  1. Hi, Today I opened my Evernote, and noticed out that all my images from a note have disappeared. There is just nothing, blank space, instead of the images. How to fix this up? I tried to contact support via thicket but i didn't manage to do that, I think it's only for premium members. I need help, lost a lot of stuff =/ The activity log is attached. Regards, Pedro Evernote_6.8.7.6387_20180312.log
  2. Hi I lost data again, and had to get it back with an old version of the note. I was editing a note. It had information in an image of text. The image disappeared from the note. Undoing the "edit" did not bring the image back. This is poor for a note keeping app.
  3. About a month ago after an update I noticed one of my notes was showing content in the preview bar but the note itself was empty. How can I fix it? It doesn't appear to be happening to any other notes. Thanks!
  4. I need help getting back deleted notes. This happened a week or so ago. TLDR: I had a mixup with devices and my basic account. That resulted in me losing my notes. I still have the source .enml files, but can't open them. What do I do? I can't contact support with my basic account, so I'm writing here. --------- I have a basic account, so only 2 devices can be used. My laptop was associated with my account, but the motherboard broke, so I replaced it. That meant that my computer was recognized by Evernote as a new computer. So I removed my old computer, and logged into my new computer. That started me with a blank slate - I lost all my notes and notebooks from the web interface. I went to look on my mac to see if the library source files of the notes were there, and they were! They were not recognized by the Evernote app though. So the raw data is there, but it can't be opened by Evernote, and I've tried to use 3rd party solutions (Mac App: Alternote, Web App: http://enml-editor.ping13.net ) but they don't work. I tried uninstalling evernote, logging back in and out, rebooting, copying files, etc. Nothing works. Can I recover this data from Evernotes servers? How can I contact them without a paid account? --------- My goal: get my notes back. My Hope: I have the data on my desktop My request: how do I open / restore / import / view the source / get the text, etc. of my old notes? Freaked out! Help?
  5. Hi everyone, I was trying to import some notes from my old laptop into my Evernote on my Mac, but Evernote crashed and when I reopened it, I lost all of my existing notes (on my Mac) from 2016 and 2017. My notes from 2018 were moved to trash so I could recover them. All my notes were in local notebooks, does anyone know where I can recover them? None of the notes are synced with the online version. I'm currently using Evernote 6.13.3 and I have NO backup on Time Machine Thank you in advance for your help! Sarah
  6. My note which was password protected for years suddenly lost. The only thing left behind is the title of the note with no content. The most interesting part is how on earth, a password protected notes suddenly becomes password-less. I was on a free plan and in order to report and get support from Evernote I had to upgrade to a paid plan (Plus). It's been more than 48 hours and I did not get any response yet. Today, I sent my second message and still waiting!!! I am already upset due to my lost notes and even worse very frustrated that support is not taking care of this urgent matter. Am I missing something here?
  7. Using my Tablet Galaxy TabA I have exported a text from Pocket (Android) to Evernote; then I marked, using the mark text, some passages of the text; I finally added notes with the S-pen, using the "Writing" tool, in some parts of the note, I did this on the street, I was connected to the Internet through the Internet sharing of my Galaxy Note5; Everything seemed fine; already at home I accessed the note of my 2 in 1 Yoga 520 and noticed that the annotation using the tool "Writing" had disappeared, I took a look at my Tablet and there also the note had disappeared. I do not know if there was a problem saving the note in Evernote for Android or if it was a problem in sync. Anyway it was a problem. What I lost is not so serious, but it could be. Has anyone had similar problems? Does anyone know a way to avoid this problem?
