powerpoint & word docs for them to study as well as phone numbers to reference and general tips for them to review. Currently I have these posted on a sharepoint site.Ongoing projects. Research projects or development of staff education, policies, etc... Sometimes I work on these alone and sometimes collaborate. Currently these are posted in a document library on sharepoint - I imagine I throw these in a notebook and share it as appropriate?Useful links. some links are external and some point to the intranet. I want the link to have a meaningful description but don't see a way to do this other than a two-column table in a note?Meetings/workgroups. I make a notebook for each recurring meeting I suppose?Thats good for starters - thank you in advance for any guidance you provide.
  5. Hello guys I've been lurking around here for the last couple of weeks, to help inform my thinking about taking a leap towards the whole paperless thing. And there's a remarkable collection of expertise in here, which I guess I shouldn't be surprised about! You've given me the confidence to get started - so though I might share my thoughts on the first steps. Please feel free to tell me where my thinking might be awry! timfg
  6. I've never been good at taking notes - or being organized, in general. I've somehow managed to cobble together various note taking tools and scratchpads (both real world and digital) to get by. I've been using Evernote for a while now, but I always feel like I'm doing it wrong. Life seems to require more and more organization, and my partner is now back in grad school, so I figured now is as good a time as any to reach out for help. Any suggestions on how I would go about setting up an Evernote info/training session in, say, the New Haven, CT area? I'd be happy to host, help organize, set up, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  7. Hi, I am a evernote newbie switching form one note . I take multiple notes on evernote but each time I have to write to a new note I have to click on the pencil icon which beats the purpose of quickly pasting somethign in it . Is there a way to just have each note in edit mode like word, oneNote, notepad, etc ? Thanks!
  8. We are in the process of switching from NeatReceipts/Neatworks to Evernote and are curious if anyone else here has made the transition? If so, how did you do it? How did you transfer the docs from NW to EN? Did you just drag & drop, or is there a tool that you found that will help? Does the transfer preserve the OCR, or does EN have to OCR the docs again? We've seen various posts from people that use both EN & NW, but we're trying to simplify things and use only one app. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Sunil
