  1. Hello, I run a business that involves *lots* of mobile in-person sales (we're a distillery, we sell booze to lots of restaurants and liquor stores). I've got Evernote set up for a bare-bones CRM so I can tag leads and customers by city and status (sampled, follow ups, blah, blah, blah). What I'm wondering is if there's a decent integration or workflow that anyone has for moving info from Google Maps / Apple Maps / vCards into Evernote notes -- basically so I can quickly clip a bunch of cocktail bars in a given area. The Evernote Web Clipper on Google Maps mysteriously leaves out the Phone Number, so it's not that useful. Apple Maps is great for this because you can create a contact from any location, but besides Apple's Contacts app just chunking the literal vCard file into Evernote it doesn't really integrate. The 'share' contextual from Apple Maps also doesn't show Evernote as one of the options. Anyone know a good way to do this? Thanks!
  2. Saving offline notes is great, but you cannot see the location of a note because the map data is not saved offline. Even a very low resolution map would be helpful. Because you cannot send the mapping location to other apps (such as Google Maps), there is absolutely no way to use the mapping data to navigate to a note's location when you are in remote locations without cellular data service, or while traveling abroad (if you aren't willing to pay expensive roaming data rates). Please allow users to easily save mapping data for offline use.
  3. I use Evernote to scout photography locations. It's incredibly helpful, but there is a serious limitation to "Places" and mapping data in Evernote, you cannot navigate to a point of interest. Evernote does not have navigation tools (such as offline maps and turn by turn directions). That would be no problem with a simple fix: This could easily be overcome if the map pin would allow the user to "open in" a mapping app such as Google Maps. Even just displaying/copying the latitude and longitude would be a significant improvement (which could be used with apps like GPS Tracks to find your way). Attached is a screen shot showing the limitation of Evernote, and one possible solution that should be easy to implement. Please add support for this, it is a critical feature to use geolocation data in notes.
  4. (sorry for my English) With big regret, last version of Evernote for Android hasn't the "Maps" button and feature anymore. Big regret because: - I used this feature for work (I'm a travel agent and it was very important for me) - There wasn't any mention in the changelog - On Android I cannot downgrade to a previous version (I've written about this in another post, started by somebody else with "web" tag, but please, let me start a new standalone topic) I use EN for remember and locate construction sites: where it is (with map)what it is and what to propose (snapping a picture of the site)who is the builder (writing the note or with OCR recognition of the advertisement panel)when to visit (not too early, not too late - by changing the creation date and searching notes after a certain date)So when I'm planning a visit in an area, I know what to do, where to go, when and in which order. A single visual glimpse on an Evernote map. With tags maybe I do not remember the single note content but I remember what it's about (that's why tags exists). A pin/geotag in the Android map fulfills the same purpose: I don't remember the single note content (a building, a restaurant, a customer, a monument), but I know where it is or where they are. You may say "search for the cities names" and get a list of notes: ok, but this was the work I did with my paper notebook and that's why I started using EN. The words are not enough, please let me see again my places inside EN and with all the feature of EN. Cheers.
  5. Google Maps app for Android has been updated. This has broken the link to maps from Evernote app. Earlier, when tapped on location in "Note Info" the maps loaded with pin marked to the exact location inside Google Maps. This was an easy way to mark locations (like parking spot/food stalls/residences) from Evernote and navigate to the locations with Google Maps. How to fix (for Evernote Android team): Search string used earlier was: lat;long (note title). Google Maps doesn't accept this any more. New search string: lat, long only will do Please fix. I have over a hundred locations saved! Can't view on the map
  6. Hi, I just been talking with costumer support and i was advise to inform the forum about my problem with the new version Evernote maps: Last week i’ve upload to Evernote 7, and the main feature that made me become a Premium Costumer, was changed, I’m talking about the Map function. I'm in Sales and each note represents a costumer and if i want to go to a specific area, by looking at maps i could see the other notes and easily decide my daily costumer visiting route. Yesterday I was a bit more satisfied because this feature was updated to ipad, but the map display that is provided is too small to see the notes and i can't have a over view of the notes like i did with the previous Evernote version. In Portugal we have a saying that goes like this: if the team is playing wonderfully we are not gonna mess up with substitutions! please bring this functionality back. thankx
  7. I'm trying to enter co-ordinates from Google Maps into Evernote, trouble is Google Maps is degress and minutes (which is what I would expect), but Evernote is in decimal format. If I transpose the exact same figures from Google, take out the degrees and minutes and replace with a decimal point I end up a few miles away. Is there a way (or formula) of converting degrees and minutes into decimal?
  8. Hello There may be a obvious solution to this problem but my lack of technical knowledge has prevented me from finding one, any help would be greatly appreciated! One of my hobbies is photography and having recently found evernote I am wondering how I can use this brilliant organising tool to make things easier. I like to plan in advance locations of particular features and landscapes I am keen to photograph (all depending on advice and my knowledge from the local area). Currently I tag these spots and save their locations on google maps so I can plan where to visit at a convenient time. Currently I can save the google maps URL and save it within a note. Is there a possibility I can view my personally tagged google map ( or any other mapping tool ) within my notebook? This would be very useful so I can preview the map on each note. I could even have a specific notebook for location tagged maps for areas I frequently visit. There is the option of screenshotting a map and placing that in my note, however this in not always ideal as scrolling around and zooming so you can get your bearings on a map is sometimes neccesary. If this is indeed possible I would like to know how as I can see a feature like this being useful for many things ( my jogging routes , travel itineraries etc.) Many thanks in advance!
  9. Hello Members: I have been searching for hours attempting to find higher online resolution satellite imagery maps than Google Maps provides. In my travels, I just came upon MapBox.com which down page a little, states the following: Evernote 5 for Mac features the new Atlas view, which helps users organize their notes by geocoding and then displaying them on top of a customized version of MapBox Streets. Geocoding with MapBox Places MapBox Streets QUESTION: Would anyone know if this is possibly available for MS Windows and Android at this time???... or any alternative??? Thanks much in advance! Alan
  10. Hello Members: Would anyone have experience getting MS Streets & Trips integrate with EN... or is it simply necessary to export EN data to a spreadsheet and then upload to MS Streets to create travel routes? Would anyone have an alternative strategy? Thanks much in advance for a prompt and detailed response. Positively, Alan
  11. Evermap or Everroute? Friends, I would suggest you create a repository of route navigation systems. Your user could create a route through the web site interface, note the waypoints and leave a note and then upload it in his navigation program. The user will be able to: - Create your own section in the store. - Build and edit a route through the web interface, and then load it into your navigator and start a movement. - Maintain a repository of history actually took place travel tags to apply after the trip. - Provide public access to the route to other users. For developers, navigation systems connect to the service may be made chargeable. С уважением, dmi.ershov@gmail.com