  8. Last night, when I attempted to open a note on my Android device that I had been writing for the past week, the note would not open. Then a message appeared that I was trying to sync a corrupted note, and gave me two options to recover the note. I selected the option to send the note to Evernote for analysis. Then I was returned to the Evernote home screen, and the content of the note was totally erased. The note still showed in my note list, but all content and the heading of the note were empty, and a red exclamation mark icon was displayed in the top right of the note on the note list, where normally an upward arrow displays if the note has not been synced. I have checked my trash folder in Evernote, as well as my Evernote account on the Windows application and Evernote web. The note does not display in any of these places at all, although the empty note with the heading "Untitled Note" still displays on my Android device. Therefore I am unable to use the note history function to retrieve the content that was in the note. I upgraded to Evernote Premium just to use this feature, but it does not help me. This note contained all of my writings for the last week. Evernote has erased a large amount of irreplaceable data, and I need to retrieve it. Please help me. This is one of three occasions that my writings on Evernote have been lost without explanation. I think that this kind of event negates the purpose Evernote. This is really an unforgivable error for an application which users rely on solely for the purpose of preserving their data. For this reason, I've begun looking for alternative applications.
  9. In August of 2017 I searched Evernote on my Android device for a key word I had written recently in a note. However, the search gave no results. So I searched for other key words I had used, and also there were no results. Then I looked back over my recently saved notes and noticed that a week's worth of my notes were missing. I found that all my notes from 8/4/17 through 8/9/17 had disappeared. I checked on my Evernote Windows application and Evernote Web and the notes were missing there too. There were also no notes from that period in my trash. Does anyone have any idea how I can recover my notes? I already submitted a ticket... 10. Hi, I use basic Evernote across 3 machines: PC at home, Android mobile, and PC at work. I entered a number of notes at work yesterday, hit the sync button and waited to see 'Synchronization Complete', and turned off the machine. I may have had the app running on my phone at the time. Today when I checked my home PC and didn't see the notes there, I hit sync, still nothing. Checked my phone and the notes were missing. Finally checked the web interface and the notes weren't there either. 1) Is it safe to say the notes are probably gone for good? 2) If it has happened to you, please let me know the details. I'm sure the number of people that have never had a problem is huge so I'm not interested in seeing it in this thread (it will just make the thread long with nothing to say but "it's never happened to me before"). But I am curious about the folks that it did happen to and any details they can remember about it.
  11. I have just noticed that all my notes for an entire week are missing, between 8-3-17 to 8-10-17. I have checked my trash folder and the desktop version of Evernote, and the notes are not there. The notes were made on the Android smartphone app (which is how I make all my notes). The Evernote app I am using is the latest version. Please help.
  12. Hi @ All, I use Evernote Web and the client software for Android on my phone. Everything worked like a charm, no issues for month. To make my notes also available on my PC (Win 7 Home), I installed Evernote for Windows. I entered my credentials und the first sync started. But instead of showing me all my notes, it asked me to create my FIRST note. I was surprised and synced manually again with the same result. Then I switched back to the web interface and saw that everything was deleted. So it seams it sync went in the wrong direction. I disconnected my phone from internet access immediately. Fortunately my notes are still on the phone. I am not sure if I can sync these notes back to the server. I think the server will tell my phone that it (the server) has the most recent version of my notes and the notes on my phone will be deleted too. How can I get back my notes? Could somebody provide some help or has some advices? Thanks in advance! p.s.: I have only a basic account.
  13. I succumbed to the latest prompt and I just updated to the latest windows desktop version. It turned out to be a very bad decision. During the update, it said EN was moving the EN folders/files to a different directory on my computer. At the end of the update, I received a message saying not all of the folders could be moved and to click on a link to see what ones. I clicked on the link and saw about a dozen folders (see attached.) I would like to submit a ticket to support and ask them what to do to fix this problem, but I'm a free user so I can't. It's pretty sketchy that their update broke my EN (which was working just fine) and now I would need to pay them to get help to fix it.
  14. After deleting one duplicated tag (resulting from syncing error) on my computer A and syncing on both computers (A and B), the notes lost that tag, and the tag and the duplicated one disappear simutaneously on my computer B, which really frustrates me since I could no longer pick these notes out with the tag QAQ How to recover the tag for those notes? Many thanks
  15. I'm not sure how it happened, but I overwrote a note--and extremely LENGTHY note with a lot of information I wanted to save. Is there a way to restore it to a certain date? This is on my Android phone.
Gracias.
