  1. I use the free edition. I was on my Samsung with both data and WiFi turned off. I tried to read a note in one of my folders. I did not realize both were turned off. So when it told me it did not have either access, I immediately turned my WiFi on. However, when I clicked on the note in the notebook I was wanting to open the whole note had been replaced by my network providers error screen from the internet. I tried everything I could think of to try to get my note back but it did not work. I then went out to my Evernote on my PC to see if I could recover it there. Unfortunately, EN had already updated and the error screen now populates all three of my Evernotes. My PC version, my android version and my internet version. So what can I do to get my note back and why did it do this in the first place? I can understand not allowing access with WiFi and data turned off but why was there and error message when I turned my WiFi back on. The error said the site trying to be reached was not valid. The only site that it should have been trying to reach is the one that allows my EN data to now be synced with my device. So because apparently the syncing site was not available it used whatever site that was being delivered by my internet provider to read into the note. It did not append it to the note but actually overwrote the note. HELP! Thanks Dave
  2. I reset my iPhone because my touch ID stopped working (right after the iPhone X came out). I cannot find one of my notes - it is possible more are missing. I have checked the deleted notebook and it is not there. My iPhone is always connected to the internets, so it should have been syncing. When I logged back in on my phone, I had to unverify the old device (the same phone). Any ideas on how I can recover this note? Thanks!
  3. Hello, I've lost a very important note. I hadn't put a pw on it to protect it however. In it I had my bank balance with dollar signs of many diff bank accounts and loads of details about insurance and stuff. I had user name inserted but no pw, only a long sentence explaining a hint to pw so obscure no one could find out what they were. I can't find that note for the life of me. I checked in trash, check on the web base Evernote, check in note history. NOTHING. It was my only note where I actually had money written down. One possibility for its disappearance is that I sold 2 of my computers. and signed off from Evernote on both. I'm sure everything was synched though and I hadn't checked that note in a month or 2. So How would I find out where my note is or where did it go?? Maybe my search engine doesn't work properly. I'm a premium user. I really would like to find that note. If someone can help ?
  4. I recently updated to Evernote v8.0, after immediately opening the app on my iPhone and editing a note, the note disappeared. I can't find the note in Trash and even after searching for it, still can't find any trace of it. I've even checked my activity log, with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?
  5. Hi, I started a note using the Evernote widget to create a quick note. I then continued editing this note by going into the app. I locked my phone, and late when I unlocked it I found that the note wasn't yet synced, or maybe not saved. I pressed the tick icon (done option) and then looked for it in Evernote web. I can no longer find the note anywhere including on the device or in the Trash folder/notebook on Evernote web. I don't have Evernote premium and believe this is required in order to raise a support ticket about the missing data. It feels weird that there is no support, not even for lost data when using the free version. Perhaps I need to find an alternative and more reliable note taking service.... or maybe this forum will be my saving grace Thanks
  6. I just lost a note I'd been maintaining for 2 years!! I was editing on the iphone and seleted all to convert to a bullet list and that wiped out all the data!! Now there's just one bullet on that note. Obviously I have the basic plan and I'm not planning to buy yet because I don't use it that often but this has been really bad and I wish I'd maintained the note in google docs or something. Is there any way to get my note back? Please help.
  7. Evernote chat is good. It USED TO be easy eg my colleague would send me a note in a chat and it would come up in my searches (the same as if I had created the note myself and then shared it...) Now however someone shares a note with me and it comes up in CHAT but ONLY in Chat!! If I do a search for the note name in my Evernote then it doesn't come up at all! I have to remember who sent it to me and when, go to chat and then find it and click on the note.... it doesn't seem to be integrating properly into my notes... Where has the integration gone so it actually brings the note into my normal notes for me? What has changed? Many thanks, Kyle.
  8. Hi there folks. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Yesterday, I spent a very long time writing out a long note on the Android tablet version of Evernote (Nexus 7 2013, Android v. 5.1.1). However, I did not have an internet connection at the time, so the note was not synched to the cloud. I did click on the tick icon periodically though, and so believe that the note should have been saved to the temporary memory of my tablet. After writing the note, I came out of Evernote to do something else. I returned to the note 15 minutes later but all that was there was a blank, "Untitled" note. I believe that the note must reside somewhere on the tablet however because, if I search for words that I know were in the note, the note does show in the search results but only as blank and untitled. For example, if I had written about elephants, I search for the word "elephant", and the note shows up, but empty. I'm obviously gutted, because I put a lot of work into the document and I was wondering if there is any way to retrieve the work that I put in. Many thanks. A.
  9. Help I have acidentally deleted a note -and i cant undo it i could not find a trash folder on ipad so i logged in on my laptop and found a trash folder. but the trash folder was empty so where has the note got to ? hours of work lost
  10. Hello fellow Evernoters I had a very important note filled with audio recordings (interviews) just straight disappear. It was around the time I started syncing my account it to a computer. I've looked in the trash, and it's not there. Searched for it thinking it was moved to another notebool - nothing. Any thoughts? This is kind of a big deal . With thanks
  11. I had a single note -- actually, one of my most important -- that had disappeared. Maybe I deleted it by accident, but in any case it was gone from the computer and from the Evernote server. In another forum topic I saw that someone had mentioned /Users/[user_name]/Library/Application Support/Evernote. I went there and took a look at the folder Application Support/Evernote/accounts/Evernote/[Evernote_user_name]/content/ and discovered a number of folders named "pnnn" where nnn was a number. Inside each of those folders there was a file "content.html" and others. I rummaged through them and eventually found my lost note. I'm not sure if it's the latest version but it was the only version in that set of folders, and if it's not the latest it's very very close. I pasted the contents into a new Evernote note, and noted that the same HTML file was updated with the current time and date.
  12. I use Evernote on my PC (Windows XP), iPhone and iPad. The last time I was editing the note was through the PC. I had my iPhone plugged into the computer at the time to charge, but was only running the Evernote desktop application on my PC to edit the note at that time. I shutdown my comp, took the computer to work, and now cannot find the note. The note is titled "Action Items." I've looked on my iPhone, the Windows application, the web application and my iPad. When I powered on my iPad this afternoon to search for the note, I briefly saw the note as EN started. However, the screen refreshed as if to refresh the current notes, and it was no longer there. I've checked the "Trash" on all devices and cannot find the note. Please help. I just submitted this ticket online, support ticket #351376 Thank you, Jonathan
  13. Hello everyone, I checked around in the forum, apparently not many people lost notes, but I indeed experienced two notes loss recently, one this morning and they are important ones. I can barely believe it... I'm not a premium user, but wonder if I can find the notes back? This makes me want to completely stop using Evernote, especially I can reply on it take down all my ideas and inspirations.. Thank you in advance for your kind advice and help.
  14. Hello, I've lost a note, any chance you may be able to get it from the servers? I've checked the trash... I think what happened was there was a conflicting note and I've lost the one that had all the new info on it somehow. Thanks
  15. So long story short, my (very old) computer battery died while I was working on a note, so it never synced to the servers. I have since upgraded the operating system (fresh install) but do have a full backup of my old OS. I can access those files, but can't boot the os (because of the backup i chose to make, it seemed to better preserve programs like photoshop which are a pain in the ass to deal with) So it would be more difficult for me to make my backup bootable than for me to simply find where evernote stores local files, since I'm only looking for one (pretty important) note any help? thanks