  17. Hey there, I started using Evernote this very week and I have to say that I find it pretty easy and practical to work with. Everything was perfect until a couple of minutes ago. I was editing one of my notes and it had a lot of content already. When I finished I saved it and after clicking on the left corner arrow to go back to all notes, I noticed that in the note preview/thumbnail there was nothing on it. So I opened the note and boom. Completely empty. The only thing that remained was the title and the headline of the note. I'm very pissed cause I put a lot of time on that note. This is unacceptable. If I don't get my note back I'm obviously not going to risk using this software anymore. Question: Is there any way I can get my note back? Thanks in advance.
  18. This is my first post here, but I hope it'll be helpful for some people. Earlier today I was writing a bunch of notes on my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet. After a couple of hours I was tabbing between different apps on the tablet, but when I got back to Evernote almost all of my notes were gone. The first sentences I wrote was all that was left. Devastated I searched the forums for help and finally after looking through different threads I found a solution to my problem, which I'll share here. Might not work for all of you,but hopefully someone might be able to get their notes back. First thing I did was trying to sync my files without any luck, so I started my file explorer (in my case ES File Explorer - found in Google Play if you don't have it/another file explorer). 1. In ES File Explorer I opened the folder Android>data>com.evernote>files>unsaved_notes. Here I found 3 different .enml-files. I opened them as text and saw that what I wrote earlier was there, only cluttered with a bunch of html-code (I think it was HTML - don't know for sure). The files were named something similar to temp_XXXXXXXXXXXX.enml 2. I marked all three files and pressed the "Share" button (found under "More" in bottom right corner on my tablet) 3. I Shared all three files to my dropbox and then went to my computer (which runs Windows 7). 4. On my computer I changed the file extensions from .enml to .html (remember to deactivate the "Hide file extensions"-option in folder options to change the file extension - http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/software/3341794/how-show-or-hide-file-extensions/) 5. When the file names where changed to .html I could open my files in my web browser and there it was - all my notes were saved as I last rememberd them. 6. I just copied all text and opened Evernote om my computer and pasted it there - all I had to do was change font. 7. Finally I just synced my files and found them all on my tablet again. So there you have it - there's possibly some other, easier way to restore your notes, but that's how I got my back!
  19. thankfully this is a hypothetical quesiton if i delete a note from a notebook, then delete it from the trash, then buy evernote premium afterwards, can you recover that note ? thanks
  20. Multiple times now I have searched for notes, found the one I needed and opened it to find "EN_attachment" written there, but no attachment to open anymore. Maybe if there was a way I could tell if I emailed this note to myself or if I tried saving images or files — nope! There is only a big "F-U" from the app showing me my trust has been foolishly misplaced Mao much for going paperless now it's even easier to loose items forever! I'm totally pissed.

  22. I've typed out a thorough description of the problem I've had (massive loss of data on Evernote). However the forum won't let me post the full text. So, I pasted the full text of my problem into a .txt file and attached it to this post. All the details are included in there. Long story short, I've had a nightmarish time trying to recover data lost from Evernote, and I've followed all steps possible and gone a bit beyond. I could really use some help. Thanks you guys so much. Evernote Issue - Full Description.txt
  23. I use Evernote on my MacBook Pro and iPad - have been doing so for two years, and I love it. But I've just had a DISASTER! In one document I stored ALL my passwords for programs and apps - carefully encoded - and always synced between the two devices. But somehow, and I really have no idea how, the document is now EMPTY. The heading Pw is still there, and the Info button shows it was created in November, 2013, and last used on 17 April, 2015, i.e. this morning, but there is nothing in there. I'm distraught. I had around 40 user names, passwords and email details stored on the two devices and thought they were very safe - backed up in effect. I don't know whether Evernote's "web service" means it might be up in a cloud somewhere??? Please, can anyone help?
  24. Hi, I used the desktop widget to write up an extensive note, clicked save and now its gone. I opened up Evernote and was asked to log in and update the app, which I did. Now I can't find this note anywhere??? I'm on Mac laptop running Yosemite. Please help! :( Thanks, Lars
  25. I have deactivated a business user that has left my company. I made the assumption that the user will not have access to the business notes but that the notes remained with the business. I did not, however, see the instructions that I needed to backup the users notes before deactivating. The notes are lost! Is there a way to recover them?
